About this house rental
My home is very simple, but clean and cozy. It is not luxurious, but you will find all of the necessities. No dishwasher. There is a television with a cord to connect it to a laptop but you will need your own streaming service.
My home features expansive ocean views framed by cypress trees and lovely gardens. The neighbors are friendly and it is just a short walk to the center of town and the beach. I will consider both pets and children on a per case basis.
Summerland is a great place. It is more peaceful than Santa Barbara but only ten minutes away so you get the best of both areas. And with Carpinteria just a few minutes south and Montecito just north, you can easily enjoy those towns as well.
My home has a lot of deck space, including a sofa under a covered patio perfect for a quick nap. While we do get the marine layer some days, on a clear day you can see the details of the Channel Islands. If you wake up to a foggy morning, it doesn't mean that it is also foggy in Santa Barbara. There is generally somewhere nearby where a beach day awaits.
The bedrooms are airy and pleasant. Each has a desk and a chair in case you or someone in your party is having a working vacation. The bathroom features some of the sea glass that I have collected over the years which has been incorporated into the shower.
In the kitchen you will find most of the utensils that you will need. If there is something missing that would enhance your stay, let me know. I was a restaurant/bakery owner for thirty years and probably have it! And if I do, I am happy to make it available for your use.
Almost directly in front of the house is a trail that leads to the center of our little hamlet of Summerland where you will find antique stores, boutiques, and cafes. In my kitchen are four thermal mugs from the local gas station/market called The Point. If you don't feel like making coffee, take the trail down to The Point with the mug. Their coffee is organic and ground with each cup, and only 99 cents if you use the mug! It's delicious! I like to take the path down, fill up my mug, and walk the two minutes to Lookout Park. There I sip my coffee while I sit on a bench and look for dolphins!
