clean, comfortable.
Road noise was a real detractor. Loud cars all night. Could hear snoring from room next door, could have better sound proofing.

The only positive thing to say about this motel is that it’s convenient to old town Auburn.
This is the worst motel we have stayed at in the US. Id we hadn’t been so tired we would have left and asked for our money back. Why, you ask? Cockroaches everywhere in the room. Unclear whether the sheets had been changed from previous guests. Two fabric chairs in the room looked as though they had been reclaimed from the dump. Toilet seat was about to com e off the toilet. Faucet on bathroom sink was hanging on by a thread. Just overall terrible condition of property and management doesn’t seem to care. Better use as a horror movie set…

The bathroom mirror was nice.
Not clean, Shower floor was dirty as well as the walls, the light switches and the top of the microwave was sticky. The one fabric chair in the room had stains all over it. The bed had no headboard and was shoved against the wall and the sheets on the bed were so wrinkled they looked like they were in a ball in the dryer for a week. Paper thin walls you could hear your neighbors next door and lots of traffic going by outside.

The person at the desk was personable and helpful. Produced an iron and ironing board when I asked for them.
The room was awkward. One night table. Both kept hitting knees on the corner of the bed when trying to walk around it. No hairdryer or coffeemaker.

We booked Elmwood for one night through booking.com because we didn't want to drive back to Sacramento after a big wine dinner, so we really just needed a place to sleep. We paid for the room in advance. Upon checking in, the gentleman took my credit card for a deposit in case of damages, THEN said he also needed $40 in cash for a deposit. He could not explain why he needed both, but said he would give back the $40 once we came down to check out - he would go up and look at our room to make sure everything was in order and then return the cash. This incredibly unusual policy felt very sketchy and frankly invasive. The rooms are minimally furnished - only one night table, 2 stained fabric chairs, a TV on the wall, and some hangers on a bar (no closet or dresser). There was a microwave and little fridge as well. The bed and bathroom were clean, which was really all we wanted, but we were made to feel like criminals by the strange policies. We checked out in the morning and while we waited the same gentlemen looked at our unmade bed and damp shower before giving us back our $40 cash. Just a really creepy vibe and we won't be back.

Staff was rude. Rooms were ok. In a bad location
