About this villa rental
350m2 house placed in a 4 hectar propriety with sunny terrace and a flowery 900m2 garden. Sittiing , living and dining room, 4 bedrooms with 3 single beds, 1 baby bed and 2 couple beds, 3 bathrooms with shower (+ one shower in exterior). Traditional contemporary architecture, large windows, lots of sunlight and an excellent view to various Sintra palaces. Luxury contemporary furniture and a fully equipped kitchen, everything with a large amount of space. Perfect for a paradise vacation!

We had a lovely stay here. Maria was there to greet us and give us the lay of the house. She was so sweet. The home is quaint and had everything we needed. And when there was a plumbing issue in the upstairs bathroom, she sent someone right away the next day to fix it. She was very responsive on Vrbo messages prior and during the trip. The grounds are stunning and landscaping impeccable. There isn’t a hot tub as the listing states. But the pool is so nice! Overall, we would definitely recommend this house for your Sintra stay. It’s a little removed from the busier parts which we loved, and it only took 6-8 minutes to get an Uber there, so not bad. Uber is readily available everywhere, and downtown old Sintra is the cutest, quaintest place for restaurants, shops, etc and it’s only 10-15 min from this house. We did have to message her and ask her to make up the one single bed my friend stayed in and they came right away the next day to do that. Maria was so friendly and accommodating. She even sent a technician to teach us how to use the fireplace because my mom gets cold and the evening and mornings were chilly in May. Lovely!

This property had spectacular views of several palaces, they looked awesome lit up at night. The house was very comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen. The pool was fantastic after a day of sightseeing. The proximity to Sintra was great. The castles and palaces we visited were all within a half hour drive. We visited several beaches that were within 15-20 minute drive. Restaurants were located close by also. The grounds were beautiful, and interesting to explore. The house was decorated lovely, I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it highly. The host was extremely easy to contact and was very responsive, overall a very enjoyable stay.

We rented the property for a 2 week summer holiday. Maria was kind and caring, and was responsive to all of our questions. The house is very traditional, so could use a few upgrades, but there was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The view is spectacular. The property is quiet and in a peaceful neighborhood. My boys loved the pool and playing around the grounds.

The location of the property is amazing, to the north of the Serra Sintra hills so you can see the Moorish Fort, Pena and Monserrate Palaces whilst sitting on the terrace. The pool is huge and great for swimming. Gardens around the house are beautifully tended. The remainder of the 2 hectares is more rural, but nice to explore (if the weather is cooler). You do need a car to stay here as it's quite rural, but close to several small towns/villages. Sintra is only 15 mins by car. The house is large and has all facilities needed. We tended to spend the main part of the day at the house and pool and then visit the historic sites from mid afternoon onwards. Cascais and the beaches are in easy range too. Would fully recommend for a relaxed holiday.

Excellent family week holiday in Sintra
We were a family of 6 adults for a week and had a wonderful time. The property was clean and spacious, and had everything we needed, the pool was a good size and cleaned during our stay. The gardens were beautiful and there were plenty of chairs and shades for sunbathing. . The views across to the National park were amazing - especially at night. Maria was a delightful host and extremely helpful. There was a generous and very welcome snack on our arrival at midnight! It was a bit fiddly to get to - you would need a car - but only half an hour from Lisbon. Thanks very much.

Un séjour parfait!
Une vue à couper le souffle sur Sintra et ses châteaux, la maison et son terrain sont très bien entretenus, avec équipement complet, la propriétaire a été également très accueillante.
La proximité de Lisbonne et des plages nous ont également beaucoup plu, attention quand même aux petites routes un peu étroites.
Nous avons passé 15 jours de bonheur en famille.

Deze villa ligt in een prachtige omgeving vlakbij allerlei mooie en leuke bezienswaardigheden. Het strand met prachtige rotspartijen en leuke strandtentjes ligt op 10 minuutjes rijden.
De communicatie verliep prettig en de foto’s op de site geven precies weer zoals de villa is. Met een prachtige tuin omgeven en heerlijk rustig in een stil wat afgelegen dorpje. Prima te bereiken met de auto die je wel nodig hebt aangezien er in de buurt van de villa niets te beleven valt. Deze villa is een zeer fijne plek om vakantie door te brengen. Wij hebben genoten.

