They have a key to enter elevator feature. The 2 front desk guys were very nice and informative.
The couch was an odd shape and my family member prefers to sleep on the couch over the pull out. So she slept on it curled in a “c”. Parking is valet $$$ and it’s right in the city so you have to use it to make sure your car is parked somewhere safe. Our floor halls smelled strong of weed.

Parking on site was awesome
I had a family walk into my room on me. Then I was locked out of my room. The pull out bed had no beding and the TV remote WOULD work because of the corrosion.

As we stayed here several times in the past year, we like the hotel's access to public transport and its nearness to facilities such as the Portland Center Stage and the Portland Art Museum.
There are still lots of unsavory street characters wandering around.

The restaurant/bar was wonderful… went own there to get a bite to eat, and the waitress was wonderful.. couldn’t have asked for anyone better..!! Staff was nice, and helpful when a couple issues arose (which will be explained in the didnt like area). When items were needed, staff stepped up to make sure we had the items needed. Thankful for valet so we didn’t have to worry about the safety of our vehicle.
Check out was handed wonderfully also… Most of our stay itself was pleasant and pleasurable
We had to call the front desk and have housekeeping come vacuum our floor, as it looked like it had not been vacuumed… unfortunately finding French fries under tables as soon as we walked into the room, and toys etc behind a chair in the corner from previous people who stayed in the room :( *we had a 2yr old toddler with us*
The shower drain would not even hardly drain of water, so as you’re showering you’re basically standing in the dirty water from showering… the drain needs to be unclogged from ALL THE HAIR ETC from past customers who has stayed in the room, so it will drain properly!! It filled up almost clear to the top of the lip of the shower where ya step in… just plain gross, if ya ask me.
The price ya pay to stay along with valet, you would expect MORE from a place like THIS… I’m just saying..!!
Now… Our credit card didn’t cover all expenses (under $50), so I told Courtyard By Marriott the morning of the 5th we would have $ in the bank (less than a 48hr wait) and I would CALL THEM TO HAVE THEM RUN OUR BANK CARD TO COVER CHARGES... By 8am on the 5th as soon as I woke up when I went to call them, I pulled up our bank app and started to call Courtyard By Marriott… only to find out they couldn’t even wait for a phone call from me at 8am to tell them to have them run our bank card. This is extremely rude!! After it had been discussed that I would call and tell them to run it.. SMH!
Lots of homeless people laying all over outside, and yelling and screaming outside… kinda scary a bit, if you’re not expecting it.

The valet service was reasonably priced and had good service. The staff were all polite for the most part
I booked and reserved a king room weeks in advance. When I arrived at the hotel. I was given a queen room. The clerk at the front desk explained that they had oversold the rooms and that I could accept the queen room or I would have to find another hotel. No apology was offered, and I was still charged the king room rate.

This place is a rip off, charged us $48.00 just to park for one night. Total BS. No microwave to heat up coffee and room was next to elevator
Parking, microwave and having more than one coffee pod in the room.

The problem was that I was booking a room for Portland, Maine and somehow, booking.com allowed hotels from Portland, Oregon show up as choices. I should have looked more carefully but I assumed because I was specifically searching Portland, Maine, that those would be the only choices shown. So we had no room when we arrived in Portland, Maine. I called the hotel and cancelled the Oregon room as soon as I realized, but I figured that Booking.com would likely not give me my money back. I really did not know how to report this problem. The Marriott people were very nice. The exact named hotel in Portland,Maine said this happens a lot. We could not afford the only room they had available at $500 a night, so we had to drive outside of the city for a cheaper room.
When a person types in Portland, Maine….. there should be no way that any other hotels from a similar named city would pop up in the feed of choices. I was specifically looking at hotels by the water and hoping to enjoy Maine lobster, so I know I was looking at properties in Portland, Maine because I was checking for Lobster restaurants also.

Good location - easy to get to everything! Comfortable rooms and friendly staff who were always willing to help!
Unfortunately the window faced a wall so there wasn’t much daylight but everything else was great.

Some of the staff was rude.

The staff I interacted with were super friendly and helpful.
Downtown Portland has become post-apocalyptic in its vibe. I never felt unsafe, but lots of people are on the streets who are obviously dealing with substance misuse issues and behavioral health challenges. Not an inviting environment for visitors.

The location is perfect. There are restaurants, parks, mini marts if you need one and if needing a grocery store... That's not a far drive either. I absolutely love the corner room. They do have a restaurant in the hotel, a bit pricey with a small menu but the food was descent. Only did that one night, being the menu is really small. I added a picture from the seating area by the window and a view from the bathroom! I'm sure when it rains it looks nice too. I'm a scenery person so this room was perfect, I'm hoping to get the other side next time!
For the price you're paying for your stay(s), complimentary breakfast would be a nice offer. It's downtown so... You definitely get what's to be sadly expected. You'll see men and women sitting or laying around also; there's a little tent area not far and the smell when you're walking will definitely hit you from the urine but... I still felt safe walking around. So... There wasn't a dislike, just a heads up for anyone going to stay here.

Room service came once during 4 day stay, the sheets had blood stains and corders dust bunnies.
There was a horrible grinding sound all night despite the fact that I turned off the heating.
The reception staff was very friendly, thumbs up.
All and all very bad value.
Reception staff was very friendly

I liked the support from housekeeping for extra toiletries
There was constant rowdiness and noise from the adjacent room. The guests next to my room attempting to open the door that adjoins our room and banging on it is totally unacceptable.

The rooms were clean and the location was great.
The bed was very uncomfortable. It was very firm for my taste.

The staff was great.
Unfortunately it is obvious that in the evenings things get unpredictable because of the homeless and those who are clearly mentally disturbed or drug addicts. The staff and your customers may be in a certain degree of danger.

It would have been great to have a microwave in the room. The staff was WONDERFUL AND FRIENDLY.
It would have been nice to have a complimentary breakfast.

Quiet clean room. Staff was extra friendly. Close to event at Moda.
The homeless situation was really bad and so sad. The lack of free parking was a surprise to me as well.
