Second time we have stayed here and, again, it didn’t disappoint. Just a lovely house in the middle of the old village. I’ve been regularly visiting the island for over 50 years and this is looking like our ‘go-to’ accommodation!

Fantastic location in a quiet cul de sac. Lovely spacious accommodation. Parking permit was a great added bonus and really useful to have. Plus parking was only a few steps away from the property.

Wonderful relaxing stay. Character, comfort, and condition of Stoneyhouse are all worth a return next year. We’re looking forward to it!

A fantastic house in the old village. Clean, well equipped and loads of character. A genuine couple of minutes walk to any of the village pubs and shops, and only a little further for the rest of Shanklin. The cliff tops and lift are nearby and it’s only about 15 minutes walk to the esplanade and beach. I’ve been visiting the island since I was a tot - staying in guest houses, hotels, our own caravan and statics - and this is the nicest place so far. Will definitely book again.

It was our first time on the Isle of Wight as a family of six. And the start in this great cottage was unforgettable. The cottage is just wonderful. The beds, room layout, toilets and bathrooms, space, kitchen facilities everything was perfect. Each room is so cosy and lovingly decorated, you feel right at home and welcome. Everything in the house is super clean. The location is brilliant. Whether with your own car (parking just around the corner) or with public transport. Everything is very easy to reach. Shanklin is a great place, wonderful beach, great gift shops, lovely places to eat and pubs, perfect afternoon tea, we enjoyed it so much. The communication with the landlady is perfect. We will definitely come back and tell you Nicole, thank you so much for everything. It was a very special experience and wonderful holiday for us.

Our family of 6 had a fabulous holiday on the Isle of Wight. The location of the property was perfect for us. It is close to the beach, shops, pubs and restaurants. The car park was so close to the house and the use of the parking permit for the week was a real advantage.
The house itself was well equipped and cosy and our communication with Nicole was prompt and friendly. We would definitely consider returning.

Excellent Stay
Great location in Shanklin, parking was in a carpark which was very near but could be busy. Everything you needed was in the cottage to make your stay comfortable and homely. If I was going to be picky the shower could have been more powerful but certainly didn't spoil our enjoyment. Would recommend.

Very impressed with everything, although would have expected more cutlery to be available as only enough for one meal at a time. Appreciated the ice cubes in the freezer.

Lovely stay in Shanklin!
We had a lovely stay - thank you! The cottage was spotless - I don't think I have stayed anywhere so clean! Location is perfect - central, but on a quiet road. I can thoroughly recommend this property!

Beautiful, quiet, property very conveniently located for beach and town.
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. It was very spacious for our family of four and had a very well equipped kitchen in particular. Unloading outside was no problem and the car park was a very short walk - no problem with our 4 and 6 year olds. It was very well located for a 5-10 min walk to the beach and a very short walk to the local shops and restaurants. We had a great stay there.

A great week in the sun.
We had a lovely week in this cottage in July/August. This cottage is well furnished with all the equipment you need to have a relaxing break in comfortable surroundings. There is only a 5 minute walk to the sea and supermarkets and restaurants are also only a short walk away. The roof terrace provides a great space to soak up the summer sunshine. The car park is only a couple of minutes walk away and felt very safe to leave the car. We were blessed with lovely weather and we were able to enjoy the beach and the sea at Shanklin. Recommend the coastal walk to Ventnor and beyond and also cycling the Red Squirrel Trail. A great week in fantastic accommodation.

Wonderful accomadation.
The 3 storey stone cottage was very clean and full of character. The balcony area was lovely to sit and read on. It's very well furnished and tastefully decorated. It had everything that was mentioned on the HomeAway website. It was ideal to get to the beach. The area is very picturesque. It's near the Shanklin Chime, which is so beautiful you will want to go again. There are independent toy shops, which my 9 year old loved. I recommend staying here.

Superb place
We had such a wonderful stay here this week despite the rain. The house is furnished to a very high standard and yet retains it's warm welcoming feel.
Shanklin is a lovely part of the island and the chine is worth a visit after dark.
We will definitely be staying here again.

Homely cottage.
We stayed here for 2 weeks in July/August. The house was very well situated and very close to a public car park.We had to contact the owner about a couple of things and the response was quick and resolved in no time at all.
I would have no trouble recommending this property to anyone very well situated for the high street and quiet.
A very lovely and well equipped cottage.

Lovely old property with all modern comforts. Plenty of room for a family of 5. Thoroughly satisfied.

