ideal cottage and location to village of Bourton on the Water, bus transportation, restaurants and places to visit (walking distance to maze, Bird Land, Model Village). Cottage owner was helpful and attended to our questions quickly. Couldn't have found more perfect accommodations for our two-week stay.

Loved the little cottage. Very comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, perfect location. Close to town but a very short walk away.

My wife and I certainly enjoyed our time at the Well Cottage. We had chosen it for its great location only about a 2 minute walk to the River in Bourton, and the unique setting it enjoys. dawn was such a wonderful host and was most responsive when we had trouble getting the heat turned on. Bourton is such a great spot itself and was a great location for driving to surrounding villages in the
Cotswolds. We would love to return again if we have the opportunity. It is definitely a 10, well beyond the 5 that we were limited to.

If you want to feel like you are starring in your own movie in a charming English village, book Well Cottage!
The cottage is situated in the most perfect location. I did not have a car. So I spent mornings on long walks and then a nice lunch in the village. Then "home" to Well Cottage to rest my back in comfort, have a nice hot bath and then an evening out or reading in front of the fire.
I slept so deeply( beautiful linens) in a very cozy bed.
The street just behind the village and the Windrush is quiet and private. Some people will stop and take photos because the cottage and garden are dreamy. Don't hesitate. Book it.

Perfectly positioned and equipped - particularly grateful for the wonderful loaf of bread and marmalade welcoming us on our arrival, graciously provided by our hosts!

Loved the character and the wood fire. Bedrooms upstairs and bathroom downstairs. Not suitable for small children. Ours were 10 and 12, so no problem. The cottage is small but that appeal to us. Off street parking was a bonus. 2 minute walk to the delights of Bourton on the Water

We had the best time at Bette and Dawn’s cottage. It was quaint, relaxing, and peaceful and a quick walk into town. We will definitely be back!

This is a very special Cottage full of history and almost magical with a very warm homely feeling.
We loved our stay and the scones cream and jam that was a surprise on arrival.
So close to everything very friendly country feel to this Village. Was delighted to meet you Dawn and have a chat we would love to return someday.
If you’re looking for a country cottage in a wonderful Village with lots of character look no further.
The added bonus is a warm fire for a cosy night in with a local wine.
Make sure you visit The Den great service and wonderful Cappuccino’s with a hit of real chocolate at the end just delicious.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Its location is ideal being walking distance to several shops, restaurants, and trails and a great spot to explore the Cotswolds! The cottage was clean, very comfortable, and had every thing we needed to cook, do laundry, etc. Also they had some puzzles and games which was a bonus during our cozy evenings after a busy day of exploration. Highly recommend!

We had a great few days. Location is outstanding. Really enjoyed toasting some bread that was given to us upon arrival along with some homemade marmalade and eating it around the fireplace. You cannot go wrong staying here.

Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful 16th century cottage. It is conveniently close to the village centre, and several walking paths, which we appreciated.
Bette and Dawn are lovely hosts, and left us homemade jam and bread upon our arrival. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!

The cottage is a gem in one of the prettiest and most visited villages in the Cotswolds. Our wonderful hosts had left a fresh loaf of local bread, local eggs, and home-made marmalade for us. We look forward to another visit from across the pond.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cottage in Burton on the Water! It's beautifully located in a quiet area of the village, but very close to the centre with all the shops and restaurants. A perfect spot to explore the Cotswolds, with beautiful walks, but also a really nice cottage to sit back and relax, catch up on reading and sleeping after busy times. Dawn was very kind and made sure everything was perfect. We hope to be able to come back!

I have traveled all my life. This is one of the best places I have ever stayed for cleanliness, ambience, location, and owners going out of the way to make sure my stay was perfect. I can't imagine ever going back and not staying at Well Cottage. It's well worth every penny. Wish I was back there now

Our family of four had a great stay at Dawn and Bett's cottage during our Cotswolds holiday.
The cottage was exactly as described - a historic home with lots of original details, but with all the expected amenities.
The house is right in the heart of the village, and has a parking space in the front yard, which is very convenient.
Bette was a wonderful host, she gave us excellent instructions, and even a welcome gift, which was appreciated very much.
We have thoroughly enjoy our stay!

I could not possibly have selected a more perfect property! The cottage is so charming and immaculately kept. It is quite and peaceful while being only a few minutes walk to the center of the beautiful village. But most importantly, the owners are wonderful, caring, and highly communicative people!. To say it was a lovely and an unforgettable experience is an understatement!

This was such a quaint and comfortable cottage. We were three widows traveling alone and found the access to shops and pubs to be such an asset. We could walk everywhere in Bourton on the Water.
We had the best taxi driver who took us to neighboring villages and picked us up when we were ready to return
We found our hosts to be friendly and accommodating and would highly recommend this cottage.

