You can’t beat the location of this house! It’s in walking distance of restaurants and markets. Bathrooms were clean and fully stocked with towels and rooms had plenty of linens.

It was filthy dog hair everywhere too. Pillow cases too small to cover pillows. Poor service from Vacasa too. Don't stay here.

We loved the spacious rooms and the front view.

The cabin has so much potential. It has great space, 2 king beds, and large bathrooms. The location is ideal during the winter or summer. The cabin had many issues, though. The stove only had 2 working burners (and one of them was tweaked and hard to get a pot to sit on). That made cooking much more difficult. The TV and WiFi were a huge issue for us. The TV has a DVD player, but no DVDs. We tried using a firestick to stream, but the wifi was so slow and kept dropping for our entire stay. We contacted Vacasa, who said the local office would be in contact. We could never get ahold of anyone. We were unable to watch anything during our stay. The heating in the cabin wasn't ideal. It pumps tons of heat into the lower rooms, but the loft is very cold. Some of that is to be expected in a cabin, but it was pretty extreme. The living room furniture has seen better days. The blinds were missing many slats. Lastly, the cleaning was pretty terrible. Our feet were black from walking around. We found an acrylic nail in the middle of the kitchen floor and food pieces on the stove 🤮. This place has so much potential, but it definitely needs some work.

Perfect location. Plenty of parking and outdoor space. Nice bathrooms and plenty of towels. Big dining room table for 8. WIFI worked great. No dvd’s or board games. Kitchen was spacious. Mice droppings in every bottom cabinet. Plenty of dishes, pits and pans and silverware. No pot holders. No scissors. No dishwasher and not supplied a sponge. Beds were comfy, glad I brought my own pillows and blankets. The pillows there were not fresh and clean smelling. Comforters need refreshing or replacing. Enjoyed the firewood stove, bring your own wood. Heater works great, but the heat doesn’t travel upstairs. It got very cold, again glad I brought blankets. The living room furniture is grubby to say the least. It really should be updated. One of the swivel rocking chairs is so worn down you feel like you’ll fall backwards. I used a couple blankets I found in the bedroom closet, and draped it over the furniture. It made it more comfortable to sit on. Please replace the front welcome mat. It’s torn to shreds. Would I stay there again? Yes. It was not a horrible experience. It’s a basic cabin. I want to feel like I’m at a cabin and not a modern home. We were comfortable enough and enjoyed our stay. These are suggestions and an honest review for those interested in staying here. Thank you for having us!

This cabin is very old and run down. The living room furniture is worn and dirty, I would not want to sit on it, TV did not work for half the stay and after several calls was finally replaced but since there is no cable there were no stations to watch. Bobby the property manager was helpful and very responsive and did what he could but the week he was on vacation nothing was addressed. This house needs major repairs and improvements.

Our family enjoyed our stay here! It’s close to town, great outdoor space and wonderful for the fur babies as well. The communication with Vacasa was excellent! We would stay here again😊

Arrived to the house on Thursday evening. 42 degrees inside, propane tank was empty so no heat or hot water all weekend. Had to buy a lot of firewood to make it bareable. Vacasa told us we would get an emergency fill so we could have heat and hot water…… now Sunday morning checking out, still no heat or hot water. Terrible company, wont ever rent from them again

Nice, quiet neighborhood. We weren’t expecting luxury so no disappointment at finding a house that needs some TLC. It was mostly clean. The floors and kitchen counters could have used some extra attention from cleaners. Toenail clippings on the floor of one bedroom were a definite sign. Sticky kitchen counter. Microwave didn’t work. Remote for DVD player didn’t work. Electric stove top with burners that don’t work. Didn’t try the oven. Gas grill on the deck worked. Window blinds in dining area missing blades but would open. The house had been closed up and was very cold. No blankets except for light comforter on my bed. Fortunately I brought a blanket and the heater works. I didn’t go upstairs but the downstairs bathroom is large, very nice and clean. Plenty of fluffy towels. Comfortable beds. Large deck around the house. I’m not sure I would rent through VACASA again. Not being able to talk to someone about early check in was frustrating. We only wanted to come an hour earlier than 4:00 but couldn’t make that simple request to whoever oversees that property. A message was supposedly sent to someone about early check in 5 days before reservation date. According to the calendar for that property it wasn’t rented the week before my reservation. I received a text sometime after noon the day of check in that we could come early but that didn’t really help with advanced planning and logistics of travel. Check out was easy.