Beautiful villa near Sintra
This a really lovely house in a fantastic location just outside Sintra with amazing views across the immaculate garden and pool to the famous and colourful hilltop Palacio de Pena. Very quiet location but easy access to Sintra, Lisbon, Estoril and the Atlantic coast. Very friendly and helpful owner and property manager.

Great location near to Sintra and beaches
We stayed at this villa in the second half of August. Wonderful sanctuary from the peak season crowds, fabulous view, beautiful garden, ample accommodation for our party of 6 and large pool. If you want a more rural location but with easy accesses to beaches and Sintra, this is a great place to stay.

Fabulous place for a family holiday!
Casa Heleno is a lovely house with beautiful gardens and a fantastic view across the valley towards the palaces at Sintra. We spent much time sitting on the terrace admiring the view and using the pool. Maria was a very attentive host who clearly cares about the house and her guests. There are two restaurants within walking distance. We would gladly come again and would highly recommend this house!

Perfect House for us
7 of us (4 adults and 3 teenagers) stayed for a week in July. The house is fabulous and exactly what we needed for a holiday. It is clearly a much loved house for Maria and, as a result, it is a fantastic place to stay. Maria was an excellent host.
The kitchen is excellent with a very good range of condiments and basic cooking items.
The bedrooms are great. There are two doubles on the lower level which are serviced by two bathrooms. There is a larger bedroom with 3 beds on the upper level with its own bathroom.
The grounds are just fantastic. The pool is large and was a perfect size for us. The lawn is luscious and the beautiful gardens are extremely well maintained.
There is a fabulous view across to the all the local landmarks (Palacio Pena, Palacio Nacional, Moorish Castle, Quinta De Regaleira, Monserrate, etc)
The bonus for us was all the fruit trees. We were encouraged to eat as many apricots as we could, because they were the trees that were in fruit at the time that we were there.
I would describe the location as semi-rural since it is on the outskirts of the village of Nafarros. We walked into the two restaurants in village. There is a small supermarket in nearby villages.
Sintra is very easy to access (a short drive) and there is a large supermarket there. There is also a large and free carpark at the Portela de Sintra station for access to Lisbon (40 mins by train). The nearby beaches at Praia Grande and Praia das Macas are sandy and clean. We found many good restaurants in the local area.

Style and comfort
The two don’t always go together but here they do! Beautiful home with a fantastic garden and a most charming hostess! Lots of space even for six. The kitchen was wonderful and very easy to work in. Main bedrooms up a short flight of stairs with a bath and a half. The property is centrally located being right between Sintra and all of the wonderful beaches. We were blessed with beautiful weather but it was cool enough that the pool was a bit chilly. We would love to return for a longer stay.

Accueil très chaleureux. Maria a été une hôte parfaite. La maison est t belle, piscine superbe (eau salée). Le jardin est magnifique et t bien entretenu. Largement assez de transats...
La vue est ... exceptionelle, sur les palais de Sintra et le parc naturel.
On mange des figues et des pommes du jardin.
Cuisine t bien équipée, avec Nespresso, quantité d'ustensiles, serviettes de bain - on a trouvé l'équipement parfait.
T tranquille (à part quelques jours de fête dans le village voisin, pas très dérangeant).

Excellent family home
We stayed at Heleno House in the middle of August with our family and had a splendid time. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. The location is excellent but in a quiet spot. Conveniently located, within short driving distance from beaches, Sintra, Cascais and Lisbon. The owner, Maria, is a wonderful and helpful host. The garden is gorgeous and well taken care of. The view from the property is second to none! Sitting outside on the porch watching Palacio da Pena and Montserrat in the distance - just spectacular! The pool is clean with enough chairs for everyone to relax. There are plenty of towels for pool use. The house does not feel like a rental but it really makes you feel at home. Thank you, Maria. We highly recommend this property.

Séjour parfait!
Nous avons loué la Villa Heleno une semaine début aôut et avons été enchanté! La Villa dispose de tout l'équipement nécessaire, la piscine et le jardin sont très agréables et la vue splendide. Qui plus est, Maria est vraiment charmante et disponible. Nous avons pu nous rendre 3 jours à Lisbonne (à 35-40 minutes de la Villa) et visiter Sintra et ses châteaux. La région regorge d'activités qui valent vraiment la peine (notamment le palais de Monseratte juste en face à 15 minutes de la Villa - magnifiques jardins!). Les plages sont également toutes proches (avec de très bons restaurants avec vue sur mer!!!!). Nous recommandons cette location sans hésiter. Merci encore Maria!

