The hotel is quite remote and only to reach by boat but allows for nice walks in the mangroves. Facilities offer many options for activities and to rest.
Food is only ok and unfortunately not typical but very much adapted to European/French cuisine. There are no other options where to eat.

Everything except the check out and the fact that it was not the price given by booking! We got charged per person... All the staff were loveky.... Very peaceful place
Pricing was totally different and you have no option but to pay up or you don't get out of the mangroves! Very limited menu

The staff here are incredibly nice and warm and helpful. You get the sense they are all great friends and they really go out of their way to help. The chef is great and the food quality high. The transfer was incredibly smooth. Great music and really nice cocktails.
Most the issues relate to prices. The food tasted good but guests should be offered some options e.g. the choice between fish or meat or vegetarian. The price for lunch and dinner is also high for predominantly fish meals or hard boiled egg starters. The breakfast consists of just bread and jam and there are extra charges for eggs or yoghurt that should really be given for free. Biking was really fun but because they only have two bikes for the whole site we had to use the electric ones which cost double the price. The wifi is really bad/virtually doesn’t work. A large group woke up the whole camp at 5am when they were leaving, they slammed doors and talked for one hour as they packed their bags.

Lovely people , great location - a pool would be icing on the cake.

Just amazing! Real paradise. If you are accustomed to a little bit of luxury this place might grate however if you are looking to relax and enjoy nature at its finest then this place is just for you. Lots to do for kids, wonderful crystal clear water for swimming, the lodges are basic but clean and there is WiFi if you just cannot quite cut off! Highly recommended - the food is great and my kids had the best time catching crabs! Do the horse cart ride to the villages if you get a chance.
Nothing major...they had kayaks and paddle boards etc for water activities. Maybe a jet ski or 2? But that may spoil the serene nature of the place

Good location in a very calm environnement.

It has its own private beach.
Everyone who stayed at this hotel was white, except me, and everyone who worked at this hotel was male, black, and Senegalese, but not from the village of Mar Lodj, but from elsewhere. Nobody who worked there lived nearby. There were no families, women, or local culture near this hotel, which is, in fact, an isolated resort on its own private beach, catering for white foreigners, mostly Europeans. If this is the kind of vacation you want, this hotel does it well, but if this is not what you want, you can't escape it. I found my one day and night here to be nice but boring. I also didn't like the drumming that announced the dinner, at which we all had to eat at the same table with all the other white people, served by all black male workers there, being more isolated and immersed in the milieu of white travelers at the hotel, rather than partaking in the life of Senegal.

The location is amazing! Such a precious and (almost) untouched mangrove environment. It's breathtaking!
A certain feeling of lack of management - that's something I've noticed also in the hotel in Dakar - probably related to the lack of visitors in time of pandemic.

Amazing service, genuinely impressive food in a rustic but perfectly comfortable setting where you feel cut off from the world. They cater very well to vegetarians. The swimming area and dock are relaxing and sunsets beautiful, the free kayaks are a great plus as well. The pace is slow and relaxed, but the horseback/cart rides were a nice break from the water for a longer stay.

Absolutely amazing. The staff is so enthusiastic about every single need that you have and the food is great, the beach very clean, canoe at your disposal. Basically you have everything for a great time. Really phenomenal.

Staff in the lodge is absolutely amazing and always eager to make our lives more pleasant and easier from the first to the last minute! It is a very good place to rest and disconnect! do not miss the opportunity to arrive in the horse cart, after a short pirogue ride - it is part of the experience!
We had requested a double bed, but the lodge only had two twin beds next to each other available.... Mosquitos were abundant and that really made our experience not so nice!

Incredibly peaceful, with a beautiful small beach that was great for lounging. Solange and Dominic were excellent hosts and Moussa was there to help with anything we needed. The food was great. We hope to visit again.

The location was very nice.
Despite having a huge potential, the hosts did not care about giving any information about any activity in the region. The Saloum is known to be a beautiful natural park, but we were not able to visit any of it because the owners and the employees were not helpful at all and we could not organize any boat trip or fishing trip. We found them a bit rude to any not-French speaker. The price we paid included all meals, which half were quickly prepared and not good (spaghetti bolognese in Senegal?!). We had huge expectations from this place (given the reviews) but unfortunately the experience was very negative. To all non-French speakers, be prepared and don’t rely on their help to get around the area (when asked about some information by another guest, the owner replied “well, I am not a travel agent”).

We found the location to be especially enjoyable. We had to take a boat, then a long horse-and-cart ride, to reach the lodge. That was absolutely part of the charm. Each unit was a separate round hut-- very charming. We enjoyed eating together at a long table with the other guests. The food was consistently excellent.
The shower delivered a mere trickle of cold water. We have no problem with this, in fact -- it was charming. However, it feels like the price should be commensurate. Other similar-priced resorts in Senegal had many more creature-comforts.
