We absolutely loved this house. It's right on the water, and the owners provide so many fun things. It was the perfect home base for a San Juan adventure, but there was plenty available to keep you occupied if you never wanted to leave the house.
The only negatives were the hot water ran out quickly and the upstairs bathroom had a bit of a smell. But these weren't issues that ruined our fantastic week there.

Easy, quiet, convenient location

Easy walk to Roche Harbor, Quiet area. House well stocked . Very roomy for big family.

The house was nice in a great location. We had some issues with the condition of the crab pots and one of the kayaks, but the owner was very nice about it and offered us a small refund as that is the main reason we rented this home. If you are going to go crabbing, make sure the ropes to the pots and the hole in the one single kayak are fixed first. I would also recommend some type of umbrella for the back deck. The hammock was amazing!

Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of family games. Access to the mud boots was great for exploring at low tide.

We had a great trip. 2 couples had plenty of room. Great view and exceptionally well stocked kitchen and water toys.

Beautiful waterfront home in a great location close to Roche Harbor. Property was very clean and beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, supplies, and some basic cooking items.
We briefly met our host and she was very friendly and welcoming.
Would definitely stay at this property again.

This property was an amazing stay. My friends and I had a great time exploring San Juan Island and the property was the perfect place to stay. I would recommend this house to anyone.

Property is showing it's age. Septic alarms one night, broken water line and flood another day. Property management response was excellent but we lost 2-3 days of vacation waiting for repairs. House is well equipped but barbecue was too dirty to use. We had to share the property with 4 owners family members unexpectedly which limited our privacy. Dock was very useful for boat access and sitting. Overall a good vacation but we would not rent again.

The location is ideal, walkable to Roche Harbor and in a beautiful setting on the bay. The owners stay in an adjacent cabin, and are very friendly and helpful. We used the bikes and kayaks which are major plus. The home is well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked (spices, utensils, etc). One minor thing is that the main bedroom shower is tiny and tricky to get water temp right, but fine. Would rent again.

The setting was gorgeous and the house was very well appointed. We had a lovely stay!

Perfect Spot for Roche Wedding. Just far enough to have some space and close enough to walk around. Great house and yard to relax.

Our family had a great time staying in the house. In addition to the Island activities, the kids went kayaking every day, dug for clams, played the board games in the house, watched movies, and enjoyed the view. The boots available to dig for clams were a very nice touch for the amenities.
The stay was overwhelmingly positive, a couple negatives were the cottage next door was used while we were there and it was unclear if we were supposed to share the kayaks. Kathy assured us there wouldn’t be a problem and there wasn’t. The other negative for us was the hint of cat smell or old house smell. We have cat allergies and did not have any issues so it wasn’t a big deal, but concerned us at first.

We loved the house’s proximity to Roche Harbor. We walked up to the general store and restaurants a few times, which was fun. I wish the water heater had more capacity, as we ran out of hot water after each shower. Overall, it’s a peaceful, relaxing place to stay!

This place is the best stocked place I have rented. Nothing forgotten.

Our family had such an amazing stay at this property. The location was amazing, right on Westcott Bay, walkable to Roche. There were games and water equipment perfect for our daughter, I would highly recommend the property and will try to stay here again!

Great location; conveniently close to Roche Harbor (walks, pickleball). Had all the amenities needed at the house. Would suggest, if possible, trimming lower branches on trees for better view of the bay and replacing old light switches.

I've rented several houses near Roche Harbor over the years for my kids and grandkids to stay in while my husband and I are there on our boat. This was by far the nicest and most convenient. Very roomy, nice and clean, and the distance to Roche Harbor and the marina was an easy walk/bike ride. Kathy was very helpful and responsive when my kids arrived early and wanted to know if they could check in early. It was a great stay!

Had a great stay. Kids loved exploring the tide flats.

Excellent location, nice house, proper amenities. Only negative were that mattress were a little too firm for my old man back. 7 stars out of 10.

The pictures online make this place look pretty dark and dingy, but it’s actually quite bright, has great views from the bedrooms, and is much closer to the beach than expected! However, the beds are terrible in every room, and everyone from the youngest person (14) to our oldest (75) complained about waking up with back pain. I actually had to move from the twin bedroom in BR3 to the couch because the springs were digging into my body.

