Why Share Our Home?
Good question. We have lived in Arizona for over a decade and are continually drawn to the natural beauty and adventures that Sedona has to offer, but we found that it was difficult to share these adventures with our dogs because of the limited options and high expense associated with staying in Sedona with two dogs, especially larger dogs.
So, we looked long and hard for a second home in Sedona that we could share with others like us who enjoy taking their furry family members with them on vacation. We have a German Shorthaired Pointer and a Redbone Coonhound that love to visit our home in Sedona, where they can see and smell all that this wonderful environment has to offer, and we love watching them enjoy it. We hope that you and your dogs will enjoy it as much as we do.
Sedona is all about the outdoors no matter what time of year. There are so many things to do and enjoy, there is something for everyone. The Red Mountain Shadows Retreat is a great home base to begin your tour of Sedona, whether you’re here for hiking, sightseeing, dining, shopping, golfing, or self-healing. This home is suitable for couples, singles, friends, and children over the age of seven.
We manage our house and do not use 3rd-party companies or vendors. To ensure easy payment processing, we have updated our terms to the minimum VRBO will allow, 25% due at booking and the remainder due 13 days before check-in.

The home was very clean and was on a quiet street but not far from grocery stores, plenty of restaurants and a nice park. We brought our pet dog and she felt right at home with a few dog beds, food and water bowls and nice big yard for her to run around in. The kitchen was very nice and had all you needed to cook. The house had all the amenities that we expected and communication with the owner was very easy.

We had such a relaxing stay! Everything was clean, organized and the host thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. We are already planning on coming back to stay here!

Can't say enough about this wonderful property. Everything is super organized, well stocked and high quality. If you have a dog this is the dog gone friendliest place you could ever stay. The location is perfect, close to everything but now so close you get stuck in traffic. Get places to eat within walking distance. Great indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy. This one is a winner!

I've stayed at a lot of VRBO'S and none have been as beautifully appointed as this one. Absolutely everything you could need was there! The house was amazing in every way and the location was fantastic. Close to a local park with awesome hiking right from the house and in a great part of town.
Jonathan was very attentive to make sure our stay was going well and even left us a welcome bottle of wine. Don't hesitate on this one. We all wanted to move in for a much longer stay!

We love staying here! We've been here a few times in the past and it's still perfect! Well stocked, very clean, comfortable furniture and beds, everything you could want. We brought our dogs and they are very comfortable here. Love that dog bowls, fully fenced off dog run w/dog door, and dog beds are available for use here. You couldn't ask for anything more and this is our favorite vacation home!

We stayed with our pets and had a wonderful time. We do a lot of cooking, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make complex meals which is rare in a rental. We enjoyed time in the yard, soaks in the tub, and the location was perfect to get everywhere we needed to in no time. We will definitely be staying again!

Where shall I start? The responsiveness of the host? He got back to me within minutes, every time! Arrived to a spotless (and I am OCD about cleanliness) home. Everything looked brand new. Mind you, this is a pet friendly home. Not a single dog hair in site. Two huge dog beds, that our golden retriever loved. Attention to detail impeccable: poop bags, animal wet wipes, an extra leash, and the doggie yard. Baxter was in heaven!
The humans loved the extra touches of wine and small snacks provided. A book with QR codes and recommendations of where to eat and the best hikes to enjoy! That book took a lot of time to put together and it was truly appreciated.
The beds and pillows were super comfortable and I took full advantage of the beautiful soaking tub. I have NEVER taken a bath in a vacation rental (OCD remember) but this house was so clean I felt totally comfortable.
Star gazing, telescope provided!
Location; all we wanted to do was within a 5 mile radius. Hiking, food, shopping, tours, etc.
So many extras that I know I am forgetting many!
Lastly, I want to thank the host once again for providing us with such a beautiful home and an unforgettable experience!!!

The house and grounds hit all the right marks. The kitchen was one of the best equipped ones we've encountered. We like to cook and the prep for our dinner party was made easy. Also the location is a great spot for birders. Saw more than 2 dozen species during Christmas week. We highly recommend a stay here.

