My day was lovely. It was very convenient for a business event I was attending. As a solo traveller, it felt very safe and welcoming. However, my room didn’t have a window, which wasn’t communicated to me during the booking process. I’ve never stayed in a room without a window before, and this wasn’t ideal. They were staining on the carpets and the tiles in the bathroom had splashes of what I presume was bleach, where they looked like they couldn’t be cleaned. The room was comfortable though and I took advantage of room service, which was efficient and tasty.
The staff were absolutely brilliant. Between getting through the front door to entering my hotel room, I was welcomed to buy at least 15 members of staff.
Breakfast was delicious. Lots of high-quality options.
I would definitely return.

Was asked to use the sister hotel that does not have the same facilities as they had made a clerical error, I refused they found a basement room as the “only room available” - does not have a window (not what I had booked) so refused that room (despite them saying it’s fully booked) they then found a perfectly good room for me. You should not have to go through all of that just to have the room you booked. And to be lied to that there are no rooms and that I was lucky they had one! - it’s what I booked!

The bad:
- Bed mattress was old and springs had completely given in.
- Room control panel didn’t work so impossible to control the temperature and air con.
- Spa and pool area is tiny and can only cater for about 6 guests at a time before it feels overcrowded and people start having to put towels and robes on the floor.
- Had two fire alarms at 11pm and 1.15am so completely ruined night sleep.
The good:
- Restaurant and breakfast on the top floor was excellent, as were the staff working up there.

Stayed for a night to celebrate my Birthday but my planned night out got ruined because i was left in a very dark room without light while i was getting ready to go for my dinner reservation. Even the concierge who came to help me move room was shocked by the state of the room without any light. Ended up being very late so have to cancel my dinner plan. What a disaster. Don't you check everything is working in the room before allocating it to guests? This is not acceptable. Your touch screen system does not work so well even in the new room provided its very slow.

We really enjoy staying at Montcalm hotels , we have stayed at the brewery several times and have always had amazing stays with comfortable beds . We decided to stay at the royal London house this time, the entrance and staff are all lovely and very welcoming. The aviary bar was great and we had breakfast which was also very good the morning we left. The only downside was the comfort of the beds , we did have a large dip in our matress , we did mention this to reception and they moved us to another room which was better but still not as great as last time we have stayed at the Montcalm .

When we checked in they told us to pay 260 for wifi and all the amenities in the room, including breakfast, we paid mostly for breakfast, but when we left they charged us 76 for breakfast, and the truth is we didn't like it because they told us it was already included, also the minibar and the cocktails with open bar, we didn't like the cocktails very much maybe it was that we didn't make the appropriate choice for our taste, we also had the bad luck that when we went the pool, the spa and the gym were under renovation and we couldn't use them we had to walk 10 minutes to another hotel they had. We believe that with all those problems they shouldn't have charged us so much, they should have given us a discount for the inconvenience, but the people were all very kind we have no complaints about that.

Good location, seems that property been refurbished. Great staff. Cleanliness could be better, mattress cover had stains (accidentally pulled out the cover while pulling out the duvet as it was tucked in) and it had a big brown stain. Not great.

Everything was wonderful, staff, Clean, cafeteria, all very polite and attentive. I will say though that the mattress felt old and lumpy, so did the pillows.
