Extensive property, gardens and facilities more than adequate. Rooms overlooking the lake are really nice! Laundry costs 50c a load plus detergent. The Ghost Town next door was a lifesaver because we enjoyed a full day of rain.
The main road is very close by and quite noisy. Sleeping with an open door or window is hence somewhat louder than normal.
The communal breakfast area was dirty and not cleaned all day.
The food served at the diner next door is not to be recommended and the waitress rather inefficient and slow.
WiFi is only available at a few central areas.

The setting is breathtaking. The gardens are gorgeous and we loved the museum and ghost town.
The beds were comfortable and the pillows were great!
It is definitely outdated but charming.

Ambiance is not good. Room’s dark. Dirty bathroom. Very hot during summer because no air-con. We slept with open doors to feel the cold breeze but still was hot. Noisy as well with the cars, trucks, and train. My family and I didn’t had a good sleep at all. We didn’t like the food in the restaurant either.

Location was fine, room was fine but really Needs and update.
The food was terrible in the restaurant, and prices were out of this world,50.00 for two burgers ,8.00 for a drink.

I love the veiw of the mountains, everything was old fashioned style so beautiful, the food was great, the people there are very friendly, the ghost town was amazing it's really huge took us 3 hours lol, and the train ride was adorable 😀. The pool was really cool, but I kinda wish it was bigger for everyone, the rooms are nice and clean, and it's hard to leave the gardens so pretty 😍

The view was amazing. And i loved the cool set up of the hotel. only wish i had ,ore time to explore around.
too many spiders in side doors and hallways... a minor inconvenience hardly worth mentioning.

Location, ghost town and the breath taking view from the room balcony
No wifi. beds, pillows and furniture not good. Table fan was given but it's legs were broken.

Our two level room was spacious enough for a comfortable stay. Highway can be noisy, but with the windows closed, it was very okay. Nice view of the lake and mountains. The gardens were beautiful for a stroll after dinner, and the adjoining Ghost Town was a very pleasant surprise. One can spend a full day just exploring the entire town without venturing out of the resort. And for half price plus unlimited in and out access, it was a good value indeed.
When we checked the website, it was printed on the lodge accommodation as having microwave appliance, but our room did not have one. It would have been perfect if it did, since we have leftover lunch that we ate for dinner. Taste would have been much better if warmed up.

The view
The screen door was broken so I couldn’t have fresh air come in

We had a beautiful room with a great view over the lake and gardens.
It was a little challenging due to the fact that I have a prosthetic lower right
leg. A low toilet makes it very challenging, but other than that, it was great.
Perhaps they could renovate a couple of rooms to accommodate persons with
physical limitations, as the rooms are small and create challenges.
Having said that, we would stay there again, anytime.

Beautiful view of the mountain and the lakers

The view and the grounds are amazing, very beautiful and would be highly desirable for all as it is truly a little paradise there and has been for some time so that only enhances its beauty. We have always drove through the area and said as a family how much we wanted to stay there. The staff were personable and friendly overall.
Cleanliness of the room could be improved. Comforters were quite dirty and had actual mess dried and hardened on the comforter upon us folding it over. The rooms are a little dated and our toilet rocked quite bad and so much so that I thought it might break. Prices of the food were very high for the quality provided, but do understand that logistics to this location might be a reason however it is right on the Trans Canada so do have some questions. Honestly on the bang for your buck a simple BLT with a drink should not run at that cost, not even close.

What a great get away. The staff are helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable. The ghost town was very interesting. And the scenery is stunning. We’re already planning our next visit.

Comfy beds, great view, hot breakfast is optional and reasonably priced. Be sure to leave time to check out the ghost town and museum.

Scenic setting
Beautiful setting. Once could have been ideal wedding setting, but not any longer. Sadly seen better days. Deteriorating property everywhere, particularly outside Could be a beautiful place, but weeds, overgrown trees, crumbling structures, peeling trim paint, dirty beach area, closed sections, old wrecked vans / cars / buses parked out back, obviously overworked staff. A good lawnmower, chainsaw, clippers, paint & a tow truck would be a great start. So much potential but such an overly sprawling property that maintenance & cashflow must be a killer. No A/C, which would fine if the rooms had a ceiling fan.
