Close proximity to lovely walks and good pub
Carbon monoxide alarm going off on first night as faulty, but owners rectified promptly the next day.

The setting was beautiful, and the accommodation was well equipped and they allow dogs.
The accommodation was tried and smelly. The beds where uncomfortable and the bedding didn’t appear to be freshly cleaned. There was only sofa space for 4 people and we where a family of 5.
We woke on the first morning to no hot water and communication was poor. I’d previously emailed the owners of the property and had no response.

Beautiful cottage, very clean, excellent facilities, perfect place to stay for a walking holiday. Would love to return in the summer 🥰
No dislikes, perfect stay.

The cottage was cozy and comfortable in a beautiful location.
More attention needs to paid to the cleaning. Read several reviews before booking and lots mentioned the level of cleaning so was not surprised. I raised an issue while I was at the cottage and expected it to be looked at but it wasn't and had clearly been a problem for a while. This is a shame as with just a little attention it could be an amazing place to stay. I had also raised a query with booking.com before my stay. This was not answered so I messaged cottage as well but I still did not receive a reply, luckily it was nothing too important but could have been an issue if it was.

The cottage was lovely and the walks on the doorstep were amazing.
The steep Hill.

Location fantastic, that's where the good things end i'm afraid.
where to start. First of all the pots, utensils and everything round the cottage was not clean almost like the cottage was abandoned. Secondly the on-suite door is impossible to get out of we had to use all 3 of us to open the door, its unsafe and very stressing as every time we wanted to use the on-suite the door was wedged shut and you had to use brute force to open the thing! Also we came back from a nice walk in the countryside just to come back to a puddle of water what looked to be coming from the boiler. Thirdly the front door does NOT shut correctly and it leaves about an inch gap when closed letting the light and noise in.. Also i would like to add that in the kitchen the floorboards left and right of the washing machine looked to be they had been broken and or kicked in. Not the nice cottage i was looking for especially for £72 a night, i have pictures of all of this and to be honest i would 100% say to stay clear of the cottage it was awful. Plus at the beginning of the holiday i think i was given the wrong pin to get the key out, we were stuck outside for around 2 hours, the landlord number did not pick up, 10 times i tried ringing either it is the wrong number or they just didn't pick up the phone. Also the oven numbers are very hard to read as most of it has been rubbed off as well as the knob to turn the temperature on just comes off so you really have no idea what temperature the oven is on.. Dreadful stay, I'm so happy to leave!

The owners have made great use of the property space. Easily hosts 5 people. Wonderful location for exploring the Dales. Nice pub within 5 minutes walk.
As mentioned a few times by other guests, the outdoor seating for this property is poor. The other cottages in the courtyard have benches, Damsel's Bower only has a wrought iron 2-seater bench which is not adequate.
The bathroom needs a shelf. There is nowhere to put your things.
Small niggles and should not put you off staying.
