Batty Langley is a gorgeous property that is a wonderful step back in time. It's in a fabulous location, quiet and peaceful and yet close to town too. Breda was really lovely to deal with and very helpful. It was great to be able to bring our dog with us on holiday. The bed was very clean and comfortable.
The sofa and armchairs were quite tired, stained and smelt bad, perhaps they need to be replaced. The whole place, although wonderful, would benefit from a deep clean and a fresh lick of paint. Little touches are lacking, and at the price being charged it's a pity, because such things can really elevate a property.

I loved the lodge, a quiet retreat, no TV, no WiFi, very little mobile signal... Amazing read two books, ran twice in the grounds of the estate. Plenty of walks by the liffey. A real escape from modern life. Breda (the lodge warden) was fantastic, helpful, friendly and a mine of information.
Would have been great if there was an umbrella in the lodge. Ireland is wet!

The proximity to the parklands of Castlehouse Estate is wonderful… we went for walks and just enjoyed the scenery. We also had tea at Castlehouse and the cafe’ offers amazing cakes. Staying in a historic place is something that I will treasure and the idea that I helped in preserving these national treasures makes me happy. The house have everything we need.. from kitchen cutlery, plates, and cooking items.. to dishwasher and washer to wash our clothes. Though it does not have a dryer, we simply went to a spot with a dryer and everything went as planned. I do advice that you should have a car if you stay here to give you mobility. It is about 30 min to Dublin and 3 hrs to the Cliffs of Moher 😊 we totally enjoyed our stay and the house manager Brida came personally welcome us upon our arrival…it was overall an excellent place to stay .

Loved the location with its excellent walks in the gounds of Castletown house. Doggie friendly. Breda was a very helpful property manager with suggestions on places to visit. A comfortable and pleasant stay.
Travelling for 12 hours by car and ferry to get there - but it was worth the journey!

EVERYTHING! Amazing, unique accommodations. Great location. Castletown, Leixlip, Maynooth… all beautiful and charming. Dublin… just a half hour away. We loved this place for so many reasons and highly recommend.

secluded and has a characteristic you’ll find nowhere else in Ireland! Makes you feel like you went back 200 years back in time! Nothing like this ever experience and if you have a chance to book don’t hesitate!
No Wi-Fi but your not staying here for that.

Good location - on the edge of Castletown Park. Easy drive into Dublin and into the countryside. Lovely old Lodge.
The bathroom was very poor. Tiny, shabby, just a bath with a hand shower attachment, nowhere to put toiletries. I know that the Landmark Trust like to appoint their holiday lets in keeping with the property, which is part of their appeal, but they included a dishwasher, washing machine and fridges, so why not a reasonably modern bathroom?

It was an absolute privilege to stay in this 18th century building. So much history and character and so cozy for a winter break. Breda was a wonderful hostess. Loved it all.

I fell in love with this property online. Staying there was magical. It's beautiful and superbly furnished with sympathetic furniture and ornaments. I particularly liked the windows, the pictures, books, and the embroidered fire screen. The amazing windows look out onto parkland and the river. It was so nice to actually be in the parkland of an historic home. I did a guided tour of Castletown house which I recommend. Walks along the river and through park were beautiful.
The host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Check in and out was very easy. The log fire - I hadn't intended to use - but it certainly was lovely to light each evening.
I felt very happy and safe here and hope to return next year. There were shops, cafes etc within a reasonable walking distance, the property is at the edge of park and behind it is a lane. So very quiet and secluded in the evenings. I didn't go out in the evening- the property is somewhere you actually want to spend time in. No TV or internet. Nice bathroom - proper bath. A great experience.
It was so perfect , the only thing to improve my stay would have been a longer stay or a later check out.

The building and the setting in a parkland were just amazing. The house manager was friendly and helpful. The village was approximately 20 min walk across the parkland with shops and restaurants.

Slightly disappointed that the patio wasn't more suitable.

Very quaint with nice walks on the doorstep. Extremely quiet except for the sound of the river at night.. Great books to read in the library...Nice box of butlers chocs on arrival was a nice touch.
As it is a period property it is quite chilly in winter..

We were met in person, shown around and all questions answered. The place was spotless, the welcome on arrival so friendly and it’s pet friendly too.. we had access to a fire we could light and relax beside, everything we needed was there, we had the freedom to cook for ourselves, the selection of pots, pans, Delph etc was second to none. The little garden was perfect for us to sit and enjoy the sunshine and just out the door and we could walk the grounds of the main house (Archie too) the shower had ample hot water, plenty of towels, comfortable bed... top marks for everything
