Our accommodation was excellent. Lots of space, quiet and a private entrance. Staff was very helpful especially when a few items were missing from our room. Things were corrected as soon as possible. There was a great selection for breakfast. It was also very nice to gather in the breakfast room and meet other travelers.
All was great.
3.5
Location. Tastefully restored historic house. No shoes in the house rule.
No ceiling fan. Standing fan instead which is very noisy and hardly makes a difference.
The breakfast was not as described in the listing.
On a foggy night in the summer, you will be kept awake by the port's foghorn blaring every 14 seconds - unless one closes the window, in which case the room becomes unbearably hot (standing fan made no difference).

Excellent location both in proximity to everything we wanted and needed.with trees, parks and a lovely deck over the garden. Very comfortable, host pleasant and helpful.
Hard to think of anything

Our stay at The Elizabeth Manor Guest House was exceptional. Our host Robert was amazing and spent time with us to help us understand where to sightsee and how to get around by walking. The Guest House has fabulous gardens to enjoy as well.
Loved everything!

Breakfast was as described - help yourself continental. Sitting out on the terrace in the beautiful garden was lovely. Meeting other fellow travelers and easy walking distance into St. Johns. Laundry facilities was a big bonus

It was a super cute with lovely rooms, very comfortable beds! The hosts were super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was also fantastic. Walking distance to everything in St Johns and lots of on street parking. We would absolutely stay again.
If you have mobility issues it might be tricky if you are on one of the upper floors, but I did see signs from the hosts about helping with bags so I imagine you'd be fine. Just something to be aware of!

Location
Absolutely no privacy, no air conditioning, very small room, hosts of the guesthouse were never there.

Great service from Rob and even though I couldn't find the email that stated the code to the main door, Rob made us feel like we were not bothering him to unlock the main door 21:30 at night.
Very comfortable beds, we were put on the main floor, as my Mom is a senior which made her feel very well thought off.
I wouldn't call it a dislike, as I chose to stay near the Basillica due to a funeral, but would have liked to have a desk to complete my laptop work. As a solutions focused guy, I easily compensated!

The house is very well maintained and decorated. They have a new patio and garden on the back, which provided for a very good relief from the heat, and just a nice spot to hang out. The host, Rob, is super attentive, cheerful and ready to help with anything you need (directions, tips, etc). It's very well located, close to many restaurants and attractions. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable (the most comfortable we found in our whole trip). Breakfast was provided and was very good with a variety of options and offers. Plus, we were able to store our luggage while waiting for our flight even after checking out, and we were able to enjoy the back patio for a little longer as well.
Unfortunately, we were in St. John's during a heat wave and the house (specially our room) was really really hot. They provided fans, which helped a bit, but wasn't enough. We couldn't leave our room window completely open because the screen was broken and we didn't want bugs to come in, so that also didn't help with the heat.
Having to share a bathroom wasn't my favorite thing also, but I guess that's more of a preference than something that should be improved.

Breakfast was good, backyard was very nice, as was the patio.
One bathroom for many rooms, and on separate floor. This should have been explained during booking. If someone was having a bath/shower, it would be impossible to go to the toilet!
We arrived, stayed two nights and never once saw anyone connected with the guesthouse; only fellow guests.

Location excellent. Breakfast simple and healthy.
Backyard wonderful oasis.
No air conditioning and too
Many stairs for this old traveller

A lovely old manor house with a beautiful yard.
We were on the third floor and the weather was extremely hot. There was no air conditioning and the window in the room was old and only opened about 10 cm. A fan was provided but you couldn’t get any airflow going at all. It was about 32 degrees or more in the room. It was really unbearable and sleep eluded us both nights we were there.

Beautiful heritage home
Room was very warm and uncomfortable for sleeping. Slept with window open. The addition of a fan inside the room would be great!

There is everything to like here: proximity to everything, cheerful decor, clean, quiet, quality continental breakfast, conversation with fellow travellers and hosts. There is pride in serving up Newfoundland Hospitality. We are so glad to have stayed and would choice to stay again.

Great location, downtown St. John's. Great breakfast. Freshly boiled eggs cereal, croissants, cheese, orange juice, bagels, yogurt and of course coffee and teas.

The breakfast is an ample continental self-serve style setup for guests. They provided bagels, artisan bread, croissants, hardboiled eggs, cereals, coffee, tea, juices, fruits, and cheese. There is more than enough for everyone to eat well in morning. Our room (Trinity) was amazing - large size, two-sink bathroom with tub and separate shower, plenty of closet space and the bed was super comfortable. The location is ideal for all sorts of sight-seeing around town and it is close to various hikes in the area as well. We only drove our car for a puffin/whale watching tour and going to Cape Spear - which were over 20 min. away by car.
There is nothing that I did not like!

Charming, comfortable, clean, and a great location. Robert was helpful, providing walking directions to The Rooms and arranging for a taxi.
I wish I had been told that I was in one of only two rooms that share the third-floor bathroom. I limited my time in the bathroom so as not to restrict access to people from seven other rooms.

Stayed in the Trinity Bay Room. Super comfortable bed. Great space. Cute bathroom with soaker tub. This place is an easy walk to downtown and walking distance to Signal Hill. Ideal location.
I also had no issues finding free in street parking in front. Great place.

This was a beautiful old home . We had a very large room on the 1st floor . It was so lovely .
Breakfast was in the kitchen which was so homey. Coffee and tea were always available.
The owner was available if needed and was so friendly , funny and helpful.
Not a thing to complain about !
Well I guess parking but this is St.John's so I am not complaining.
