My stay was wonderful room was extremely clean

My family is very picky with hotel stays. It takes a lot to please them. This hotel checked all the blocks. The entry was tastefully decorated, elevators and hallway were clean and odorless. Room was large and clean. The sheets were pristine, and comfortable. Room is retouched daily and restocked with enough bath towels. Walking out to be back was tastefully manicured pools extending to the beach. The pools were also maintained and the workers weee attentive to our needs.
It is a little bit on the pricey side but you pay for what you get. I have recommended this hotel to many of my family and friends.

Felt this hotel had recently been renovated and was just finding its feet. Staff very friendly....Aircon absolutely vicious-made it impossible to stay in public areas.

This is a great hotel. Nice and clean with great amenities. I stay here whenever I’m in Nassau

The hotel just opened in Dec 2023 after a complete renovation so everything is clean and new. Lots of lounge chairs at the pool and beach which were never overly crowded, but the beach is small. Cruise ship port is next to the property so ships come and go every morning and late afternoon/early evening, but you can’t hear them. Overall great stay with friendly attentive staff.

Cost of food and drinks in restaurants too high.

I came to visit the Bahamas for vacation and it was amazing. Had a blast if you are looking for a great hotel choose
British Colonial its a beautiful place!

Very short but enjoyable one night stay

Horrible. I have stayed here 20 times since 2005. Even the hotel staff disparages the new foreign ownership. The hotel did not process the $42 credit on two separate occasions only to have to please ten times to get refunded. My visa had $760 fraudulent charges on it where the hotel said wait 7-10 days it’s just our system we can write you a letter. The bathroom had feces on the toilet seat and hair balls on the floor. The cheese was rotten at dinner where I threw up into my towel. I will never stay here again people should be forewarned

very beautiful building and very well maintained. The pool is the perfect temperature and the bar is just incredible. Great location too as right in the heart of Nassau so you can easily get to the top attractions and get a proper local meal.
The two big issues with this hotel are: 1 they let in people from the cruise ships, so the pool can be totally overrun with people who aren't paying. Second issue was that the internal restaurants are a bit dull and over priced for what they were. Room service especially needs a revamp.

Food far too expensive. Paid $40.00 for a very limited breakfast buffet.

SHOWERS TOO SMALL, AND TOILETS LOW. WHEN SITTING ON TOILETS,YOUR GENETALIA TOUCHES THE WATER. DONT ENJOY THE CASHLESS SYSTEM.

Excellent service, clean, absolutely stunning. Staff are amazing and friendly. The beach is perfect with plenty of beach chairs. The pool is clean and plenty of chairs, cabanas. Dimetre from service desk was respectful and fast to answer all our questions on checking in, Eric was very helpful to give us local information,
housekeeping is outstanding. Definitely planning on going back!

The elegance of this hotel is breathtaking. While there are surely more upscale hotels in Nassau, the British Colonial is a strong competitor. I stay there for business, and its location is perfectly situated--near the airport and restaurants. Their bar and restaurants offer simple to fine dining options. Their service staff is exceptional--both professional and friendly. They will continue to be my go-to hotel for business, but for those who wish to have a resort experience, please consider them as an option.

Amazing resort we absolutely loved our stay!! Perfect for a girls trip!

What a gorgeously renovated hidden gem in downtown Nassau. Spacious, clean rooms with stellar views of the Caribbean.
Amazing private beach that allowed you to relax from the hubbub of downtown. Water activities as part of this beach, with a beach bar - what more could you ask for.
Will absolutely come back the next time I’m in Nassau.

I was told this hotel has a business center. Lie. It does not have a business center. I had to go to other hotel and pay to use a computer and printer.

The staff were amazing especially Dimitri and Erik. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The bar staff were amazing. It was close to a lot of main spots downtown. It made my honeymoon amazing. 100/10 recommended. The price is worth everything.

We enjoyed the private beach and the outdoor areas. Room and inside of hotel was nice but could have been cleaner. Bathrooms by the pool were not attended to for the days we were there as there was no soap the entire time in one of them.
All that was ok to deal with but our biggest complaint was the food in a couple of the restaurants within the hotel. Sakura (ramen and sushi restaurant) served us ramen which was way overcooked with what tasted like imitation lobster, dry pork belly, and no spice to the “spicy lobster ramen.” Accompanied with a server who was clearly annoyed with serving us, this dinner was not a good experience but we chalked it up and moved on. Then our last night we ate at the Mahogany Club. This restaurant seemed to offer more high end meals and service than the tavern or Sakura. We were sorely mistaken. From the time we sat down the service was awkward. 2 different people kept switching back and forth waiting on us so many times we had to repeat what we wanted to 2 different people. We were interrupted and pressured to order before we even got our drinks and then when we did get our drinks delivered, a whole glass of wine was spilled on my partners shirt and lap. And they tried to charge us for that glass of wine….I asked what seafood was in the seafood spaghetti. I was told clams, mussels, and conch. When it came out it had calamari, shrimp, and mussels. When asked the waiter replied they must have subbed ingredients if they were out of some.

My check in experience was not welcoming. It felt like the agent did not want to serve me. I was not given any instructions on what was on the property or how to get to my room. But the property is nice.

Great people everywhere. Service and friendliness was simply amazing. As a matter of fact everyone we encountered on the island was friendly. Clean rooms, good foods and private beach very relaxing.

Very few restaurant options (not fast food) that are open after 5pm in downtown. They seem to close after cruise ship passengers get called back to ship at 4.30pm. Hotel has 2 restaurants, but must like that type of food offered.

Loved this hotel. Absolutely gorgeous. Staff was incredible. This was my second time staying there, and the second time only 1 elecator was working. The restaurants are great, but way overpriced. $45 for breakfast is just absurd. Fortunately there is a McDonalds across the street so Egg McMuffins for everyone. All said, no place is perfect. Overall I love this place and will stay there again.

Great property, excellent staff. Room is good, but shower stall is too small, with an odd glass door that’s doesn’t allow access to shower fixtures. Feels claustrophobic. Overall is great for a short stay

Wow. This place is great! Smiles on all personal and great attention to being helpful. Training department here could give lessons to other hotels on the island. Good morning/ good afternoon and how’s your stay spoken often and with sincerity. I will be back for sure! So fun watching the big ships coming in and docking. Quite a site to see them turn around in the bay. Food was good at the hotel and in the area. Really liked Smugglers and The Bush Garden. Art museum and Church past Smugglers is good too.
