Didn't have the breakfast. Location was good as I walked to the baseball stadium
Incredible amount of trash on the street outside hotel

I like the quality of this hotel and I think it was a good price for what I paid.
The outside of the hotel is on the poor side of the city. The building could use a bit of renovation.

Cleanliness.
Nothing.

Dove for soap, lotion and shampoo. Refrigerator small but work very well, room 322, Mr. Pedro is the best, help us a lot, everything you need for maintenance, just call him and of course security guards carrying for the gate. Ty all.
$125 deposit every time to extended and missing some foods in breakfast, like a bacon or chocolate muffins.

I liked the property was fenced and had a security guard controlling the gate in and out. Also, was happy breakfast was included in our stay.
The area around the hotel was very dirty, unsafe and homeless encampments all around hotel. The elevator didn’t work properly and had writing carved into the walls. The windows in the rooms at the hotel did not have screens.

Nothing
You could not get on the property without stepping over homeless people. They were all up ad down the sidewalk.

We found that there was very much shampoo for two people. Also not much body soap bars for showering. We had to use the sink hand soap bar also for showering.
See paragraph above for things we thought needed to be improved. Also the room seem to have a odor which we opened window to help vent out before sleeping.

Nice quality hotel
Bad part of town - required guard and fence to protect hotel and guests

Nothing
The hotel is run down and in bad shape. The location is not in a desirable place. Homeless people everywhere.

Rooms were fair price for what they had to offer. Beds were comfortable.
Staff was horrible. During the initial check in they said they couldn’t find my reservation even though I did book it before hand. After waiting 2 hours, went back to the desk and simply told them my last name and they found the reservation. Mind you, they had my ID during the initial check in. During the 2 hour wait, others were coming and got their rooms within minutes.

We actually decided not to go in because there were homeless around everywhere. There were ragged mobile homes around and the gates to enter had chains on them.
Location and environment.
Chains on gates.

We liked how close it was to the airport and the Oakland arena as we were there for a concert. The property itself is fenced in so it feels safer. The breakfast was sufficient and we enjoyed having it. The shuttle to the airport was nice as well. Taxi drivers could get in and out of the property so we didn't have to walk around the unsafe part.
Not the properties fault, but the area was sketchy. We didn't feel safe walking outside the gated area of the hotel.

I booked three weeks in advance, and when I arrived after a long day of traveling they told me I didn’t have a reservation. I had to find another hotel at 2 in the morning.

The bed was pretty comfortable
The door to the adjoining room was super thin, I could hear everything next door. The refrigerator gurgled constantly and ran very cold (froze drinks) because it's contained inside a closed cupboard. The floors generally didn't look clean and I was concerned about pests, though didn't see any. The security guy at the gate was inattentive and the area felt really sketchy. I'm glad I was able to park my car where I could see it from our window.

He didn't have much of a problem with the exception of rats in the rooms.

The lobby check in worker was rude, flippant, disrespectful, sarcastic, and presents
with poor public skills. A 100% non-professional.
I regret booking a night at La Quinta Oakland.

He ruined our night. We left the premises approximately 2130 hours.

Breakfast was good, staff was helpful and friendly, location was great for airport access.
door lock didn't work well, pouring a bath resulted in no water in tub and water on bathroom floor.

Price - lowest in the area (homeless encampments nearby, dangerous drivers too, but an okay place just to sleep).
Bathtub stopper missing. Microwave turntable non-functional. Single luggage cart not available. "Free breakfast" area was overwhelmed - really ought have more than one waffle-maker for the several hundred guestrooms... - so many people overwhelming the brekky area that I didn't even bother or try (and take-away bakery consisted of just white bread). Oh yeah, then there was the barking dog too... (dog barking near continuously when owners absent).

I really liked this place. The 2 ladies at the front desk were wonderful. They helped me with my needs. I stayed there due to an emergency and they helped me to get a ride to the airport with one of their drivers. They even gave me some of their personal hand lotion. I really appreciate their help.

The morning breakfast was pretty good, although I believe the country potatoes were slightly undercooked. The rest of breakfast was great!
Although I did prepay for my room, I was still charged a $100 deposit fee for the room. They don’t tell you about that beforehand. I really don’t like those surprise fees!

Breakfast was fine.
I didn't like mousetraps all up and down the hallways. I guess that traps are a better alternative than actual mice. I didn't like the fact that while this is a smoke free hotel, clearly several rooms had people smoking. AND quiet hours were not enforced. Music blaring from several rooms well past midnight.

Nothing at Al they have mice everywhere

Convenient location
Strong unpleasant odor made its way into our room from the hallway due to repairs being done on our floor.
