Nestled among the pines in one of North Lake Tahoe's most beloved locales, this luxurious home brings alpine warmth and ambiance to your Kings Beach getaway. This is a place for summer barbecues on the stone terrace, winter evenings spent playing pool by the fireplace, and nightly soaks in the hot tub beneath shimmering skies full of stars.

The location of this two-story home is both serene and convenient, with Lake Tahoe itself visible from the backyard. You'll be mere minutes from Kings Beach State Recreation Area (less than two miles), NorthStar California Resort (5.5 miles), Incline Village (seven miles), Sand Harbor (11 miles), Tahoe City (10 miles), and charming downtown Truckee (12 miles).

The interior is full of luxe finishes, from air conditioning in the bedrooms (a rarity at Lake Tahoe!) and a whole-house humidifier system, to professional-grade kitchen appliances including a Viking refrigerator, a Wolf gas range, and a wine cooler for entertaining. You'll find ample seating at every turn - an expansive kitchen island, a cozy dining nook, a plush living room with a smart TV, and the billiard room with its floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace.

In the summer months, sip your coffee (Drip coffee maker), dine alfresco at the large table with a fire feature in the center, or simply breathe in the fragrant pine air on the terraced patio, the large deck, and two levels of balcony space. The expansive backyard offers a quiet space to relax or play on the lush lawn and backs to open forest with hiking trailheads just steps from the yard.

All three bedrooms are upstairs, each paired with its own full bathroom for privacy. Of the bedrooms, two have direct balcony access and two are outfitted with desk workspaces so you can log onto the complimentary WiFi in peace.

This home does have air conditioning in each of the upstairs bedrooms, as well as a whole-house humidifying system.

Seven women ages 65-82 have traveled 33 years together with most stays at VRBO listings. The Canterbury Chalet met our bedroom and bath requirements. Comfortable beds and attached bathrooms very welcomed. We do have one big criticism of the well equipped kitchen with the latest and greatest...the small coffee bar contained a single serve Keurig requiring kcups and a single serve Nespresso also needing coffee pods. Arriving late evening, it wasn't discovered until the next morning (Sunday) that 7 of us would not be able to have a hot cup of coffee unless a trip was made to the grocery store to get kcups. Daunting task if all seven wish to sit down together to enjoy a hot cup of coffee. I waited until 9:00 when Ace Hardware opened and purchased a 12 cup coffeemaker so that we would be able to enjoy our morning coffee together. This is the first time in 29 vrbo rentals that we have not had access to a 12 cup coffee maker as we travel with a freshly ground package of coffee to start our first morning together then after taking inventory of what is suppled, we make a shopping trip. I suggest that the write up description of that lovely kitchen include the listing of two single serve coffee makers requiring coffee pods or better yet, the owner purchase a 12 cup coffee maker. It was a disappointing start to a great place to vacation. BTW...our purchased coffee maker was NOT left behind.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A beautiful, clean home, just as described. We loved the kitchen/family room as a great gathering place. The back yard was the nicest of all of the cabins we have ever rented in Tahoe. We like to hike and there are miles of trails in the forest behind the house. We will stay here next year too.

We really enjoyed our summer vacation at Canterbury Chalet. It was perfect for two families with more than enough space inside the house and outside in the backyard. The property has modern updates and anything you may ever need ("well stocked kitchen" is an understatement - it even had Instant Pot!). The property management company was very responsive whenever we had any questions, and at the same time the chalet had very cozy and home-like feel. The backyard is huge (extending into the forest) and meticulously maintained, with jacuzzi and hammock - we could spend all our time there and be content. Finally, Canterbury Chalet is conveniently located within a few minutes drive to Kings Beach, Safeway, and all kind of restaurants. This is one of those rare properties where we would love to return to. Thank you for hosting us!

The Canterbury Chalet is a great place. It is beautifully decorated throughout and stocked with everything we needed. The backyard is also a great place to spend time with a nice hot tub and grille. I'd certainly stay here again and recommend to friends.

This is a beautiful home. It has everything you need to have a great stay in the North Lake Tahoe area. We had a few issues with the air conditioning but the rental company was very efficient and took care of the problem right away. Hope to be go back someday!

To say this is a special property would be an under statement. This is a HOME more than a rental that is clearly loved by the owners. The attention to detail, furnishings, kitchen amenities, and even flowers in the garden are so far beyond what you would typically find in renting a vacation home. From the wonderful welcome basket, and attention to every detail - our stay was incredible. I felt like I was in my own home with my own knives, appliances, and the comfort of my own bed. Huge thanks to the owners for sharing this property, you have done an incredible job with your home and we feel blessed to have been able to enjoy it.

We rented this home to meet our son and his family for our granddaughters 8th birthday. The home is beautiful with all the amenities you could need for an extended stay near the lake. It is close to the shops, restaurants, grocery store and beach area. Considering our rental was for the Memorial Day Weekend we didn't really have any issues with a lot of people or traffic while we were there. This house is a great place to come and enjoy for a quiet relaxing get away. Thank you for the opportunity to stay at your home It was greatly appreciated Thanks

Everything was perfect, very modern appliances in the kitchen, with bedrooms and bathrooms for all and equally luxurious. The pool table was a hit with all as well as the spa which had very good jets for our sore bodies after a day of snowboarding. The location was perfect, only 10 minutes from Northstar. The market and a few restaurants only 5 minutes away. We would definitely come back.
