Did you ever see the movie Dogs of War with Christopher Walken? This motel reminds me of where he stayed.
It’s a little dated and run down but it’s clean, cheap and well located.

The location and do you from the property were absolutely phenomenal
Rooms needed updating, and the beds are not comfortable at all

The inn is a little quirky - it is in standard motel style and some rooms have recently been renovated. The room and bathroom was clean and the bed comfortable if a little wobbly. It seems like I have plenty of criticisms and concerns but it is a perfectly fine place for an overnight stay. The room did also have a microwave and fridge, as well as a coffeemaker, but no kettle.
The room was very small and the shower absolutely tiny - beware if you suffer from claustrophobia. The aircon was too noisy to leave on all night.
There is no shelf in the bathroom for your wash bag. Also there is only one bedside light as the room is too small to have a bedside table on both sides of the bed - side lights on the wall above the bed would solve the problem, as would a shelf above the bed.

The room has a deck and in the morning we could see wildlife (deer, squirrel) just sitting in front of us. The coffee made with the room coffee maker was good (stronger than regular Canadian coffee).
Building is clearly a motel. Other guests smoked cannabis in the morning.

This is a great little property with easy access to the Columbia valley. All of Radium is within walking distance and the Hot Springs pools are just a short drive or a little hike away. Like that it has “Pet friendly” written into the room descriptions so you know exactly what you’re booking if you have or do not have a pet travelling with you.

It was budget friendly and clean, and the kitchen was decently equipped.
There was no housekeeping done during the time we were there - the garbage was overflowing by the time we checked out, and no fresh towels were provided during our stay.

I loved facing the forest, but we were the only ones with no table, and our welcome mat was thrown into the bush.

You get what you pay for.
As two females, we found it a bit unsafe that the only lock on the door was the nob, and there was no other safety feature. There was also no hand soap, which I feel should be complimentary as it's a necessity.

The room was not at all like the picture on the website. Very old and needing work

Absolutely everything. Everything you’d need is within walking distance, there are trails and paths in every direction. Friendly and accommodating staff, and very affordable. The best stay in radium. 30 min walk to the hot springs and this hotel provides you with a towel as well!

Stagg was great
Beds were too hard

Good location. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Private balcony. Room heated up quickly. Fairly decent cable TV package, though my Android box wouldn't run through their TV.
No Ice machine, but they did provide a sandwich bag full from the front desk when I asked. No room service at the time of my stay, which I don't usually want anyway; but I did have to go to the office to replenish my supply of tea and coffee, which Dave was very generous in restocking.

I've stayed at many motels this past year throughout BC and within this price range. Every other one had been remodeled and updated and felt new and clean. Apple tree was old and worn out.

It’s older but that only added to the charm!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable with great beds and a well stocked kitchenette. Excellent location in Radium near restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. The price was right too!
A little noise from the highway traffic but it diminished as it got later.

lamps in room had no working on/off switch on either, had to plug them in and out for on/off to work, one plug shorted out and shocked me while plugging it in. Bathroom door would not shut room 6b.

The room was large and clean (King bed suite), and the staff were friendly and accommodating. There was plenty of hot water and it is right on the main road, making it easy to get anywhere from the motel.
The guests above us could have been more polite about the amount of noise they made in the early morning hours.
