About this cottage rental

Lavender Cottage is a stylish 2 bedroom open plan self catering cottage situated on the outskirts of Filey, within the award winning complex known as 'The Bay'.

The Bay is a holiday village situated within acres of well maintained grounds, meadows and lakes. It has its own on-site facilities and private access to 5 miles of sandy beach.

There is free WiFi through out the cottage.

The cottage is fully central heated with double glazing and comprises of an open plan living dining kitchen with hallway and cloakroom to the ground floor. The living area provides Smart TV, DVDs, Wii, board games and books for guests use. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, freestanding fridge freezer, cooker and microwave. French doors offer access to a south facing patio with patio furniture and a semi-enclosed garden. The first floor comprises of a double bedroom with walk in wardrobe/dressing room with hairdryer, twin bedroom and family bathroom with a shower over the bath. An ironing board and iron is also supplied.

Facilities offered to our guests include complimentary access to an indoor heated swimming pool with separate children’s pool, sauna/steam room and gym. There are numerous boules courts around the village, a children’s play area and football pitch.

Private access is permitted directly from The Bay to five miles of sandy beach which permits access for dogs all year round (certain areas are restricted at specific times).

Other on site facilities include pub, pharmacy, bistro/café and 24 hour security. Additional facilities are available at the leisure complex at an additional cost and include beauty treatments, tennis, fishing, rifle shooting, fencing, archery, table tennis, mountain bike hire and childrens activities.

Lavender cottage permits up to two well behaved pets, however there will be an additional charge due to extra cleaning costs. There is plenty of parking around the property.

Sorry but no smoking is permitted within the house.

The cottage location is an ideal base for exploring the North Yorkshire coastline and surrounding moors. With plenty of cycle trails, golf courses and scenic walks including the Cleveland Way National Trail which starts on the cliffs of Filey. Filey is a charming unspoilt seaside resort and is located approximately 3 miles away from The Bay. Scarborough, Bridlington, Flamborough Head and the RSPB nature reserve at Bempton Cliffs are all within a short drive, with the historic town of Whitby and city of York being slightly further afield.

Lovely place and everything in the cottage that we needed. It is a long way to the beach, so we parked in Filey and went to the beach there. Used the pool on a rainy morning, but had to wait 20 minutes to get in as it was full. There was unfortunately no system in place to try and improve the throughput, some families after us had a much longer wait. Cottage is perfect

We enjoyed our visit to Lavender cottage. The property was very clean and comfortable for a family of four including two young kids. There were lots of very thoughtful details and the property met our expectations. The communication from the hosts was very good - arrival instructions, updating us on the closure of the pool and very quickly resolving an issue with the boiler. The park is really nice, the beach is beautiful but the pub is really pricey and food quality wasn’t good at all. We wouldn’t go back.

We loved our stay at Lavender Cottage and would definitely return. Accommodation was as described and immaculately clean on our arrival. There’s plenty of games, books and little extras which made our stay perfect. Check in was seamless and the owners gave us a call before our arrival to give us all the information we needed. Very nice property. Clean and tidy. Good location for what we wanited to go and visit. Didn’t use all off the complex but the pub and restaurant was very nice and friendly. Nothing wasn’t to much to much of a problem to help. Walk down the beach was a bit of a journey but worth it. Overall very happy we picked what we did. If we was coming this way again I would differently look this place up. Very happy.

We had a lovely stay at Lavender Cottage, it’s clean and fully equipped with everything you need! A great base for exploring - the owner was very nice and clearly thought of everything. Only downside of the resort was the swimming pool, I think it could be better. Otherwise the facilities on site were great and the beach is beautiful. We’d come back again

A beautiful cottage to stay in, wonderful facilities they provided us with. The weather really let us down as it was awful, also the sea with it's sewage leakage made that much more difficult. The weather made it impossible to keep the dogs clean & dry as they were soaking wet, with no where for us to wash & dry them. This really made the holiday with 2 dogs next to impossible. Some of the events we wanted to go on because of the weather was a no as they did not accept the dogs. The dogs couldn't be left on their own in the cottage meaning we didn't have this as an opportunity. Unfortunately when we checked with The Bay they had put outside most of the games/sport stuff which means rain means it couldn't be used. Nothing to do with the Lavender Cottage as they were lovely, however we will not go back to The Bay at Filey.

Comfortable house in a lovely location. Well equipped with a good supply of games, books, and dvds to keep everyone amused. Chris and Jayne were very helpful in answering our queries before our trip. We enjoyed the garden area too, also the pool and the beach. Thanks for a great break.

After the booking we were contacted by Jayne just as a courtesy call which was a lovely touch. We found the property to be clean and well maintained. The house is in a great location, close to Filey bay, and is very dog friendly. The pub on the holiday park we found to be really good and the service to a good standard. Overall a great stay and highly recommended.