We enjoyed our stay at Redwood Haven. It was spacious, welcoming, beds were super comfortable. Home was clean. Cozy and family friendly atmosphere. We hope to come back soon.

The house is dated and microwave was not working properly. My suggestion would be update major kitchen appliances and maybe let future reservations know there is no cable. TV and DVD are there but no one has dvds anymore. Maybe invest in a Roku.
House is very spacious. Lots of room to accommodate families. Restrooms were nice. There are plenty of towels and kitchenware. Neighbors were nice. We were comfortable.

This little place is close to the shops and dining in Shaver lake. Bring some fire wood if you can for those chilly days. We did wash the dishes prior to using because we didn't know how well the previous renters cleaned them.

Was very disappointed on the place. Place needs better furniture and needs better access to A television. No one uses DVD. Could use some TLC. . Place gets very hot no great fans to ventilate the place. Horrible accommodations.

Beautiful neighborhood. Nice to just take a walk and admire the properties. Nice and quiet. The house had plenty of space, but could use some sprucing up and gets a hot in the summer afternoons. You'll need to bring everything. We bought coffee filters, (brought coffee and sugar) saran wrap and aluminum foil and left it for the next guest. The BBQ was pretty nice.

It was perfect for us!
Our family of 5 and two sets of grandparents just enjoyed 5 days at this perfect cabin in the snow. There was plenty of space for everyone and we enjoyed big meals at the dining room table, looking at the backyard full of snow. Our dog came, too and had a great time. The stairs upstairs are very steep so there was some anxiety with our 5 year old and our dog couldn’t get up them and there wasn’t enough paper towels/toilet paper/garbage bags provided but the store was a nice 5 min walk away.

Holiday Get away
Things i liked: Location was great. Close to town and nearby shops. Place was clean and had more than enough cooking utensils for our stay. Met our needs for the holiday stay. Things I was disappointed in : TV is too small & should be a smart TV. It advertised a blue ray DVD, however had no DVDs there to watch - had to bring ur own. No board games, cards, etc.. Couldn''t watch regular TV. Should have at least an Antenna. No filters for coffee maker, small container of dish soap for us although we advised we were staying for 5 days- Thanksgiving. No dishwasher- so should have extra soap being we have to do more dishes for the holiday.,Microwave handle broken. 4/5 blinds missing on lower part. People could see in at night. We fixed that for next guess by replacing/ rearranging missing blinds in middle. No porch light to see outside front entrance- good thing we had a flashlight. All and all.. ok place.

Great Location!
The cabin was spacious and very close to Shaver Lake stores/restaurants. The bathrooms are updated but the rest of the cabin could use some updating. Great large wrap around deck in a quiet area.

Nice place at a reasonable price
Redwood Haven met all our requirements - clean, large enough to accommodate 3 couples, pet friendly, reasonable price and fairly well stocked. Here are a few suggestions for guests - if you plan to microwave, there are dishes that work, but not any microwave cookware (with lids), though there are lots of regular pots and pans. While there is a TV with DVD (Blu-Ray?), there is no cable or dish, so if you want to watch anything, either bring something to connect your laptop or bring some videos. For the host, since the place is dog friendly, I would suggest supplying a long-handled shovel to aid in picking up dog poop outside. There was a fair amount of dog droppings left by previous guests (which I picked up), but I think providing a shovel and suggesting guests clean-up before leaving would help. Also, while all the floors downstairs have been replaced, along with the upstairs bathroom, the loft and upstairs bedroom are carpeted. My dog was very interested in all the smells and spots in the carpet and before she could add to the spots, we decided that we could not stay upstairs with her, so we had to pick a downstairs room. It would be nice if eventually the upstairs carpeting was replaced with flooring, which would make it possible to keep the place cleaner. Outside of that, we had an awesome time and would consider staying there again, if we are ever in the area.

Nice cabin!
Had a great time!!Overall cabin was pretty clean except floors probably needs a good mopping. One burner not working on stove top. Living room furniture/beds could be updated .Beds caved in the middle so we didnt sleep well. Even with the bed issues I'd stay here again.

Nice little cabin
Was a nice little cabin that fit our family. Was close to town so made it back and forth really easy. There was some prior dog hair left on the sheets of one of the beds but did a quick wash in the washer and dryer and all good.

Nice cabin!!!!
The cabin is really clean, and it’s really big. It comes with all your necessities so you don’t have to bring anything besides food! The one thing I didn’t like is the tv is really small, and it would be better if it was a smart TV! The wood of the deck need to be re- screwed, but other than that it’s a nice cabin!

