Staff were lovely. Cooked the mahimahi my husband caught for our dinner and it was delicious. Snorkels goggles and flippers and beach shoes available
Couldn't get anything to eat or drink in the restaurant between 10 and 5.

This resort was perfect for us. It had beach access, nice outdoor reading areas and dining available. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.
The beds were comfortable and the room we had was well equipped and spacious
The location was ideal for us as we were wanting a relaxing holiday. The Muri night market was in walking distance, as were lots of other eateries. The island bus stopped right outside, meaning we could get around without having our own set of wheels.
It would have been good if the restaurant was open for lunch and paying for wifi in a resort was a bit bizarre
3.5 / 5.0
The restaurant was overall pretty good - however it does not serve the guests well due to operating completely separately from the hotel/resort. The hours were restricted (not open for lunch at all), you couldn't go and get a beverage/coffee other than breakfast and dinner. Front desk told us to "pre-order" our tray of breakfast to be delivered to our room early morning, ahead of our shuttle pick up for the day trip. We did this with the restaurant. We gave 24 hours notice. At dinner, I checked - they had no record at all of our order for the following morning - and they just made up a really basic tray and gave it to us then, so we had to keep it overnight in our room. Should have bought cereal/toast ourselves. The restaurant staff were generally friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed their company overall. The food was often limited to only one fresh fruit at breakfast time (pawpaw), nothing else. The coffees we ordered which were made by the barista were excellent. But we had to pay $5 each coffee for these, they were not included in our free breakfast. Only filter coffee included, which was often not fresh and had run out, hence us ordering barista made coffees. No alternative tea available at all - only ordinary black teabags (no green tea or herbal tea). It was just very, very basic. The position of the restaurant was okay, looking towards the sea and the pool - however it was not overlooking or close to the beach at all - unlike other resorts we have stayed in at Rarotonga. So it lacked a bit of a "resort" feeling in the restaurant. Beds were clean and very comfy. Aircon excellent. Purchase Wifi, not free. Pleasant but just not at all the level of customer service we would expect for this rated resort and what we paid. The room (lagoon view, ground floor) was very comfortable and spacious, the bathroom was lovely and modern and clean. Good kitchen amenities.
No towel rails in our bathroom at all - nowhere to hang them, or let them dry other than over lounge chairs. Maids came very, very late a cxouple of times (4pm), despite me phoning to ask - no fresh towels until then. Poor maid service, beds were made up okay other than Sundays, they don't come. It was clean, and had a very nice outlook to the water. However there are NO STAFF ON SITE OVERNIGHT at all. This made us very uncomfortable. No security or manager. A group of six adult guests were there for much of our stay, they partied together all night long (i.e. 2am or later), skinny dipping in full view of all hotel rooms/guests. They played loud music and yelled/foul language from around 8pm onwards, every single night, despite many, many complaints from me and other guests. Interrupted our sleep and peace every night they were there. Nothing at all done about it. The day staff could not have cared less, we never heard back from anyone. That actually had a big impact on our stay, and we would probably not return to this resort based on this. Noisy, rude, inconsiderate and disrespectful people, with no managers at all to address the issues or respond to complaints. There were very limited lounge chairs available to lie in the sun overlooking the beach -I think four, possibly six, for the whole resort. The office staff were barely friendly, certainly not welcoming or customer-focused. Mostly, they were not even smiling when we approached the desk. With no manager around, it is hardly surprising. This was for the entire week we were there. No outdoor bar facility at all, even around the pool. So you couldn't go and order a drink, you had to make your own or wait until dinner hours. No activities offered at all, it lacked a "vibe" or atmosphere.Oe main issues is the disconnect between the resort and the restaurant.

Beach not in front of the hotel like most on the area but rocks

The room was huge, well-furnished and comfortable. The staff at Reception, those working around the property and those managing the onsite restaurant, Laguna Bar & Restaurant were all professional, courteous and so helpful. The food in the restaurant was phenomenal. The location was wonderful too, as the clockwise and anticlockwise buses stop right outside the property.
Honestly, only weather, and no one can control this.

The location is great, the views from the room were amazing. Lovely staff, really helpful when they were available. The hotel and rooms were very clean.
The continental breakfast they include is too limited and not of great quality, it may be better to order from the paid menu or go to a nearby bakery.
The staff at reception are not always there, making it a bit difficult to ask/organise things.

Location was excellent.
It was decent. However it needs some variety since it is "boring" and uninviting when the same, same things are served everyday. So much so my partner came to the restaurant only twice in the time we stayed there. Change the flavour/type of muffins, change the type of bread, change the type of fruit (seasonal), some other options to make it interesting and to look forward to :-)

beach views
the continental breakfast only had paw paw as a fruit choice most mornings. when I asked if there were other options the lady said that was all that was available. other hotels had multiple fruit and coconut options. I am gluten and dairy free so only could have paw paw.

Paradise
Can’t think of anything

Everything, we just couldn't fault it.
Probably could do with a few more kayaks or maybe invest in paddle boards as well as if it was full there maybe a lack.

The rooms:
Nice big room and bathroom. Decor was nice too. Great pressure on the shower.
House-keeping:
Though we had to ask for them to restock drinks items the first time, after this they were very thorough, always leaving us extra beach towels and being very friendly towards us.
Adults-only:
What exactly did we pay such a high rate for?
The restaurant opens around 5pm, maybe later, and if they have no customers, closes again pretty quickly.
No access to refreshments, snacks or meals during the day.
No staff on hand to help with lifting the kayaks down/back from the beach.
There was absolutely no indication as to why we bothered selecting an adults only resort.
Also, as I travelled there to celebrate my 40th birthday, and it is one of the most expensive options, you would have thought that even a tiny something would have been by the staff to acknowledge this.
Breakfast:
This was highly disappointing. Do not claim to have 'breakfast included' with what you are offering.
For our first day, no-one mentioned to us that there were extra options (additional payment of course) available and so I went hungry. I do not eat dairy nor white bread. This left me with a few slices of fruit and the weakest coffee I've ever drunk.
For the remaining days that we chose to have breakfast in the resort, items from the menu were always missing. So, a seemingly good range, but in fact pretty useless.
Restaurant:
Absolutely dreadful experience on our last night in the resort. We ate there on our first night and thought the food quality was excellent. Therefore we selected to spend our last night there, with a guest.
So many things were bad from this experience that the word count won't allow it. My own meal was never ordered, so I had to wait over an hour to eat after my companions had eaten; My mother's meal had items that were still frozen in the middle; My friend's meal was over-cooked and burnt; By the time my own meal arrived, it was also frozen in the middle. At first, I complained quietly about this issues, but when my food appeared in so inadequately also, I was far more vocal. The manager offered to reimburse us for all, then changed her mind and still charged for drinks/starters.

Location was great and the cleanliness of the room was amazing. Housekeeping were really helpful. Restaurant also had amazing food
Not having the restaurant open for lunch especially around public holidays when other things are closed the price you pay for a room per night you should have access to the restaurant to get lunch.

Clean tidy room, the cleaners were great. Staff were friendly
Couldn't order drinks by the pool until a certain time

Rooms and bathroom are a great size and very clean. Nicer, smaller hotel which was nice because there wasn't a lot of people around. Reception staff were great, and the airport transfer company was really nice and accommodating
The free continental breakfast is average for the money, the breakfast staff were regularly confused when we did order breakfast off the menu. But all staff were really nice, just very casual when it came to service
