This location is very close to Tanglewood
Carpets needed to be vacuumed. There was dirt and leftover coffe grinds in the coffee maker. "Someone" was in our unit while we were out and left the door open. The sliding door did not lock, and the host was pasing from 2-5 in the morning above ouor unit, so we did not sleep much.
3.4
It was very close to Tanglewood where we were going. It was clean and comfortable
It was more like an AirBnB. Which may be okay for others.

Comfy quiet and clean, Carol so friendly

We liked the closeness to the Naumkeag garden where we attended the Winter lights ~ also close to downtown Stockbridge. We liked that one of the tvs worked fine.. no need to stream or know how to use streaming.. just turn it on and watch :) The owner called to give us directions and was easy to communicate with. The two bedroom space is large.
Many of the furnishings are old and very worn out and the wall to wall carpet is unacceptably stained and covered with rugs. One bedroom was chilly ~ the other too hot(77 degrees) The exterior is modern and the interior is decorated with eclectic, very old furnishings and there is a perceptible musty smell downstairs. It was quite expensive for the condition of the space for one night. The window treatment "shades" are broken. I do think reviewers should be honest so other guests can decide based on reading multiple reviews if it is right for them.

way to dark in the unit

I loved the location, the mid-century vibe and I especially loved Carole, the owner !
all good

We loved the location of the property. It is ideally located within walking distance of Stockbridge. The house is in a beautiful setting surrounded by treas. Having a spacious separate suite was very special.
The decor needs an upgrade. The carpets, soft furnishings, upholstery are worn, stained and dirty. The hand basin and shower tiles are dirty. The cleaning was substandard.
3.4
The rented space was a converted basement apartment, bedroom, nice shower bath and living room, private entrance. The owner was exceptionally friendly, helpful with directions to attractions, what to stock the mini fridge with etc.
This is a personal preference and not a criticism but the decor was darker, a good surface clean but some cobwebs high in the bathroom corners. I liked the owner and the location was outstanding. I would love to stay again.

Carole was a fabulous, welcoming host - above and beyond. The property had everything we needed.
A little far from town, not conducive to walking in the evening.

nothing
it was dusty, moldy, dirty. the property should be investigated I have allergies and had a very difficult time. we even had an enormous spider in our bedroom that we had to kill. the cobwebs we enormous. I don’t think it’s ever been cleaned. we were given old worn towels and extremely old pillows. The whole experience was extremely disappointing

Stay away from this property.
I am currently trying to get Booking to help waive the steep cancellation fees.
We booked this way in advance. Then we had second toughts and looked at google reviews. Check for yourself, this is not a host you want to deal with. We asked for a cancellation, but the host denied to waive the fees. So we decided to stay there after all. When we arrived, we were met by a hostile lady who "was not expecting us". It all went downhill quickly. We said we did not feel welcome, and the lady owner started harassing us and arguing with us to the point of abuse in front of our seven year old. It was almost funny had our child not been there. She said goodby by screaming "you must have such a sad life!". Also we have not had a forthcoming answer from Booking, just a bot.

Great location, right next to two local attractions and minutes from downtown Stockbridge. The host was very friendly, and eager to please. The queen bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large and had a steam shower, though we did not try that out.
It could have been cleaner, it was a little dark, and the sound insulation between the floor above and our rooms could have been better. The second bedroom, was not really a bedroom, the bed was a day bed not a real twin, and the kitchenette was a closet with kitchen stuff in it. The rooms had been cleaned but not dusted and the rug was covered in dog hair. it had clearly been vacuumed but the owner might be better served by a newer model or a steam vacuum. We had not requested a pet friendly suite but we booked late so that might have been all that was available.

Room was cold and refrigerator was off when we arrived. Beach towels for shower? Bed was comfortable but sheets were pilly and seemed old.

Wonderful location. There was no breakfast offered.
Heat was inconsistent and at times too hot.

Nice place in a charming location. Carol the owner was very pleasant.

Loved meeting Carole Owens, owner. Very pleasant and interesting too. She greeted us upon our arrival and walked us through the property which made us comfortable. She personally called us to find out what kind of breakfast foods we liked. Her choice of tasty quiche, croissants, cereal, etc made our mornings complete. Beds were very comfortable. Great natural light!!
Seating within our room was quite worn, yet tasteful in appearance.

Breakfast was delivered to our mini-fridge. We had everything we needed to prepare it, including a toaster over and real china for serving. The fresh fruit was very plentiful and we enjoyed it very much.

The location was excellent. It was very close to town and some nice hiking trails.
The owner was fairly abrasive and did not communicate well. Communication was disjointed. We had two dogs with us and the grass was very long and the lawn had several large holes. Despite the fact that the property is 2 acres large there’s really not a lot of area to walk dogs and the street does not have sidewalks nearby. We did have to get into our car and take walks on Main Street, which is very nice and dog friendly. We also took walks on the Mary V Flynn trail nearby. Since the owner lives there there was a lot of audible foot traffic that could be heard in our bedroom and she seem to be awake in the middle of the night so this was disturbing to sleep. There was very little room to prepare food—lack of dedicated table for eating. There was a table that you could fold up and down, but I got a little tiresome to do that because having it up would block the doorway.

Great location. Easy to get to Stockbridge, Lenox and other towns in the Berkshires.
Breakfast was less than I expected.

Carol is a great host, very knowledgeable with the area and the do's and don'ts. Was there ready for any need or request we had. Loved the privacy, very quiet and large area to stay. Very nice property with great views near by. The towns Lee, Lenox, and Stockbridge were beautiful and very short trip from the Cottage.
No complaints

Great location and outdoor setting.
Musty odor, dirty carpets, loud footsteps above unit.

Plenty of room within the apartment and the grounds were beautiful. Close to town, too.

The furniture was beautiful, however out of 10 chairs plus a couch, there are non that are comfortable to sit and watch tv on a rainy day. The queen bed had twin sized sheets and comforter that were put on sideways so they didn't really cover you when sleeping, the place smelled terribly of mildew, especially the throw pillows. The pillows and chairs in the main bedroom were covered in stains. The owner was nice enough although she recommended many places that were not open so it was not helpful. I also did not appreciate that she came into the space while we were not there to install a stick on light for the mirror that we told her we did not need. The heat was very uneven, it was stifling in the bedroom with the couch and cold in the main bedroom. There are no blackout curtains so sleeping past sunrise is not an option and the main road is Very close to the bedroom will all the glass walls so you have to leave the slider curtains closed because driver's by can see right in. We had saved up for this for our 20th anniversary and it was very disappointing to splurge on a larger space that had no comfortable hanging out space or even blankets that fit the bed. It took a while for me to write this because I didn't want to write it out of anger, and it was also weird that spring (early May) is considered off season so breakfast was not offered.

The location was excellent. The hostess very nice and helpful. The room was very large, with an additional room/living room and with its own separate entrance. The place was very quiet, while very close to downtown.
We had a great view to nature.

Wonderful location, great style, tots of windows, spacious sweet, friendly host.
No real complaints, couches are old and a bit soft, but other than that wonderful place to stay, and pet friendly!!
