About this apartment rental
Relax and enjoy your vacation in Anthemion Apartment Edinburgh, our beautiful first-floor apartment in Edinburgh's historic New Town. Our high-ceilinged Georgian flat combines original features and antique furniture with an up-to-the-minute kitchen and large shower room.
Although you can chill in our lovely residential area, you'll be within walking distance of many of Edinburgh's amazing sights, and can get here easily accessible from railway and bus stations and the airport. You'll love being close to the action but enjoy the luxury of retreating to the comfort and peace of Anthemion. We have free wifi, and an excellent selection of board games, books and guidebooks if you decide to have some time out from sightseeing. The high windows give a light, airy aspect, but you can still sit cozily in front of our living flame fire to while away the time.
Our kitchen is state of the art, equipped with an induction hob, fridge-freezer, oven, microwave and plate warming oven, and even a wine fridge, and we really hope to provide you with everything you could need during your stay. And there's a dishwasher and washing machine to lighten the load!
The dining area is modern and roomy for a convivial evening in.
Our spacious bedrooms are normally configured as one super kingsize and two single beds, but you can opt for two super kings or four singles, depending on your needs.
There are plenty of shopping opportunities, from little antique shops close by, to designer boutiques on George Street and department stores in Princes Street. You can go on foot to visit Edinburgh's museums, many of which are free, and a short stroll takes you to the Royal Botanical Gardens. There's no shortage of restaurants, and you are close to the beautiful Dean Village and trendy Stockbridge.
For couples and groups of friends, there are excellent restaurants and bars close by. Families will enjoy having a swing park for the children just a short walk away, and plenty of hands-on child-friendly activities in the National Museum of Scotland (who says museums have to be boring!) or laughing in the Camera Obscura. Edinburgh Buses are free to children under 5!
The New Town itself is a UN World Heritage Site and has some magnificent, elegant architecture. A feast for the eyes!
It's easy to get to us - just a five-minute walk from the tram and bus stations (the tram goes out to the airport) and 15 minutes from Waverley train station. For weekend visitors, on-street parking is free from Friday evening until Monday at 8:30am

My two friends and I stayed here for a 40th birthday trip. It’s a beautiful apartment in a great area! I loved the touches of old world charm along with the nicely updated kitchen and bathroom. Both the host and property manager were very responsive and communicative throughout. We had a really nice time, loved all the dining suggestions! We had a lovely time and are definitely planning a return trip!

Perfect base for the Edfringe. Spacious, comfortable two bedroom apartment with professional and friendly support from hosts.
Not cheap but well worth it.

Absolutely perfect place to stay while in Edinburgh! The property was well appointed and very well equipped. It is on the first floor up some stairs with no lift option. Not a problem for us. Overall great location to get to all of the normal Edinburgh sites, but tucked back enough that it was quiet at night. Would absolutely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Anthemion! Jan was such a kind host with prompt and helpful communication and recommendations before and during our stay. This flat was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed while there. We could not have found a better home away from home while on our Scotland vacation!

This place was very comfortable and quaint. It was clean and had every amenity we needed. We were within close walking distance of everything we wanted to see. The hosts were very kind and accommodating and responded to inquiries quickly. If you have mobility issues be aware that Edinburgh has hills but we loved this site and this city! I recommend this VRBO!

The location is superb - Edinburgh New Town and this street in particular is one of the best city locations in Europe. The property itself is absolutely magnificent and very special. An absolute gem and beautifully maintained. Far better than any hotel.

My family and I really enjoyed staying in this lovely flat. It's just as it's pictured. There were instructions for all of the appliances and garbage removal. They even have board some games and our family enjoyed playing a game of Yahtzee after a long day of sightseeing. There were plenty of hand and bath towels for our stay. We found the host to be very accommodating with a slightly earlier check in time. We really enjoyed our stay!

I was in Edinburgh for a family reunion and wedding. This beautiful flat was perfect and made our stay magical. It was wonderfully located and within walking distance of everywhere we needed to go. It was also an elegant, spacious and perfectly appointed home away from home with everything needed to be able to spend quality time with family. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Jan was incredibly kind and kept in touch. The apartment was lovely and clean and very close to bus stops to travel around Edinburgh.

We had a wonderful stay without any bad surprises. It started with the perfect pampering by the owner and ended with the easy check-out. The location (New Town) is optimal since many points of interest are within walking distance without any tourist hustle and bustle.
Spacious well-equipped rooms and fine beds (no pain in the back next morning).
Only thing to be considered if you intend to travel with friends: The only toilet is in the bathroom.
We strongly recommend without bar none.

We loved this flat! The high ceilings, the space…loved having a family room to relax in, and then having a large bathroom with plenty of space for three adults to share (my husband and adult son). It was well within walking distance to everything and the instructions, communication and amenities put it over the top. We will definitely be back

Gorgeous property, very private, and quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to so much we wanted to do. Fantastic place to come home to after exploring your beautiful city.

Jan, the host and Jon the manager were great with communication. Made it very easy and accommodating.
The apartment itself was great, much larger than we anticipated for just the three of us. Very comfortable and well appointed.
The location was good to walk to all the major attractions or the bus line was close by to go to Prince Street or the Royal Mile, if you prefer.
Highly recommend here.

This is a gorgeous spacious apartment in the heart of Edinburgh and within easy reach of all that Edinburgh has to offer. Excellent communication from everyone involved in this holiday let. Will definitely recommend to friends and try to come back in the future. Thank you Jan for all your help.

This apartment was so roomy for our family of 4. Our two teens had the twin beds in one bedroom, and my husband and I had the other bedroom with the king bed. The bathroom is so spacious, had plenty of counter space for the 4 of us. The kitchen was also roomy and very sleek. There is a Tesco right around the corner for snacks and drinks. We felt like we were out of the business of the city, but close enough to walk to most of the things we wanted to see. We would love to stay here again in the future!

One of the nicest properties we have ever stayed at. 15 minute walk to old edinbrough in quiet neighborhood. Host was great! If we get back, that's where we will stay.

Lovely fully-equipped flat.
Beds & pillows were extra comfy... with extra blankets & throws for those chilly nights.
The flat is within walking distance to most sites and convenient shops ( grocery/bakery etc) around the corner.

The apartment was beautiful, comfortable,
Spotlessly clean and in a great location. Everything we needed for a great stay was provided (apart from the weather!) and after a great day sightseeing, coming back to the cosy and warm apartment was lovely. We would definitely stay again.

We spent a wonderful week in this elegant apartment, brilliantly situated in the heart of Edinburgh’s Georgian New Town. It was the perfect base to explore all the city has to offer from the delights of Dean Village and Stockbridge all the way up to the historic Royal Mile and the Castle. The apartment was beautifully furnished with the perfect mix of charming antiques and contemporary comforts including a stunning kitchen. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone coming to explore Edinburgh.

Only occasionally do I stay in a rental property that I could imagine living in permanently, but this was certainly one. Encompassing the entire 1st floor (or 2nd floor to we Americans) of the building, it was a splendid mix of old/Georgian and new. A modern bath and kitchen, both very well outfitted, meant all the creature comforts of today. But the other rooms evoked the heritage of New Town. Central Edinburgh was just a short walk (uphill) away, but several bus lines served the street. And communication with the host was fabulous. Comfortable and quite, this is one to come back to.

Jan, the owner, and Jon, the property manager, were wonderful to deal with and the apartment was a home away from home. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet, but only a ten minute walk to the Old Town and Royal Mile. Would love to stay there again when we return to Scotland.

This flat kept to high standard. Great location, quiet for a good sleep, and stellar recommendations for dining, shopping, entertainments.
