Was an exceptionally poor experience.

Very unclean, very expensive for what it was, terribile location, do not stay at this place

The table was littered with rubbish. The shower door didn’t lock, the place smelled strongly of cigarettes, I never saw the owner once as a neighbour on the phone with the owner let me into where I was staying for the night. Basically everything

初めてゲストハウスのお泊まりでしたが、思ったよりも良かったです、子供達も喜んでました。

近くにコンビニがなかったから、行く前にもう買い物してからか、食べに行ってから行ったがいいと思います。

おもしろ荘

とにかく、面白かったレトロ感たっぷりのお部屋でおばあちゃん家に行った感じ。設備は、決して良くないが安さと面白さは抜群。

Highly recommended

You will feel like you are staying at home and the neighbourhood is so clean and quiet. It’s an old house and well maintained, it won’t be sparkling clean but everything works. The two ladies that looking after the place was so lovely. Sue even cooked some delicious food for us. Thank you Sue… Good place to stay if you looking for a cheap accommodation.

I regret booking this accomodation. It is so far from the train station, it takes 26 minutes walk from the accomodation to get to the train station and vice versa. There is no taxi available around the area. I also do not like how the owner talked with me on the phone call when I was asking for help in getting a taxi because all of my family have heavy baggages. The house too is not tidy especially the bathroom.

料理も風呂も自由に使える割安なゲストハウス

部屋は広く掃除が行き届いていた。シャワーの温度も快適で水量もあってきもちよかった。台所も清潔で料理道具もひととおり揃っていた。宿泊者への注意書も貼られていて、他の宿泊者もルールを守っていた。スタッフも24時間電話対応してくれ助かった。

扉が薄いのでセキュリティに若干の不安があった。共同部屋にはあるけど、部屋にも机があると便利。フライパンの蓋がないので蒸し料理ができなかった。

You get what you pay for

A cheap, remote private room in Matsudo. It is calm (we were the only residents during our stay), comfy and there's a lot of room. We never saw the owner but a really kind lady was there for our check-out.

The bathroom could be a bit renovated. The first night was a bit scary because no one was there to greet us, as someone else said it felt like trespassing, and we were unsure whether or not we were alone in the house.

Host never made contact. Didn't enjoy having no idea about how to check in or hear from the host. We ended up having to sneak into this property in the middle of nowhere with no bus or train station near, walking up the stairs in the dark with no one to greet us and we felt like we were trespassing as we were given zero information.

Disappointing

My interlocutor Tom-san was friendly and helpful. The place is quiet. There is a supermarket and some kombini at 8mn walking.

Far from the train station; no reception on arrival, no lock on the bathroom door... The whole apartment needs a refurbishment.

On first day when we come here Owner of this house took extra money cash 6000 yen per one person, he said that extra money will be charged for using shower and toilet, also there washing machine is for money and so much insects in this house, and cold

Uncomfortable

Away from the city

AC would turn off at night at -2 Celsius because of voltage overload, too many guests at once, which made it a VERY bad night, facilities are broken, the owner is VERY lovely and I would like to meet him again, but the house I kinda falling apart, one of the bathrooms is out of commission, and what once seemed to be a lovely garden is filled with ruined furniture and garbage, for some reason guests staying there are VERY dirty, they leave the bathroom dirty, shower dirty, they are loud (stayed 3 nights and 3 different guests were like that), a VERY simple lock is provided as security measure for a wooden door locked behind 2 uneven screws, which only takes a little bit of "foreigner" and determination to open without leaving a trace, which made me feel uneasy while I was away with my very valuable belongings in the room, it's a 20 min walk to the nearest station, which after a long day feels like hours, overall I DO NOT recommend the place, you're probably better off anywhere else.

Breakfast was cooked on our own though the owner's Tom and Kimiko offered to prepare for us.