This was a wonderful Cotswolds experience in a period cottage in a fabulous location. The cottage is so well supplied and exactly what my friend and I were looking for. Contact with owner Dawn was excellent before we arrived, she had left us some lovely breakfast treats in the cottage, and we managed to meet her at the end of our stay - such a lovely encounter. Bourton is very centrally located in the Cotswolds so visiting other places was easy. And the cottage itself is walking distance to everything in Bourton-on-the-Water, and had an on-site parking place for our rental car - very important in small villages. We couldn't have been more pleased with everything.

Well the description is true. This was a great property superbly situated for the village. Near enough to be a 2 minute walk from the centre but very peaceful. We had no complaints at all about the accommodation.
The hosts were extremely helpful ( don’t lock yourself out as we did!!)
There really is nothing more to add that has not already been said. It was fantastic in every way.
Thank you

A lovely cottage, very comfortable and just what we needed after being out all day. Having a parking space at the property was a bonus point. Beds very comfortable. Easy walking distance to shops/cafes.
Would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage

A wonderful, characterful property in an incredible location - moments from the river-fronted shops and footbridges that characterise Bourton.
We stayed before Christmas when it had snowed and the experience was magical - there was even a small christmas tree when we arrived which was a delightful addition.
We had the best time and have no hesitation recommending this property (though cannot guarantee the snow).

This is a lovely old stone cottage in a perfect location. It was spotless. Check-in was so easy. The furnishings are very comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked with great cookware and dishes. A welcome pack with bread, eggs and butter. No oils or spices other than salt and pepper which was just fine. A two minute walk to shops, pubs and groceries. You can get anything you need within a few minutes walk. Be aware that ceilings are low. A very tall person may be uncomfortable. My husband is 6'2". He had to duck but he loved it. Also be aware that the shower is in a beautiful claw foot tub that could be a challenge for some. Overall we absolutely loved it.

It's such a beautiful cottage in a very good location close to everything you need

Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The key was easily accessible in the key safe and the cottage was spotless and smelt sooo fresh when we arrived. The cottage was so welcoming, such a charming place. Every need was catered for – there were tea, coffee and sugar, kitchen towels and dishwashing materials in the kitchen and the bathroom was stocked with handwash, soap and toilet rolls. The “welcome pack” was absolutely delightful – Cotswold Honey, butter and an artisan loaf from the local ‘Bakery on the Water’ and a little handwritten postcard from Bette and Dawn.
The bedrooms were absolutely gorgeous, both with double beds and one with a double bed and a single bed and the beds were the most comfortable that we had slept in.
The cottage is situated perfectly to walk into the village, about a 5 minute walk into the centre of the village, which has so much to offer. You can visit the nearby attractions or while away the day sitting on the benches along the side of the River Windrush, the choice is yours.
We saw Bette on a couple of occasions and she was a lovely lady who gave us some tips on the best places to visit during our stay.
I would say that the only downside to our holiday was the fact that our holiday had to end.

What a wonderful charming cottage!! Very clean and well appointed. In a quiet neighborhood yet minutes from the village center. Words can not say enough! Truly fortunate to have stayed at Well Cottage

The position of this cottage is probably the best in the village.
Quiet enough for no disturbance yet 2 mins walk and you were in the centre. Only one very very minor suggestion of summer weight duvets. Otherwise can't wait to come again.

We were so looking forward to a our week "working from home" in Well Cottage, and it did not disappoint. It has to be the most adorable, traditional, photogenic cottage in Bourton-on-the-water (beware of tourists taking photos!), and has all of the mod cons you could as for. The kitchen, though tiny, is well equipped for cooking (there is no dishwasher but really not needed). The beds are comfy, the nights are quiet - we slept like logs! Well Cottage has everything you need for a great Cotswold holiday and is near so many wonderful places. Bourton-on-the-water is a lovely village with some quite good restaurants and a little grocery shop for necessities (Londis). Wifi worked fine. But if you want Netflix or any other TV asps, you will need to bring a Roku or NOW TV box. We will be back!

Magical Cotswold home!
Staying in such an old and wonderful property was a dream come true! Fabulous location, lovely fresh bread on arrival, private parking (in Bourton this is a big plus!), and old world style. Every single day we were there, we’d see tourists stopping outside to take pictures of the cottage. I loved the convenience of an easy walk to the pub or shops and my kids (10-13yrs) loved being able to go out on their own to feed the ducks and walk around the village.

Like a Storybook!
Absolutely beautiful cottage in such close proximity to shops and restaurants, yet situated on such a quaint little quiet road. This was our first time in England, and I wish we'd spent our entire vacation at Well Cottage. Pleasure to meet Bette and know that she was available should we need her or Dawn, yet there was never a feeling of intrusiveness. Very thoughtful gift of bread and jam and champagne for our anniversary - it made us feel so welcome! We'd be delighted to stay here again in the future.

Well Cottage is a lovely cottage that’s full of character and is ideally located to explore Bourton on the Water by foot and by car for those places a little further afield. It was clean and tidy, the beds were very comfortable and overall a pleasure to enjoy its period features. Also, a thoughtful touch from Dawn and Bette, was the local bread and homemade jam left for us.
Thank you. We will certainly return!
