The hotel lobby is lovely, our room although small, it was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. I has a quick chat with the girl at the spa and she was wonderful
The reception staff could do with some actual hospitality training. Cold and impersonal, left us feeling like they didn't want us to be there. Very uncomfortable..We were told that breakfast was extremely busy from 9am so the only slot was 8:30am or we can eat in the room. We had to wake up early and be there at 8:30am but up until 9:30am the restaurant was still empty. At check out we were not even asked about out stay. Shower was cold in the morning and the breakfast, although abundant, was lacking quality and vegetarian options. The orange juice was undrinkable and the music too loud at breakfast.

From the moment we entered the hotel the staff were so lovely to us. Iddy was lovely and help us with anything we needed. Breakfast staff was amazing couldn’t do enough for us and restaurant staff went out of their way for us

Staff courteous and helpful.
Room spacious and bed very comfortable
Spa relaxing and some reasonable offers on there, one of which we availed of.
Fine food in the restaurant.
No noise from traffic as the hotel is in off the roadway.
Parking available right up to the front door.
On night one, people in the next room returned (probably inebriated) after 2am and made awful noise for an hour. Had to ring reception but that didn't achieve anything. They were gone the next day, but we were both very fatigued as a result.
Our room was too warm and we had to leave the window open for the duration of the stay.
Our bath/shower retained water as we washed.
Price of the room was at the upper end of the fees we normally pay, yet we have had many other nights/weekends away in hotels around Ireland that offered the same for a bit less.
At the end of the day, a good hotel, but having spent in excess of €600 in total to cover our 2 night stay, spa treatment, evening meal and drinks, it was most disappointing to have only got one good night's sleep into the bargain.

The friendly staff
The small space, the dirty shower and the sliding door to the balcony that didn’t lock, which was located next to a path so anyone could hop the gate or walk by.

The staff was very accomodating.

The staff was unbelievably helpful. Front counter especially was gracious and welcoming. The food was great, the in-house bar and restaurant was well worth the visit. All in all would return and recommend
The roof of our room was covered in dust and cobwebs. The food servers definitely didn’t seem they enjoyed their job (or maybe it was just us being from the states). It wasn’t an end all be all, but the servers were noticeably different attitudes from the absolutely wonderful front desk lady.

Retaurant & Spa good
Luxury Family room with electric socket hanging off the wall, bathroom door handle came off, private patio door on ground floor unable to lock. No safe. Overheated with minimal ventilation. Disabled lift accessibility poor and embarrasing exit/entrance in the dining room. Restaurant food was good but let down by dirty floors that hadn't been swept for a couple of days.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is recommended for dinner too.
After a shower the bathroom floor was really wet due to the shower glass. It didn't keep the water in correctly. I forgot to mention this at the reception because it didn't bother me. it's an easy fix.

Visiting with Bridgett the dining room manager.
The facility was old and in need of updating and much repair. The lobby was extra dirty and in great need of a vacuum and broom. The breakfast was adequate, special recognition to the manager of the dining, Brigette. She was cleaning and making the dining room nice. She was very friendly.
I could not recommend the hotel to my friend

Location,
Shabby decor, outdated systems, no-one on reception at night. Left standing at reception and had to ask Porter for assistance. Led to a lift on far side of bar with bags and clothes over our arms to a lift that took us to a function room. Had to walk around the building to find our room. Nice view and tidy but smell in the room, mouldy tiles in bathroom, needs deep clean. Our other 2 rooms similar but also had a broken lamp, broken mirror, broken window lock, badly repaired hole on the wall. Decor old and dated. drinking water provided on first night. One tiny body wash, shampoo and lotion between 2. My heavily pregnant daughter in law arrived back to their room after our wedding to find no housekeeping done, no fresh towels, bed unmade. Shoddy all the way. This hotel is a 1* priced at 5*. I was informed it is a 4*. Couldn’t be less deserving of that rating. I’m mortified that the tourists visiting our beautiful country are being offered such a low standard. Disgraceful!

The food is amazing there. That was the Saving grace of my 2 nights.
This is my first time writing up a negative review, but it was my only recourse as my problem was not fixed within the hotel.
We had a big issue with our shower. It wouldn't drain when we used it. So when you washed, your feet were getting covered in dirty water from the drain. I rang the receptionist the 1st morning she wasn't helpful, said they will send someone up, we waited 20 minutes no-one came, then when I called again, I was then told she would call maintenance. So one could infer that nothing was done with my 1st complaint. I asked, while I wait for maintenance, can she send someone up with a plunger at least to see if that could improve the situation. 15 mins later, a staff member came and handed me a plunger. I am unsure of their procedure, but if the roles were reversed, I would not expect a guest to fix a blocked drain.
I tried my best to fix it, but I was not able. I gave up and my partner and I used my family's shower in a different room. I walked to reception after this and asked if this would be fixed as we'll need to shower. I was assured in a very condescending mannor that maintenance was coming and that it was a "simple fix, it with their pump that was the issue" and will be fixed by 11am.
Once we returned in the evening, it was the same issue. So once again I rang reception, I was told that someone would be up to look at it again. The manager came up, who is a nice man to fix it. But alas, we had no joy, so my partner and I were both rushing to go to a family dinner, so we had to wash ourselves in it.
On a side note. Not once was I offered anything in a way of a solution. Just false promises of it being fixed. I asked if we could swap rooms. I was denied as we used the room, and they couldn't get house cleaning up to clean it if they had another guest coming. To which I replied that this room shouldn't be given it to anyone, the shower is a disgrace.
