Views were amazingly beautiful. Staff was helpful
Could use a renovation (i.e bathtubs, old telephones, bad wifi).

Location can’t be beat. Wonderful restaurant and bar in the hotel, several other restaurants very nearby. Walk to the lake cruise, which takes you to the ropeway, which takes you to the Hakone Open Air Museum. Stunning, stunning, stunning!
Staff is very helpful.
AstroTurf lawn for enjoying lake and Fuji view.
Guest lounge with free and wine vending machine is nice to have - a beautiful spot to gather.
Bathtub in 403 takes some thought to NOT get water all over floor!

Location by the lake.
Didn’t worth the money at all, the hotel looks new from the outside but very old inside. Room smelled abit moldy and breakfast wasn’t good at all very less choice had to order 1 dish per person which came very less and cannot ask for more.

Gorgeous views of Lake Ashinoko and Mt Fuji. Excellent location to easily board the sightseeing cruise across the lake. Delicious breakfast buffet, very friendly and helpful staff. Luggage storage was excellent. Welcome cocktail was a very nice touch.
Beds were very uncomfortable - mattress was hard. There were literally no dinner options around the hotel - the operating hours listed for every single restaurant within walking distance online were incorrect - and hotel dinner option was very expensive. Very few buses came at night so we ended up walking over a mile in the rain to get food at a pizza place.

basically an overpriced hotel that people book for the name

Amazing lication and service. Simply wonderful stay. Very limited but relevant food menu.
Can't point out deficiency.

View was sensational! Staff were excellent. Breakfast far exceeded expectations. Peaceful, wonderful location, bus from railway stations stops right outside the hotel. We purchased a Hakone Pass from railway station on arrival from Kyoto. The Pass covered the bus fares to our hotel plus pirate ship and much more. Certainly worth it. The Pirate ship is a couple of hundred metres from hotel. A couple of restaurants at hotel which included a French restaurant which we enjoyed very much. Also a few local restaurants nearby for lunch. We loved every minute of our stay. Beautiful area.

The view was great the hotel was clean very clean loved the history behind it
The fact that you charge by the individual in the room and that you don’t allow the customers to sleep on the same bed is and charging an extra 127$ is just gross. Also the room was hot along with the beds being very uncomfortable.

Everything was great, the location, the staff, we got a room with balcony and the view was just breathtaking, we spent hours relaxing and admiring Lake Ashi and watching the pirate ship sailing across the lake.
If you want a place to relax and enjoy nature then Hotel Hakone is for you.
As a muslim, the halal food options were kinda limited so it would wonderful if more can be added to accommodate muslim guests.

Everything good

Very spacious, comfortable room with panoramic windows. Closet space for a lot of luggage. A little far south within Hakone area. Fantastic view over lake and Fujisan.
Practically all restaurants and shops within walking distance close down around 17 p.m. The two hotel restaurants are expensive. Either have to take the bus or be by car. Rather limited service times for coffee, food, bar.

Brilliant location for exploring Hakone and surrounding areas with the most amazing views of the lake and Mt. Fuji (if you’re lucky enough to see it)! Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Would recommend.

The location was really good in terms of proximity of the ship departure area. Hotel room was spacious and comfortable. Nice view from the window. There is a sneak view of the lake even from the garden view room. Two onsite onsens are small but pleasant. Breakfast was good although could be more various giving the price and hotel standard. Not too many options especially for those allergic to milk (French cuisine inspired).
There aren’t a lot of restaurants around and those available are closed early (at least on Sunday). There was some confusion with the breakfast for a child. We had to pay extra at the checkout.

Very nice hotel with professional stuff. Expensive but perfect food which you can enjoy a lot. Rooms are big and hot springs facilities are also very nice which I recommend you to visit.
You will recognise after bathroom that this hotel was build long time ago and this part of the room would need renovation but generally it is nice hotel with big rooms.

Amazing view, very nice room and good beds. Bathroom slightly outdated decor and felt like it wasn’t quite as beautiful
as the rest of the facilities. Hot spring bath very nice.
The room was very warm, but we could open a window to cool down the air after asking the staff how to opem it up and slept very good :)

The view from the hotel room is magnificent and it is in a very quiet but convenient area - The boat can take you to popular areas and you come back to enjoy the serenity in the evening.