This house has everything a multi-generational family on vacation would want. The amenities in this home are incredible:
* Kitchen has everything and then some. You can cook anything with confidence that the proper tools or plates will be there.
* Lots of fun board games to pick from. We played Scattergories and laughed so much.
* There are kayaks to launch practically right off the back deck. Wescott Bay is tranquil and simply gorgeous.
* There are bikes in the shed
* There are black welly-type boots to wear if you want to explore the Bay at low tide.
The deck overlooks the Wescott Bay with stunning views and ample wildlife to view.

As other reviews have mentioned, some aspects are shabby and worn and could use replacing - kids mattresses in the numb bed room, kitchen cabinets, living room furniture. For us the experience was really marred by the creatures in the area…the night before we got there, raccoons had gotten into the trash and made a mess. Then our first night, they actually ripped open a screen window, came into the kitchen, and demolished a loaf of bread! Furthermore, the neighbor next door has a big, red Macaw parrot that makes the most unholy screeching noises VERY loudly, so if you’re trying to enjoy time outdoors beware. Also, while we were there one of the (old) toilet handles broke and I had to go to the hardware store and get a replacement part and fix it myself so that we were not down to 1 toilet with 4 people over the holiday weekend. I sent pictures and a receipt but the property manager seems to have ghosted me instead of reimbursing - and frankly, sparing them a handyman call and cost should get some thanks!

Easy location walking distance to Roche Harbor. The house was bigger than the picture. A bit dated and worn but it does the trick. Bring eye masks for summer as the light starts streaming in around 4:30am. Kids had a great time playing around the dock. Idyllic location!

The house is very comfortable and the property location amazing! Our family of 5 adults and a 2 yr old had a wonderful time exploring the island. Very quiet and relaxing.
Kathy was quick to respond to a question.
There isn't a door on the upstairs bedroom but there is a baby gate.
Fun weekend!!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Walking into the house the first night, we had a spectacular view of the full moon over the bay through the picture window. The house was very comfortable and was exactly as described. I would love to stay here again.

We could not have selected a better property for time with our kids and grandkids. House completely stocked with not only living essentials but also kayaks, bikes, and essentials for clamming which our grand girls did for hours. Easy 10 minute walk to Roche Harbor resort facilities and easy 15 minute drive to Friday Harbor. Kathy was especially helpful and immediately available solving a couple of minor normal problems that arose. Right on the water, absolutely beautiful views. We highly recommend!

We had a delightful stay in this comfortable home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals. The views are stunning. We used the on-site kayaks every evening to explore the peaceful bay and meet the resident harbor seal.
It’s a cozy, homey spot our family loved.

It is a beautiful place to stay.

The photos do not do this property justice! We just wish we were able to stay longer.

Overall it was a lovely home with beautiful views and good proximity to many things. It was nice to be away from the touristy area of Friday Harbor but still close by. Its important to note there is no door on the master bedroom and a large window which sends in lots of morning light. Also the property is listed as having 2 parking spaces but only comes with one due to a small cabin on the same property.

We had a fabulous time clamming, kayaking and bird watching. It was a short walk to the sculpture park and Roach Harbor. House was comfortable and my three kid fit in kids room 5, 7 and 10. Plenty of games and DVDs to chill after a day of exploration and playing at the beach.

The property is walking distance to Roche Harbor. It came with kayaks and is right on the bay so we went kayaking, it came with lots of games, the kitchen was fully stocked. Great place to spend time with friends and family.

This is our second stay at this lovely home with our 2 children. We love the space, well stocked kitchen (we prepared a full thanksgiving dinner here!) and the bay is so calm even as we enter the winter months. We even able to use the row boat to try our hand at crabbing! The sculpture garden is just around the corner and a hit for the whole family! We have loved our time here and will plan to stay again in the summer!

Gorgeous views from most rooms. However, did not know how 9 people could find a place to sleep. Beautiful king master upstairs, but downstairs only 3 single bunk beds and one double bed, which was too small for my 6 foot 4 husband, and me to share. So we slept in different rooms and we made it work. Loved the peace, the view, and the deck!

Great location and space, beautiful views and awesome proximity to Roche Harbor.

Wonderful spot for an extended family gathering with a warm, welcoming feel to the house that was well equipped for a group. Well stocked kitchen for cooking.

Beautiful location for a whale watching trip and long weekend getaway. Our VRBO home and owners were wonderful- very responsive, very accommodating. The home was super comfy, and the kitchen well appointed. We had use of bikes, kayaks, and clam digging equipment had we had time for all such adventures. 5 stars!
