I just back from our trip, this property not old, but the kitchen floor is sticky, and less privacy, from the street you could totally see everything in living rooms, dining and kitchen. the property is locate next to the freeway and it’s not quiet big problem to us. The biggest thing is we found RAT POOP on the bed at downstairs.

Rickety old cabin not suitable for families
We had a sub-par experience with this property. Between the jagged stone stairs and unsecured tall old cabinets/furniture, we were constantly worried of our kids getting injured/hurt. The comforters did not have covers on them and they felt dirty. The furniture is super old, not antique, but old. The freeway noise didn't bother us as much, but the downstairs flush runs constantly and had to be fixed often. The owner was fairly responsive and they sent the snowblower next day to clear the driveway, which we appreciated. We have stayed at many places in Truckee/Tahoe area and this was lists at the lower end of them places.

White Christmas 🎄
This cabin was perfect for us. The garage was large and fit both full size trucks. The living space was open and allowed us to conversate while cooking and hanging out in the dining and living area. Deborah was an excellent host and answered all our questions. Overall we were very satisfied and while come back again. This time maybe in the summer to enjoy some fun in the sun 🌞

Not happy
When we walked in there was a beeping sound. It came from the oven. Turned out we couldn't use it only the stove top. We did contact host.
The kitchen floors were sticky and the dining table had crumbs on it as well as greasy fingerprints. Cobwebs everywhere and the deck and the stairs to the front porch had needles and cobwebs. It was not clean. The top bed of the bunkbed spread was covered in dust and also the pillow and the filter for the a/c unit is really dirty and it did not work well.

Horrible communication
The location was a little loud from being literally on the side of a freeway, but not bad. The cabin itself was in good condition. Just a few things I think should really get checked out. There were a few times I had trouble with things around the house. Including turning off the fireplace and changing the water temperature. The water always ran freezing cold. And I was not comfortable showering my toddler in that sort of condition. I checked the house book for any answers but had no luck. I as well tried to contact the home owner and had even worse luck. They never answered. Overall the stay wasn’t bad the poor communication between myself and the owner was upsetting.

Disappointed
My overall rating is based on the communication I received from both the property owner as well as the Vrbo representative I was seeking guidance from.
I booked and paid for this place well in advance for my family, with the expectation of an exceptional stay. Although I carefully followed the instructions given, we were without hot water our entire stay. There was only one moment upon our arrival where I felt warmer water - to wash our dishes. Being in the snow, it is safe to say we were in below freezing weather and hot water is a necessity.
I tried several times to contact the property owner via phone, email, and Vrbo messages; but when she was not responding I reached out to Vrbo customer service for guidance. The customer service I received from Vrbo was also unsatisfactory. The compensation of $50 for no hot water in below freezing weather, and the suggestion for us to boil water for our basic needs while on vacation is careless.
Eventually, I did receive a response from the property owner via email, but it was far from helpful. Instead of coming to me with a solution, she was pointing the finger away from her. To quote her email exactly she said, “You may have turned it the wrong way. The instructions are dependent on the guest before you doing the right thing.” This was a slap in the face. It should not matter what I did, and especially not what any prior guests did. In that moment, I expected someone to coordinate a visit to the property to fix the situation. Especially, since the property owner already noted in the guest manual that this is a common problem.
I wanted a resolution, but did not receive it in anyway shape or form. Moving forward I do not see myself suggesting this place nor Vrbo to anyone. As a customer I did my part, but my business was not respected.

House experienced
I loved everything about this place but cleanliness could have been better. A house keeper could have been cool too we cleaned everything on our own bc covid 19 is serious . there was no wifi and no cable and we wished we had better interaction with someone that would have helped.

Great location for Truckee activities
Easy directions to follow for arrival and departure. Great location. Not much outdoor space based on no backyard but this is described accurately in description. Cabin is well stocked and very clean inside. More spacious than pictures show. Overall we were very happy with this cabin.

Location was superb! It was literally a stones throw from main shopping center which included grocery, coffee and a few basic restaurants. This made it easy for quick trips to pick up food.

Magical Moments
It snowed one evening and the view was magical due to the long windows. We felt as if we were outside in the midst of the snowfall. The property is comfortable and well equipped. We would happily stay again.

Very nice place
The house was really nice. Lots of room and very clean. Plenty of beds and nice bathrooms. Big living room and nice kitchen. I would definitely stay there again. The only negative was that we didn't have TV. There were instructions but we couldn't figure it out. We were planning on watching the A's game so instead we went to town and watched it. We were only there 2 nights. We were there for a baseball tournament. I would recommend staying there.

Just okay
House is a bit too close to the freeway so the master can be noisy. The driveway wasn't plowed and there's only one snow shovel in the house. Otherwise, the kitchen was reasonably stocked and the upstairs was pretty warm.

Lovely, well equipped cabin in a convenient location
This cabin is very clean and comfortable. It is super conveniently located very close to Safeway, Rite Aid and downtown Truckee as well as an easy drive to a lot of great ski resorts and Lake Tahoe. The only downside is that it is a little close to Hwy 80 and therefore you get a good bit of road noise in all the bedrooms. I had earplugs in and could still hear the road noise fairly well. In the winter it isn’t awful but if you were there in the summer and trying to sleep with windows open, it may be a little bothersome.
Aside from that it’s a great property at a very good price!

Roomy and spacious
House was large with plenty of amenities. We were there in July and temps were 90's but cooled down at night..could have used some floor fans to circulate air.. other than that the freeway noise wasn't bad unless you are overly sensitive. Overall nice house and nice experience.

I'm very particular where I book my stay and this place was great!
Great location, conveniently near Donner Lake, Safeway, Starbucks and restaurants. Easy access to the freeway too. The home had all the amenities we needed, so loved it! :-)

Beautiful property
This conveniently located property is a gem. Just off Tahoe-Donner road, and across the street from Safeway. Comfortably sleeps many adults in the three bedrooms, with ample space for dinner in the main quarter. Our group had a great time and will recommend to others.

We very much enjoyed our stay
This is a very nice home with plenty of space. Nice common area and plenty of beds. We stayed at Blue Heaven in early January. There seemed to be a problem with the heating, but Deb had a repairman at the house within 2 hours. That was much better than I was expecting.
The house is also close to a grocery, pharmacy, and dining. It was also quite easy to get to Squaw-Alpine and Northstar resorts.

Comfortable and convenient
You can't beat the location. Easy access to 80 and 89, and close to shopping and downtown Truckee. The house is well stocked with anything you need. Only downside is the freeway noise, I'd suggest earplugs.

Lovely home, great location!
Our group of four really enjoyed our stay at Blue Heaven. We probably should have brought more people -- there was so much room. The cabin was well-furnished and not at all tacky or dusty as has been our past experience with mountain rentals. I loved the easy access to the nice roomy garage. It made coming and going in the cold so much easier. The cabin had all the amenities we could possibly need, and it was great having a grocery store nearby. We discovered that the comforters are all down, which makes them nice and cozy, but some of our group are allergic to feathers. Next time I would bring a few of my own blankets for backup. As others have mentioned, the back of the house is practically ON Highway 80, so there is constant traffic noise. This was only an issue with the upstairs master bedroom. The two downstairs bedrooms were much quieter. Both downstairs bedrooms have bunk beds, and all bedrooms have TVs, though we only used the one in the living room. I would definitely stay here again. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and downtown Truckee is just a couple of minutes down the road.