Redwood Cabin Review
Nice property. Close to town. Great for kids

Nice location but needs some upgrades and a deeper clean!
The cabin was in very nice location. It was walking distance to shops, restaurants and trials. The neighborhood was quiet and did not have a lot of traffic.
The cabin was small but had plenty of space and beds for the 8 of us that stayed. The bathrooms were updated and clean with plenty of towels.
The reason I gave this cabin 3 stars was because the beds were bad. All the beds were uncomfortable and seem very old. Two of the king beds caved in the middle. None of the adults slept well.
I was also very disappointed with how dirty the floor was. Our socks/feet were so black and covered in dirt from walking around the house.
There was also white dog hair all over the furniture, we noticed it as soon as we got there. (We did bring our dogs but they are both labradoodles and do not shed.)
Because everyone has to pay cleaning fees, you would think especially with Covid you would come to a pretty clean house!
We made the best of the negatives and still had a great time! We appreciate you letting us stay in your home. However, we will probably not stay here again.

Get what you pay for
The cabin was reasonably priced. It looks like the actual owner rarely stays—total mish mash of pots and pans. Who needs 5 large frying pans? More than a dozen very large glasses, three plastic small glasses. One burner doesn’t work as another reviewer stated. Upstairs bedroom is freezing in the winter—needs a space heater as many other reviews stated. Vacasa, the property mgt co., is the worst, most unresponsive I’ve ever dealt with, will NEVER use them again.

Great Trip in the Sierras
My husband and I stayed at this cabin for 4 nights. It is in a nice location (and quiet part of the neighborhood) especially if you want to spend most of your time at the lake or walk to the local pizza place and a couple of small bars. We prefer to hike so we did end up driving 30-40 minutes to most of the trails we wanted to explore (highly recommend Twin Lakes and George Lake!). This is obviously not the cabin's fault - just a heads up to hikers.
The cabin could have been cleaner, but I do admit we have high standards. The floors need a good mopping, the rafters need dusted, and (some) trash needs to be cleared from the yard and under the deck. But the sheets and towels were clean and there wasn't a lot of dusty clutter like some cabins we've stayed in. We weren't sure what to do with our trash and recycling (could not find this in the check-out instructions), so we took it to the dumpsters at the end of the street.
The cabin could easily and comfortably sleep 9 people. There are two bathrooms, a large kitchen table, and two tables with chairs on the deck, so it would be a great cabin for a larger party, especially for the reasonable price. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook and the washer/dryer were great for our dirty hiking clothes.
We had a great trip in the Sierras! We'll hopefully be back soon and we'll certainly look into a Vacasa rental.

Great location
The location of this property was our main reason for booking it. It’s maybe 1/4-1/2 mile from the lake and very close to all the local shops, restaurants, gas station, ect.. It’s in the East Village neighborhood.
The house met our needs and is dog friendly just generally outdated though. There were 3 families and a dog. 6 adults, a 12yr old, 3yr old and two babies. We stayed for 5nights/6days. The beds were all very hard and the linen and general decor seemed very old but didn’t have high expectations going in. The bathrooms (only thing) look like they have been recently remodeled so that was nice.
Some amenities could be updated which would add a lot more value and desire to the property such as all the kitchen appliances and utensils. Everything worked (except one burner on the stove and the freezer not being cold enough) but are very outdated. There were plenty of plates, bowls and cups but the silverware was all mismatched and sparse compared to how many dishes there were. I’d recommend bringing plastic utensils and paper plates to avoid a bunch of dishes. Also, bring your own dish soap, paper towels, aluminum foil, and ziplock bags, ect.
The house has wood floors, there was a broom but no dust pan so that seemed odd. Washer and dryer was a huge plus. The washer seemed ancient but worked but the dryer was a bit newer. I probably sound harsh but once you see all this for yourself you’ll understand what I mean.
There is a propane grill provided but when we arrived the tank was empty and the grill was very dirty, just a heads up. I don’t think they cleaners or anyone cleans the grill besides the guests using it and that seems like most of them don’t. It took a few different back and forth phone calls before we finally got a new tank but eventually it was replaced free of charge to us.
Despite being given some misinformation a couple times everyone I talked to on the phone was very nice, polite and helpful.
Overall, this house met our needs and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an ideal location to stay. Just don’t expect anything newer but I guess that gives you more of the camping feel.
