The property is in a lively neighborhood of Dorchester. Very family oriented and outdoorsy. Lots of schools nearby such as Boston Latin Academy. Part of the charm of the place is the diversity. Right next door is an apartment complex with budding students, clacking away on their laptops. Every multi family building seems to have a backyard and ample parking space.
You'll often see students walk on the street. It's right off Columbia Road one of the Main Streets of Dorchester, a prime location for food, public transportation, and diversity.
Dorchester has had a very rich history. What's different about Dorchester in the Boston Area is the plethora of African appeal and civil rights background. Less than 5 mins walk, visit Elegance African Fashions for some true traditional African couture and patterns.
A 15 minute walk to Blue Hill Ave lands you in the smack middle of the Malcom X, MLK history.
Or pivot to The Grove Hall Public Library and check out some books you've been itching to read.
Or better yet, pick one of the plethora of food places around the Dorchester area within 10-15 minute walk.
Two favorite African food spot are little out of the way in the Dorchester/Mattapan area. They're called Safari African Restaurant and Pelloma Nigerian Cuisine. Try the famous Egusi soup at Pelloma or the Jollof rice at Safari.

You can tell a lot of effort has been put into the presentation of the house as it relates to the decor. We did run into an issue with the ac and water heater but luckily the host is so responsive it was taken care of timely. We also encountered a smell on the first floor that lasted the entire time we were there but luckily the living areas and bedrooms are in floors 2 and 3.

The rental was clean, and the bedroom and living arrangement was great. The parking in the back of the building made life so much easier. Located very close to Boston, only 15 minutes into the city. Would stay again.

We had a great stay at the Back. Dorch! The property was as advertised. Very spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated with all the needed amenities. I was expecting it to be noisy being close to UMASS but was a relatively quiet street. It was close to the city to either drive or take the T. Ulrich checked in to ensure we had what we needed. The whole process and stay was extremely smooth. Would highly recommend this location.

This was a great house for our family group. It was close to all the things to do. My only complaint would be the neighborhood. But no major complaints. Would recommend it to others.

We stayed a night only thankfully. Up against the back of the house was debris and junk stacked up against the apartment building. When you walk in the front door there is a stairway to take you to the 2nd flr. The apartment was HOT when we got there at night. The bedrooms and livrm. have old window a/c units. We had to wait a long time for the apartment to cool down. I'll try to do a list because there is a word limit 1. a comforter had CRUSTY brown stuff on it (I think it was poop). 2 I couldn't keep my kids in the bunkbed room the window a/c unit sounded like a garbage disposal. I had to drag a mattress into my bedroom so they could sleep. 3. The bathrooms have no a/c so if your getting ready it gets hot. 4.The kids' and king bedroom are on the 3rd floor, my husband is a disabled Vet so getting around was difficult for him and its just hotter. The neighborhood is loud and they leave cheap earplugs on every bed, so unless its for the "clickity clack" college students on their computers that they advertise, I am sure they know that the neighborhood is loud at night with people yelling on the street. I let the owners know about the loud a/c, crusty brown stuff on the comforter and a pot smell that we woke up to on the 3rd floor. This was their response "Thanks for the feedback. I’ll share that with my crew. There should have bed covers. My apologies for the inconvenience" That's the response I got after like 3 hours of sleep. Seriously don't waste your money.
