Convenient location and pet friendly
Rooms could use a refurbishment and soundproofing. We could hear everything from the rooms next to us. The beds are not very comfortable, and breakfast choice is a bit poor

The hotel is perfectly located next to the basilica and the shrine (if thats your thing). its only a short drive, either by car or by bus to Cangas de Onis which is a lively town with plenty of good rerstaurants. The hotel is old but is totally in character with the area - anything more modern would stand out (check out the new builds behind the hotel!)
The restaurant food was good albeit limited and the staff suffered from a lack of numbers but on the main were good and friendly.
Main down side was - the basilica bells! LOL! Especially the 5:45pm ones!!!
Parking is limited

Located in the center of Covadonga, easy access to places of interest.
The room didn't have mobile or wifi reception. The fridge was barely working. The view was of a wall. The church bells starting ringing early in the morning and continued ringing every 15-30min. The hotel parking was very small and fully occupied. Definitely not a 4 star hotel.

Dinner was excellent. Very tasty and very good value
Breakfast - food in cramped area. Not protected from sun and flies. Not enough tongs. Coffee machine needed cleaning. Limited food choice.

The View was amazing, high roofs and staff were great
There was a cookie wrapper on the floor and there was only 2 small bottles of water in the minibar

Location is beautiful.
Food is not great. Parking is very limited but the receptionist was kind enough to move her own car and give us her space.

Stunning location, and staff were flexible to allow us to alter our stay when we needed to adjust our schedule.
Service in the bar was hindered by the barman seemingly having two roles to fulfil.

Excellent setting and perfect for a visit to the chapel in the rocks and the church / museum. Easy trip up to the lakes from here too. There is a cafe on the first floor serving drinks and snacks and this is a good choice for a light breakfast and cheaper than booking it with the hotel room. Beds were more comfortable than the last time we stayed - two singles interlinked and extra pillows provided. Bathroom is well equipped and everything was very clean. restaurant food is excellent - the large prawns at a dozen for 20 euros is an indulgence not to be missed! Steak excellent too. Reasonable price for drinks, bar is open between meal service times. Restaurant is late opening as usual but worth the wait! Car park is not large but there is another just up the hill so you shouldn't have too much of a problem even when busier. Don't miss the road to the lakes - it's spectacular!
Cafe can be noisy at times when you are sat in there, but people come and go quite quickly after services at the church /chapel and it calms down again. Fresh orange juice and pastries are lovely for breakfast here.

Great Location, the service at the restaurants and all the places to visit at walking distance
My room was in poor conditions. poor air conditioned, not enough parking spaces, the beads are old and uncomfortable

The rooms are big, the AC is working, the bathroom is clean and the location is majestic.

The hotel has perfect location and a very nice old arhitecture look. All of the staff members are very friendly. We didn't try the breakfast in the restaurant because of the high price, but they have a cafeteria as well where you can have toast/sandwiches for a lower price.
There was no WIFI connection in our room. There are not a lot of parking places.

Beautiful hotel in a marvelous location.
Comfortable room.

Very good looking hotel (outside and inside), staff is very polite and friendly, big and comfortable room. Location is amazing, right next to the Basilica de Santa Maria la Real and the sanctuary.
The floor on the room was "falling", or slightly bending, in one place. Not a big issue.

Beautiful site and surrounding areas
Hotel was very tired and needs a bit of attention. On site restaurant won't win a Michelin star any time soon.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and nice. The hotel looks actually better than it does on the photos on booking. As a vegetarian it's not easy to find a meal but they were very friendly and cooked a pasta for my girlfriend. Worth a stay if you love mountains and look for a nice place for a night or more!
very early (5:30-6am) in the morning garbage disposal trucks startet working right in front of our windows. Also buses, cars and people are quite loud in the morning. For those who sleep with open windows it might be better to choose a room that is not facing the street.
Another thing I really didn't like was the fact that they serve, as the only place I know in this area, the typical Cachopo made of pork instead of veal. It was not mentioned in the menu (it only said "special"). I was a little disappointed. The next day a had a "real" one in a restaurant near by... That one was good!

Such nice, old-fashioned elegant hotel. Modern comfort and located just at the main site of the sanctuary and grotto of the Virgin. Typical, all-inclusive menu available (20€ in my stay) or a la carte. Very enjoyable, relaxing place. Free parking available on site.

this hotel is in a beautiful setting
attic bedroom no pole to open the skylight or any adjustable air conditioning and no view of the outside

This place is in a phenomenal location. It wasn’t really what I expected but I’m so glad to have visited. very beautiful and calm- obviously a big religious tourist attraction!
Very poor soundproofing- my neighbours were quiet but when they used the shower I felt I was in the bathroom with them! with noisy neighbours it would be a problem but I don’t think it’s that sort of place!

Great location, dinner was very nice and very good value for money, big room, very clean, very nice bathroom and shower.
Breakfast host was very rude and unwelcoming, quality of breakfast wasn't great, bar was never open, tv in the room didn't work, beds weren't very comfortable
