There was a noise issue during my stay, which was only partially resolved, is the main reason for my lower rating. Great service from the front of house and restaurant team! Food was very good.

Great hotel really classic. Awesome location right in the city. Great help from staff re local eateries and travel and attractions.
Older hotel but clean and well looked after, rooms a bit smaller if you are used to more modern hotels but no issue for our family of 3.

Paid for high floor with city view. Was on 5th floor with a very limited view. When booking it said that was the total cost everything including but ended up having to pay an additional $40 resort fee at check out.
Hotel and staff were great, not sure if the issue is with it hotel or a misprint on hotels.com

I have stayed at the property over four decades on and off. The rooms have been remodeled and now are quite charming. The remodel brings the property to modern standards while retaining a quaintness that was comfortable.

Beautiful building! Polite staff. Awesome location. Cute room and decor, although very small. Heater worked and kept us warm. Comfy bed. Cool bar/lounge. Hotel Valet was awful. We rounded the city for 30 minutes trying to get into valet with no luck. Room did not have black out blinds so we were woken up as soon as the sun hit the window. Not to mention the drums that went off at 7am from protesters (not the hotels fault). Also our room was near the elevator and we could hear it all night and morning long. Sounded like a large cart going up and down the hall. Even with the cons I would return.

Good, the manager tried to rectify the situation by offering the two free drinks, however there was so much negative aspects about my stay. Both check in and check out girls were rude and cold. The check in girl was so cold and her hatred and racial prejudice was palpatable. While napping,a staff member opened my door and walked in. This was not house keeping. I felt very violated and unsafe. The next issues were out of their control. Fire alarm went off for twenty minutes the second night and there were protestors picketing for 1hour each night starting at 6am!!! As a solo black female traveler, I felt unwelcomed and ignored.

Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the room well appointed, amd the location perfect for easy transportation to enjoy the city. This was my 4th trip to SF this year and this was the best of 4 hotels.

Loved the room, which wasn’t as spacious as it looked/described on their website. Water pressure was slow. Staff/service was great.

The checkin experience was very bed - they gave room which is very bed and insisted they I should upgrade by paying additional $50 - even that was not having a proper view - hot water at shower was malfunctioning . For any matter I was asked to call Hotel.com - which also did not helped

I usually stay at Marriott across the street, and I was happy to book this historical hotel. The room was perfect for one person business travels, with comfortable bed, tasteful deco, thoughtful design. The service and atmosphere at the Post restaurant and bar were superb, and the food and drink impressive. I will stay here again.

The stay itself was OK they were drums going most of our time in the room from the protests. We’ve all later car paid $75 for valet just for the valet to steal a cell phone from the car, we had a location services turned on this phone and it kept going from the parking garage to the hotel. They were telling us they had no idea what we were talking about.. we walked down to the parking garage, and in that time it made its way back to the hotel and then somehow ended up in the car after we searched the car for over 45 mins . This made us feel so unsafe and like we could not trust this expensive vallet and ended up taking the car early cause we didn’t trust our things being in there

The reservation was for VIP. My 2 drink vouchers were not given at check-in. I had to ask for them. They were nice to drop them off to my room. The person that checked me in spoke very low I really had a hard time hearing him. It came with bottled water which is always a plus.
The bed was comfortable. Though several protesters at Marriot were loud. The room was not bad, the clock is broken. The restroom was beautiful. The room was average, the price was high. Location was great. Close to union square.

Good hotel, with excellent roof top bar and lobby bar. The stay was impacted by demonstrations from 7am to 10pm outside and despite being on the 9th floor, was incredibly noisy in our room. Rest was impossible given we had just completed an 11 hour flight. An impossible situation for the hotel and its guest's.

Stay was nice - the protestors across the street were a drag. I had to move to an interior room to get away from the noise. It's very loud. Liked the location, near Union Square; bathrooms are pretty tiny. Staff were all very hospitable and accommodating. The bar/restaurant was better than expected. A welcome surprise.

Last minute booking and they were able to fit me in. Theyve done a grand job on refurbishing a beautiful old hotel, keeping all its grand finishes and character. This was a great stay for downtown SF

We loved the room, location, and hospitality of the staff. I utilized the gym and the facility was fantastic.
The starlight bar was very cool!
The check in and out process was seamless. We were also able to leave our bags after checkout as we weren’t quite ready to head to the airport.

Loved this hotel especially the bars. One bar on top floor and one in lobby — both had incredible drinks. Top floor bar had amazing views and drinks, but the service was lagging.
The shower leaked all over our bathroom because it had a very small glass “door”

Just spectacular. Amazing place, amazing stay. Little bit of a weird layout whereas you have to go down to get in the elevator if you have luggage because of the stairs. But that’s not a ding just an observation. This place is new since I lived in San Francisco at least the brand, I would stay there again 100%. Oh and the location? Forget about it, best in the city by far.

Advertised adjoining rooms, and I wrote at the time of booking asking that our rooms would be together and adjoined, they in writing confirmed. We had my daughters 16th birthday and intended for two rooms to adjoin so that their sleep over would be all together. When we got there the front desk said they have no adjoined rooms in the hotel. And very rudely said our rooms wouldn't all be on the same floor and that I had to prove I'd gotten confirmation because it was in no way possible on a busy weekend. After I went to pull out my proof of confirmation she told me to just go sit down and about 20 minutes later she changed our rooms to be together.
