The spaces are very well decorated, the restaurant/cafe hosts events, and it's well frequented. Staff was very helpful. The gym is on the building next door, but it is a very well equipped gym
40$ a night for outside parking is very excessive. First room I was attributed smelled quite bad and was very small, but they did change me to the room next door that was great. Complimentary breakfast is a nice touch, but it's just bagels, fruit, 2 yoghurt options, 2 (store bought) muffin options and packed boiled eggs

Location, laid back
Very outdated. The toilet paper holder was broken and just set on the toilet. The bathroom fan was broken and condensation dripped heavily from the walls and windows and from the ceiling. The ceiling above the bed had dirty fingerprints/handprints all over it. Room smelt like smoke. Carpet was stained. The bathroom door was heavy and hard to use. The showerhead was crusty and yellow.

Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is good. The outdoor firepits in the communal area are cool. The soap and lotion in the bathroom were nice.
The room was really disappointing. It wasn't clean. The pillows were rock hard, the sheets had holes in them. The worst part was probably the thermostat in the room. We had it set to cool it to 72° while we slept, and all the sudden in the middle of the night the heat kicked on and went up to 85°. We couldn't figure out what was happening so just turned it off but we were so hot we couldn't sleep at all. When we spoke with the front desk they told us its a known issue and we should just open the window.
We didn't sleep well at all here.

The game room was a lot of fun although something may have been wrong with one of the TVs while we were in there. The bed and pillows were really soft and comfortable. The social areas were really nice and the location made it easy to attend the event at Keller Auditorium.
Private parking is nice but was a little hectic to navigate the tight spots. A small detail would be some better shower heads. The sliding bathroom door wouldn't or doesn't close all the way causing a privacy issue.

The fun details of s’mores bar and bikes. Privacy button instead of door hangs. Just smart amenities. Staff nice, cool, and helpful
A little noisy and breakfast and late night snack options are limited.

Very trendy!
Tuesday early morning, we were awoken by trash pick up. Now normally this would not bother me, however this was early in the morning right before 5am!!! If you don’t want to be woken up by this, do not book a room that overlooks the hotel parking lot!!

People were very friendly
The room smelt of cigarette smoke, the a/c had issues and the breakfast bar was poorly stocked

Comfortable. Nice decor.
No breakfast. Seems strange for a nice hotel like this not to offer a decent breakfast. Unfortunately there were no local cafes offering breakfast in the nearby neighbourhood.
Also, ridiculously loud air con unit In The room

I liked so much the comfort that the room offered us . It had all the conditions. The staff were nice.
I didn’t have a thing that I didn’t like. Sometimes the Wi-Fi signal was a little bit slow and the phone did not connect.

I really liked the game room! It was super fun to go and play some pool after work. The bed in the room was very comfortable, and everything was very clean.
I thought it was a little far at times, but there's plenty of convenient public transport nearby!
4.5
Quiet hotel with views of the courtyard and hills in the distance. I liked being able to open the window. $15 credit for drinks and snacks was novel.

We were allowed to store luggage securely before check in. Very helpful. We enjoyed a yummy dinner on the beautiful patio that felt like a stylish outdoor living room. Comfortable room. Right near city hall.

The hotel has a game room and they serve amenities at the lobby. It's a fun hotel overall!

I love the location and ease of checking in and parking
Our room was not as clean as I wished and the paint in the bathroom was all peeling off

Beds were very comfortable, staff was friendly.
I like my room is pretty cool, however, I was unable to set the thermostat below 65. Also, I noticed the day we were leaving that there were pee stains around the base of the toilet.

Comfy bed, kind staff
Room had a weird smell

I liked the location and the restaurant.
I stayed 5 nights so I did need to get my room cleaned and trash taken out. You have to request housekeeping and then all they do is bring more towels. They do not make the beds or take trash out. They do not clean the bathroom either or replace used cups.

overall would probably stay again
1) looks recently renovated - quirky/modern design 2) good location near transport 3) quiet 4) some nice amenities.
1) I don’t say this lightly, but one of the staff was the rudest I’ve ever experienced in a hotel (young woman, blonde/light hair, nose ring). she interrupted and spoke over me, and, I heard her complaining about other guests to other guests! I did not feel comfortable speaking with her and it appeared neither did the other staff 2) check in is late, 4pm, and this is rigidly enforced by staff who will not check to see if your room is actually ready before this time. acknowledging check out is late, it would probably be preferable to shift checkin/checkout to more standard hours 3) the shower doesn’t work well and the door to the bathroom doesn’t close all the way 4) the ‘garden view’ room is a little misleading as it overlooks a concrete patio.

We chose Hotel Zags for the location, close to my son's apartment. Three adults stayed here in 2 rooms for 6 nights. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating area and the games room with the pool table, etc. There are lots of dining options nearby. They have an area in the lobby with snacks available at all hours, and fridges in the rooms. Beds were very comfortable. We would stay here again.
We originally wanted a hotel with a pool or hot tub, which this didn't have. But the location suited us. Breakfast was not included on site.
4.5
nice location and friendly staff
Getting to the airport for an early morning flight is problematic.
