The staff were exceptionally good they brought us a cot when we asked right away
They booked four of us into a room with one bed

I liked the location and the historical nature of it. There is a good brewery across the street and it’s centrally located. We stayed in the jacuzzi suite and the jacuzzi was nice.
It smelled like stale cigarettes and had some obvious wear, which is probably from it being old.

Good location
No cold water was available and facet was out of order.
It was terrible experience.

Location was fabulous. The full sized pool was great to actually swim in.
Tiny claustrophobic staircase.

When we were unloading our vehicle, we stepped away for a few seconds and someone jumped in he front seat to try and rob our personnel effects. The response from the security guard was 'oh, thats unfortunate'. Very poor security, I would and will absolutely avoid this hotel in the future. We packed up and went elsewhere near the airport. Alot safer area!

The historical piece ..... the building is beautiful..... the rooms have the charm .... staff very nice
Parking limited and tight... transients outside ..... pop machines took 6 bucks no pop given ... elevator a bit scary

the clean of the room, confort of the bed
no batteries on tv remote, no signal at exit from elevador on floor 5th to know which way to go, the loveseat on the side close to the window almost sunk to the floor when I sat down (that loveseat should be replaced )..

Repair is old. Scraped carpets, shabby bathroom. Hair in bed. They didn't tell me about breakfast. I left and only then saw on the site that there was breakfast. On the spot they wanted to charge me $100 more than the price at Booking. Therefore, I had to book through booking on the spot so that the price was lower. But this hotel is still overpriced. For a stripped number, they took a deposit of $ 75 from me from above, which they promised to return in the morning, but did not return it. They said they would come to the card, but there was nothing. We were tired from the road with the children and when we fell asleep we were awakened at 12 at night by an alarm clock. This is the first time in my life I'm writing a bad review because it's really awful. I do not recommend!!!

We had a nice view of the sleeping giant. The location of the hotel is central to many different restaurants. The rooms themselves are quite spacious.
It was very noisy, we could smell cigarette smoke of other guests. Rooms were so hot and we could not control temperature at all.

Location, friendly desk service.
beggars at the entrance, in the parking lot. The cold water faucet could not be turned off. But, in general, for 200cad, it's not bad

This is an old hotel which needs a bit of refresh but the location is excellent. I had the spa room overlooking Sleeping Giant. I live in Thunder Bay and this was a little get away for me.
The prices in the restaurant are high for the area and the food served.

Location
It was disappointing.....way overpriced ....paint peeling...rust everywhere.....alot of big holes in the window shade...the wallpaper was peeling everywhere...the elevator was smelly and totally discussing and the doors opened before it even stopped.....no breakfast and the extremely overpriced restaurant connected was not much better.....booking.com should pull this place from thier website as it has given me a slightly different outlook on Booking.com as a trust level.....EVEN THE PLUG FOR THE BATHTUB WAS GROSS....THEY COST ABOUT 3 OR 4 DOLLARS....THE PRICE WE PAID WAS WAY TO HIGH

room across from us was kicked in and not cleaned up and no explanation of what happened. there was a constant flow of guests all seemingly staying on the 5th floor with only one working elevator that was always full, the stair well was dirty, narrow and venting strong chlorine fumes from the pool area. couldn’t walk outside without being surrounded with second hand smoke.

Amazing view
Hot tub wasn't working and pool was cold.

We were pleasantly surprised with the room. Hotel is old but quaint.
we were afraid to walk outside. so many drunk people wandering around.

Best view I have ever had out my hotel windows. The lake, big ships moored for the night, lighthouse, rail lines, skateboarders, public marina and waterfront, historic train station and visitors bureau, and, the Sleeping Giant centered in my view. Wow. Room was really big. I was on the third floor, and i think the view would only have been even better from higher. I also wish I had more time to explore the hotel to see the fantastic history of the building more.
History sadly hidden under cheap renovations. I would have valued seeing that marble bathroom and oak trim. I get the new windows make the rooms more comfortable in all weather. The place is so historic it's sad not to see the old details. I'm glad the place is still open anyway, though.

Very friendly staff.
There was no coffee service in the lobby.

Old place but cool. Super slow elevator. But amazing view of Thunder Bay. Location was GREAT. Many great restaurants very close. Waterfront park right there. Very historic.
Could be updated. Slow elevator.