Wonderful holiday!
Best place to relax and appreciate this wonderful villa with it's pleasant swimming pool and barbecue conditions. Superb view with opportunities to stroll, visit palaces, beaches and breathe the pure country air. In 25 minutes we reached the centre of Lisbon with no problem. We will surely come back next year!!

A beautiful villa with a lovely large garden and land. The pool is a nice size with a water jet.
The villa itself is very attractive with all that is needed for a comfortable stay. The views across the valley to the hills are stunning and many of the sites to see in and around Sintra such as the Pena Palace can be seen from the villa. The garden is lovely and is ideal if you wish to have a quiet stroll around the grounds. The pool is a good size so that you can exercise doing lengths or just relax. The nearby beaches are stone free and extremely clean and are ideal for surfing, being only 10 - 15 minutes away by car. Maria met us at the villa and explained everything we needed to know and was very helpful, as well as being only a phone call away if needed, a very nice lady. All in all we had a lovely time and would like to thank Maria for her the use of her villa.

Gorgeous peaceful Villa
We stayed here for a week and couldn't recommend the villa highly enough. Very well equipped. Beautiful, idyllic gardens and beautiful views. We were genuinely sad to leave. The whole area is peaceful, close to the town of Sintra and the Atlantic Coast. Well located for shops and restaurants. Our hostess Maria was friendly and helpful and our pleasure staying at her villa was her main priority, so many thanks to her.

Spacious and stylish villa with wonderful gardens
We stayed at the villa for two weeks and had a fantastic time. The villa was spotlessly clean and very tastefully presented. The kitchen was well equipped and the pool a great size and very well maintained.
The garden is wonderful with great views and we spent many a lovely evening on the patio watching the fireflies.
We could happily spend the day at the villa, the fully enclosed grounds were large enough for our children (9 and 6) to run around but the convenient location meant many day trips were possible.
We were joined by my parents for a few days and there was more than enough space and facilities. We were all very impressed and highly recommend this villa and want to return next year!

Great villa, wonderful gardens, pool and view
We have just had a lovely week in Maria's beautiful villa. Large, cool and airy inside and tastefully furnished with a well equipped kitchen. A wonderful garden, orchard full of apple trees and a large fig tree with fresh figs for breakfast every day. The pool at 15m was a great size.
Nearby bar and local restaurants were good and Sintra and its surrounding countryside is a treat. We had fantastic views looking across from the house to the hillside and the palaces were beautifully lit up at night.
We were three couples and this is our fourth holiday away in houses similar to this one. It certainly matches the others we have stayed in and above our expectations.
My first visit to Portugal, I loved it. Delightful people, good food and wine and excellent value.

Nous avons adoré cette villa spacieuse et confortable, avec une décoration recherchée, très bien équipée, dans une grande propriété arborée. La piscine est parfaite et le jardin autour est magnifique et bien entretenu. L’accueil de Maria, la propriétaire, est chaleureux, et son souhait est que vous profitiez au mieux de sa maison. Le tout dans une belle région, avec la vue sur le parc naturel et ses châteaux, et même le coucher de soleil sur la mer, qui est à quelques kilomètres, est au rendez-vous au premier étage. Dans le top des villas que nous avons louées jusqu’à présent !

A wonderful place in which to relax
If you are looking for somewhere to relax then this villa is the place for you. With a very good sized swimming pool (approx 15m x 5m), and beautiful gardens (complete with apple, plum and fig trees), this villa offers privacy without being isolated. Located just on the edge of the small town of Nafarros, which has two really good local restaurants, the villa also has absolutely fabulous views of Sintra and the palaces. A car is necessary for food shopping in the nearest supermarket in Lourel and for generally getting around, if you can tear yourself away from the sun terrace and the pool. The owner is helpful and friendly and wants you to enjoy her home. Unfortunately the traditional wooden furniture inside the villa was not as comfortable as the outside sun loungers.