Really lovely property in a great location
The property was just what we needed, a beautifully presented 3 story cottage with lots of character but also all mod cons, dishwasher, WiFi and a great selection of movies!
The property was really clean and a great size for the five of us, with a wonderfully large master bedroom. The bathrooms are lovely and modern too. The kitchen had everything we needed, we mostly ate in making full use of the kitchen and didn't find it lacking.
The property is right in the heart of old Shanklin on a very quiet road. There is a really nice tea rooms a stones throw away and also a seriously good fish and chip shop! We were a little worried about having to park the car in the local car park but we needn't have been, the road was fine to park on to drop/pick anything up and the local car park was only round the corner, plus the parking permit that came with it can be used all over the island, which we definatley telt took full advantage of.
Overall it was a great holiday enjoyed by the whole family.

Beautifully decorated and comfortable cottage, in a great location.
This was our second stay at Stoneydowns and it was just as lovely as the first. Nice to see a new, modern bathroom and sofa since our last visit.
It has a great location in the traditional town of Shaklin. Handy to walk to shops and the beach / seafront. Parking provided in the car park across the road which was really handy.
The beds are the most comfortable I’ve slept in, and after a day exploring the island and being out in the fresh air it was just what we all needed.
The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay, a well equipped kitchen, lovely toiletries in the bathroom and a good selection of DVD’s and games for all ages. We stayed with our two children (aged 7 and 5) and also with my dad. There was plenty for us all to do and the cottage is big enough for us all to have space to relax. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful, well equipped Cottage with attention to detail throughout.
We enjoyed a relaxing 2 week holiday at this cottage. Great location right in the heart of Shanklin, a village we love.
Nicole has obviously put a great deal of thought into carefully restoring this cottage which was a tranquil base to come back to each day.
Having a roof terrace was great to sit out on and also very useful to dry washing!
It was an easy 15 min walk downhill to the beach so no need to use the car for most of our stay however having a tourist parking permit was a great bonus which we used to explore around the island.
After visiting Shanklin for the last 8 years we finally walked down the Chine illuminated one evening. An absolute gem not to be missed. The kids enjoyed this enchanted walk watching waterfalls and taking in all of the wonderful surroundings.
Jurraaic Jim is also a favourite for the boys and their new love of fossils!
For a fabulous avocado toast breakfast I would recommend the newly opened South East beach cafe right on the end of the beach in front of the crazy golf. The Steamer also along the seafront do great evening meals with live music at weekends which we walked easily down the steps to by the cliff lift.
We would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone looking to book in the future and hope to stay again soon.

Home from Home
Beautiful cottage in a great location for a family holiday. Short stroll to the beach to it’s plenty of family friendly bars and restaurants. Cottage itself is lovely and comfortable. The superb weather was an extra bonus!

Spacious and comfortable cottage
We were pleasantly surprised by the size and furnishings of this cottage. It is well located and there was no noise or other disturbances. The kitchen was well equipped and even had sharp knives! It was convenient for the local supermarkets, restaurants and pubs and it was a short walk to the famous Shanklin Chine and the beach. Nicole had thoughtfully provided us with a week long parking permit for the nearby carpark - this also works for other carparks on the island. The upper rooms were light and bright and we were most impressed by the first floor terrace (off the rear bedroom), a perfect setting for an evening drink. It is a short trip to Ventnor where amongst other delights, there is an extremely reasonably priced fresh fish shop, the Haven Fishery. Also, we understand that Penelope Keith recommends The Crab Shed which is a cafe on the beach at Ventnor. We would recommend this cottage and we would have no reservations about returning.

Beautiful property in a beautiful village
Beautiful 3 storey house. We didn't make use of the garden terrace unfortunately due to the weather.
Very nicely kept and decorated with everything you can think of in the kitchen. Nice complimentary biscuits and bathroom items.
Great location in a village where there are endless places to have a lovely meal. We favoured Pavarottis and The Village Inn.
There weren't any instructions about recycling items so we did what we thought as we created quite a lot of it.
We would definitely return here

Beautiful property in great location
We stayed here with two children aged 6 and 9. The cottage is right in the heart of the Old Village of Shanklin and beautifully decorated & furnished. Everything is of excellent quality and there were lots of nice touches e.g. milk and biscuits provided on arrival. Restaurants, pubs and shops are all extremely close by making it an ideal holiday base. We particularly enjoyed Pavarotti's Italian restaurant opposite and The Waterfront Inn, a 10 minute stroll away on the sea front. Both were particularly child-friendly. The parking permit provided was really useful- the spacious car park is less than 1 minutes walk from the cottage and it was also possible to use the permit to park in other car parks on the island. We would recommend this property and would love to return.
