Beautiful place! Love the atmosphere at this place. We stay here every time we end up in Portland and have never had a bad experience.
5.0
The location. It’s not directly in the city so it was nice.
No microwave in the room. It could of been helpful.
5.0
Location by the river was beautiful and food and beverages on site.
Nothing

Clean modern well located and loved the balcony
Room was not ready at 7 pm when we arrived even though check in was at 4 pm. We went to dinner and were told they would call when it was ready. At 10 pm we still hadn’t heard from anyone that it was ready. After a long day of travel, it was disappointing not to be able to check in and then to be forgotten. Also we had to pay $29 a day to park. We had to ask that be waived due to the check in hassle

The entryway
Being charged for parking. Also the smudged balcony window and the broken toilet paper holder. And being charged for a bottle of water.

Location was nice, staff was very friendly & accommodating, espresso bar was good.
When doing a remodel, someone really needs to stay overnight in a room so they can see how poor the design decisions were…
(1) you have to put your door card in a card slot to get the lights to work, but it’s dark & you can’t see the card slot or the instructions on it when you come into the room for the first time.
(2a) the thermostat had a temp range and wouldn’t go below 68 degrees. It was too hot and stuffy to sleep, but it didn’t matter because…
(2b) the new thermostats had backlighting that stayed on, illuminating the room ALL night. I turned the thermostat off and tried sleep mode but the backlighting stayed on. Considering this, it would be best to put the thermostat in the hall. I had to put a washcloth over it.
(3) I was traveling for work & had a zoom meeting, but all the lighting was behind me (on the bed-side of the room), and there was no lamp on the desk.
(4) Speaking of the desk, it was a nicely-designed desk with the desk on the left, a built in bookshelf in the middle, and a sitting bench on the right. The wall mirror was centered above the furniture piece, over the bookshelf so the mirror wasn’t useful at all
Really, these observations are nice design ideas that were poorly thought out. I would love to visit again if they can resolve these details above.

The location and the waterfront view 😍
Parking was difficult
3.0
Was excited to have a balcony, turned out to be on ground floor in the bushes. No river view 😢. Staff was friendly but nothing out of the ordinary. Personally wouldn't stay there again
3.5
Close distance to downtown Portland and quick access to Willamette River.
Be aware the rooms facing the river attract insect because of humidity so if you book a balcony room, all the bugs will swarm into your room.
5.0
The convenience to OHSU and the accommodation of the staff. They make it easy to be in Portland for medical appointments
1.5
River view balcony
Ac not working in the hotel. Fans blowing and hot in lobby and halls. Rooms next to ours under construction and our hall entry was dirty from work. Our balcony door didn't lock. Parking was EXPENSIVE.

Loved the staff!
Didn't love the size of the room.

Nothing. The building was all torn up, it took three rooms to get one that was even decent! Staff was not helpful, there was no restaurant or bar. Everything was a mess. I will never stay there again.
Everything was terrible! There was plastic over my smoke alarm. Shower wouldn’t drain and overflowed so I couldn’t take a shower. It was dirty, sheets are clean.

Welcoming, friendly staff! Room was spotless and newly remodeled. Even though the site was under construction for the remodel, the location and service can't be beat and I'm excited to see the finished product!
There is nothing not to like about River's Edge!

The property was under “renovation”. it was gutted down to studs and Sheetrock. It was incredible how filthy and unfinished the building was. No reception desk, reception, entry. it was horrible!
1.5
I could tell it will be a nice place after renovation, however, for what I paid while things were turned upside down, I will not pay what I'm guessing they are going to want to charge while not under construction.
Staff not very friendly. The place was expensive for the factor that we were one of the few people booked here because of construction. Fireplace didn't work. No phone in room. Not sure I will go back after the remodeling is done. Do not want to pay more then I already did just for some new paint and carpet.

Despite the construction noise & mess, the front office staff & services were good. The room was clean and comfortable.
Having to pay $29 to park in a lot across the street seems excessive to us. Most hotels offer parking included in the cost of the room, especially when it is so easy & convenient to the hotel.
We arrived late evening, and the property, being located on a deserted dead end was hard to find. Not horrible, but inconvenient

They had breakfast!?
The bed was annoyingly creeky and very well broken in. I couldn’t get comfortable. I wanted to take a bath but the plug wouldn’t work properly.
Other than not knowing about breakfast because I was up. The place was super quiet except people passing by in and the hall.
