Clean. Friendly. Communal.

Very cool unique decor, lots of custom rustic woodworking and tables. My 4 bed female dorm had a fan, light shelf and charging outlets plus curtains to close so the light wouldn’t disturb my roommates. Security codes for outer door and my dorm, good kitchen and refrigerator plus they stored my blue ice in their freezer for me to pick up the day I left. Friendly, helpful staff that actually sat and visited with me while I had dinner so I wouldn’t be on my own. Good suggestions for groceries and restaurants.
Nada, great place!

Very friendly staff who even gave us a lift to the Thunder Bay cruise port!😃
Wasn’t crazy about having to take off our shoes…but we understand.

I loved everything about this hostel! It’s the cleanest and nicest one I’ve ever stayed in. The staff were absolutely amazing and the room was so comfortable.

I loved the location, the vibe of the hostel and the friendlyness of the staff. Bethany was especially friendly and made my stay enjoyable. I stayed two nights in the 4 bed dorm and one night in the Private Queen. I'm 1.91m tall and the bed in the dorm was a bid short for my taste (couldn't stretch out), but the private queen room on the main floor is awesome. It has a comfortable bed and a huge bathroom.

feel very comfortable staying there and always nice to chat with other travellers
well the neighbourhood isn’t the best, but still worth it to stay there!

Bathroom was large and very clean. It seemed like a lovely hostel for solo travelers passing through.
Didn't realize that the queen room was directly attached to the common area (couches only feet from the very thin bedroom door and kitchen as well). They did provide earplugs which were an absolute necessity. Wish we had seen more of the layout before booking. Also it was very hot during the night and although a fan was provided it was way too hot to sleep.

I love the interior design and decoration of the private room very much. I also
like the comfort of the mattress, The room is spotless, especially the private bathroom. The staffs was friendly and helpful, we had a nice chat.
You can't wear outdoor shoes inside the building, make sure you bring a pair of slippers if you don't like the cold floor in the winter. The roads were under construction, so it is a little bit difficult to find this place in a car on a rainy day.

this is MORE than what a hostel should be like -welcome candy on the pillows!
in all honesty though, if this is your first hostel experience, it will set the standard. clean bathrooms, friendly and helpful staff, great common spaces -kitchen, lounge, dormitory beds built for privacy -complimentary earplugs for quiet and curtains for privacy. location is great as it is right downtown, walking distance to grocery store (if you prefer to cook) and restaurants (if you prefer to eat out). great vibe to this place.
cost vs. value vs. experience...sometime you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes 'meh'.
haven hostel is a clear winner.
wish i could have found a way to stay longer.

The staff was always Very helpful even with a late check in. Quiet secure building. Sleeping pod was roomy for a pod with a privacy drape, light, outlet and a small fan.
I will stay here again

The staff automatically assumed I was intoxicated, maybe because I'm indigenous. I will not recommend this place for non white people.
