Accessible location
Helpful Staff
Shower was not detachable, hard to use
Room was somewhat cold
Some individuals near hotel often made the area feel unsafe
Breakfast options were very bad, some thermos coffee with no milk, and some sweetened yoghurs and subpar pastry. No healthy options and no table to eat.

Not a lot
Appalling customer service at check-in, my wife and I were just gobsmacked and speechless how rude the check in person was. We are easy going New Zealanders, we were treated like we our mere presence at check in was just plain inconvenience to the staff. We did not do anything to deserve that. The worst customer experience in both our lives bar none, we just can’t understand that this establishment keeps this person at check in. As for the bedrooms: tired , old smell, not super clean. Avoid

Pleasant, accommodating staff. The room was lovely, spotless and very comfortable. I slept well and I'd certainly stay again.
Despite this area of San Francisco being semi-vacated, there were plenty of good restaurants to choose from. It's very near Chinatown. They held a "tea"with tea, coffee, wine, crackers and cookies and a continental breakfast. I flew in, took the BART, stopped at Montgomery Street Station and easily walked to the hotel.
I have absolutely no complaintsl

Free breakfast for all guests. The room was spacious and there are some tableware and even a toaster, but we didn't use it. The microwave was broken but the room cleaning staff kindly replaced it for us. (The night receptionist didn't.)
The street looks dangerous at night. Some extra cost, the OCC tax, will be added to your final cost about for 16%.

Great hotel for the price. They provide a very decent complimentary breakfast.
The only bad thing was that the toilet had a problem and kept making a flushing sound non stop, but other than that no problems, everything was great.

We love the area and the rooms are spacious.
Receptionist…he is very rude…even when paying using the card I made a mistake and made me feel like an idiot for asking simple questions..he got so frustrated just for having to re do the transaction one more time. He was rude from the moment we showed up…I called before arriving asking if I can do an early check in the person over the phone said yes and once I came in he was super rude telling must have called the wrong number. I had to ask my husband to deal with him because of how rude he was and even my husband agreed he is terrible with people.

We have stayed here about 4 times and the property is lovely we enjoy staying here.
This might be our last time we stay here the man at the front in reception is extremely rude! I couldn’t believe how rude he was to me. I don’t understand how people can get away with treating guests like this…read other reviews of people saying the same thing about this man.

A little noisy at night due to location...
Loved the Happy Hour with magnificent wine and cheeses. Super comfy beds and great pillows!!!
Short walk to Union Square
Was quoted $55 for a ride to airport...but they charged $75 on arrival

well maintained, staff are helpful
Walls are a bit thin so if you are a light sleeper your probably gonna wake up a few times a night. The location is convenient 10 minutes walk to union square and market street but it’s on the boarders of Tenderloin, a not very safe or clean area.

We were upgraded for no particular reason and the room was huge and comfortable with all amenities we didn’t expect. We very much enjoyed the bath jets after walking about 8 miles around the city!
Two staff we encountered weren’t particularly friendly. The check out person was the loveliest woman though and so helpful regarding our next adventure northward.

location, vintage charm, room size. comfortable beds
desk staff was often confused or rude or both. Security issues, we retuned from an evening out (left at 6 PM returned at 9PM) and it seemed that someone had tried to break-in to the room via the fire escape leaving the window ajar. front desk person seemed unconcerned. I was also scolded for being on my phone during check-in by a desk clerk who spent five minutes ‘tidying-up’ her desk before she started checking me in - after having greeted me. I was text the rest of my party to let them know I was delayed at the front desk. Breakfast boxes were underwhelming and too repetitive. Some wear and tear, ripped curtians, peeling wallpaper, blown fuses, missing do-not-disturb sign. whole place could use a freshening up and some TLC.

My daughter and I arrived early and the lady checking us in was very friendly and found us a room that was ready before check in time. The room was a tremendous value and the btreakfast box was great! Great location to many restaurants in walking distance.

It has a beautiful rustic interior. The furnishings are old and worn but that will add to the charm for most people.
The staff member giving out breakfast boxes, a middle aged man whose name I didn't catch, seemed very irritated to be giving out boxes and was very rude to the hotel guests including myself. It was very poor customer service from this individual.

Reasonanle price for the location. Even though the facility is a little bit old but it was clean, the staff was very friendly, they even gave us a bigger room.
The radiator is very noisy at night, keep hearing the air inside.

I not sure. I didn’t eat any. How ever I did like that I had that option!!!
I didn’t have a phone or a clock in my room. The television was to be lacking! I’m not mad at all tough! After all, who goes on a holiday to watch T.V.? “Ass Holes that like to complain’ “that’s who!’
