About this house rental
Your home away from home in the heart of the South Broad Ripple neighborhood. There's a Fresh Market grocery store, a dozen vibrant dining options, and live entertainment ... all within a very short walk. Enjoy the nightlife in Broad Ripple or walk/bike to the nearby Monon Trail. Or stay in & grill out on the backyard patio. Less than a 20-minute drive to the Circle downtown. Only a 1-minute walk to the Rapid-Transit Red Line stop. Two dedicated parking spots, with plenty of free street parking.
THE SPACE //
This home has all of its original charm and grace, with classic bungalow styling and character. We're so excited to share it with you!
BEDROOMS //
There are two bedrooms on the main floor, each with queen beds. One bedroom has a full closet, the other features a large vanity & mirror for getting ready for that special event or night out. The third bedroom upstairs (accessed via the kitchen) has two twin beds, a dedicated workspace, and a mounted TV (with an Amazon Firestick). Tell the kids to bring their gaming system and enjoy the oversized beanbag arm chair.
BATHROOM //
There is one bathroom on the main floor, in-between the two primary bedrooms, with a full shower/tub, a hair dryer, and of course plenty of clean towels.
LIVING ROOM //
The spacious living room has a large sectional sofa with a chaise, an arm chair & Barcalounger (I didn't understand the appeal until I sat in this one), and a 65" smart TV. The TV stand is full of board games, playing cards, and poker chips. The beautiful, original built-in cabinets on either side of the fireplace are stocked with a mini-library of classical works of fiction, biographies, and books on art & history - there's something for everyone.
DINING AREA //
The dining area has a table which seats 6 easily (several table leaves provided in the closet), and large double-doors into the living room makes the space flow together seamlessly. There is a coffee & beverage nook for early-risers (coffee filters & Folgers provided) and mixologists. It would also double as a great place for a taco bar if you're staying on a Tuesday. There is also a coat closet in the dining area if you need to hang up more clothes or winter coats during your stay.
KITCHEN //
The large, open cook's kitchen flows into the dining area via a peninsula countertop with barstools to seat three comfortably. There is a 4-burner gas range & oven, a large sink with a garbage disposal, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, and full-size fridge (with filtered water and an icemaker). We have provided all the basic necessities for cooking & baking if that's your jam.
PATIO //
The back patio is a great spot to grill on the 3-burner gas BBQ, roast some marshmallows over the firepit, or dine outside under the pergola. There is a patio table and enough chairs to seat 8, and we have strung up some overhead lights to make sure the vibes are immaculate.
PORCH //
The large, covered front porch has a porch swing and a café table with two chairs. The view from the front porch is certainly unique - our bungalow is nestled just behind the Fresh Market grocery store across the street. You'll notice shoppers walking to and from the neighborhood, the loading dock down the street, and if an employee forgets to close its gate you'll see the dumpster too. But hey, that's a small trade-off for the unbeatable location that you're going to enjoy.
LOCATION //
You are within a 2-minute walk of the corner of 54th & College Ave with a half-dozen restaurants, bars, live music venues, and of course Fresh Market grocery store. Indy's rapid-transit Red Line has a stop that's a 1-minute walk away. About a quarter-mile down 54th street there are another half-dozen places to eat and have fun, as well as an entrance to the Monon Trail, which allows you to walk/run/bike all the way downtown or as far north as Carmel.
GUEST ACCESS //
You'll have the whole home to yourself during your stay.
There is a smart-lock with a keypad on the back door and you'll be given a custom code prior to check-in.
Washer & dryer are in the unfinished basement. As with almost any 100-year old home in the area, the basement does get some rainwater seeping in from the foundation from time to time, but its nothing to worry about.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE //
The home is equipped with high-speed fiber optic Wifi for your remote work or gaming needs. We've clocked the Wifi at 640.7 Mbps download & 731.6 Mbps upload, but internet speeds depend on several factors like time of day, internet traffic, location relative to the router, etc.
The fireplace is non-functioning, and should not be used.

Cozy bungalow had a charming historic feel, was clean, well appointed, perfectly sized for our family of four, and in great location – just steps from Fresh Market, one block from numerous great restaurants, and short easy drive to Lucas Oil Stadium, where our event was being held. Host was communicative and friendly. Stay here and you’ll be as pleased as we were!

We were pleased with our stay in the bungalow. Very clean, very well supplied, comfortable beds, close to family and food! No doubt we’ve found our next VRBO in Broad Ripple.

Perfect stay, all 4 adults had a comfortable bed and the house was tidy and spacious, and is in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood. An excellent grocery store at your doorstep and lots of restaurants in easy walking. We highly recommend this home!

Slayed with my husband, daughter our good friends and their daughter to view the eclipse. Loved the neighborhood!
The housed was spotless, and our friend who is a chief was very pleased with the well stocked kitchen. Loved the backyard and front porch and all the communal places and also places for more privacy. Would definitely stay again.