Great place to stay for 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. We used both bedrooms and the twin pull-out in the family room. House was clean and had all of the essentials plus a few extras that made it special for people and pets. Dogs used the doggy door and outdoor run regularly. We walked to restaurants for breakfast and dinner. Hiking trails and dog park just a short drive away. We would book again in a heartbeat.

Jonathan & Sarah’s home was more than we could have asked for! Living in the valley we frequent Sedona a lot and trying to find a dog friendly place to stay that isn’t overpriced is next to impossible. My in laws were in town to celebrate my husbands birthday and we were looking for a home that had places to sit outside and enjoy the weather & views as well as accommodate our dogs. The home had EVERYTHING for our dogs as well as us. Jonathan & Sarah nailed every little detail from the welcome basket to the guide book all the way to dog wipes and bowls. We will absolutely be back to stay!

Our stay at The Red Mountain Shadow’s Retreat in Sedona was amazing! First, Jonathan communicated everything we needed to know and he even checked in a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed or if we had any questions. As for the property, it was beautiful; the backyard was amazing with a gorgeous view and we enjoyed sitting outside at night just looking at the stars because we can’t see them at home. The inside was nicely decorated, the kitchen was gorgeous and stocked with all the things we needed to make meals. The bed was super comfortable which is a big deal for me because I have a hard time sleeping in a bed that is not my own and as for the master bathroom, all I can say is I never wanted to get out of that shower, I think we will have to put one in our house now. We are very thankful for our time in Sedona and at the retreat and if we ever find ourselves heading that way again, we won’t hesitate to book with Jonathan and Sara again.

We loved our stay at this home! The home is clean, modern, and well stocked with everything we could have wanted. Our dog enjoyed the dog friendly fully enclosed yard and dog run area. Sitting outside enjoying the Sedona evening at the fire pit, while having a glass of wine, was our favorite. The neighborhood is very quiet and it was a very relaxing home. The home is very well kept and the check in and check out was seedless. We look forward to our return!

I had never done a VRBO and I wasn't sure what to expect. This property and home were very nice! Everything that was expected was there and the property and home were very clean and fully equipped with items for a great stay! The owner kept in touch with us and made us feel very welcome. There was information on how to leave the property and what do when you check in. Just an excellent experience! We'd stay there again for sure!

We had a fabulous stay for a month and didn't want to leave.
Everything you need and want is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bathrooms are great, the yard is perfect for the furry ones.
The location is perfect and provides quick and easy access to trails. You can walk to Posse Grounds park and also to the Sunrise trail.
Jonathan was quick to respond to any questions we had before and during our stay.
We plan on returning next year.

This was our second time staying at this home for a multi-week stay, and we cannot recommend this property enough. Jonathan is very responsive - though you will rarely need to reach out as the information he provides covers everything you will need to know. We travel with our pets, and this is by far the nicest pet-friendly property we have found. In addition, it is the perfect location to get to everything in Sedona.
When you stay somewhere for weeks at a time, it is a true test for how well the property has been stocked. We had everything we needed to cook full meals, make our morning smoothies, take luxurious baths, work remotely, and have the pets be comfortable. It is also very easy access to the Stupa, amazing hiking trails, Whole Foods, Uptown, and Tlaquepaque. We even hopped over to Cottonwood to eat at Bocce (incredible pizza).
If you are looking for a place to stay in Sedona, you cannot beat this property. We have already booked for next year.

Top notch communication! Awesome VRBO! Very clean. We loved the fully enclosed backyard. It was absolutely perfect for our barking toddlers. One fur toddler could not get enough of the little bridge over the rocks. We loved the firepit! The property owner/manager was outstanding! Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Beds were very comfortable. Very much appreciated "welcome goodies." Just an overall awesome Christmas weekend at this Sedona VRBO. We loved the Christmas tree as well. Great memories made here! Thank you~
