About this house rental
This is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom converted barn tucked away down a quiet country lane yet within easy reach of many tourist attractions. Recently extended, completely modernised and refurbished it will comfortably sleep six (plus a cot). Upstairs there is a large double bedroom with a built in wardrobe and cupboard, a twin room (the bed zips together to become a super king on request) and a bathroom with integrated shower over the bath. Downstairs there is another double bedroom, shower room with toilet and sink, a bright kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a large living and dining area with a TV, DVD player, games and books. The Barn is south-facing but for colder weather there is underfloor heating downstairs and gas-fired radiators upstairs. There is limitless hot water! It is in a very peaceful location with access to a large private garden and woods full of wildlife and a few paces from countryside walks. Guests are welcome to wander in the grounds (Elvis the very friendly resident black Labrador will be most happy to accompany you if invited!!). but you also have your own seating area. Your hosts will encourage you to inspect the vegetable garden and help yourself to anything that is ripe (depending on the seasons)! Our free range hens provide eggs (usually!) on arrival & on request during your stay. Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Cranbrook and Tonbridge are all less than half an hour's drive away and there are a vast number of historic sites and famous gardens easy to reach including Sissinghurst. Eurotunnel is less than an hour away if you fancy a day trip to the continent. Your hosts (& Elvis) live next door to give any advice or help needed.

The property was perfect for our holiday, great hosts, great location and brilliant facilities in the property.

Our stay was so much better than expected! A cosy retreat, perfectly well-equipped. Many sights we wanted to visit were within a 30 to 45 minute driving distance. Liz and Paul are the nicest hosts - what more can you ask for for a week in lovely Kent! Thank you so much, Liz and Paul!

Comfortable, clean and well-equipped barn conversion next to the owner’s property in a large acreage.
Wonderful garden with chickens, veg patch and woods to explore. A Great Adventure for supervised children to enjoy. Very hospitable owners. Highly recommended.

We spent 2 weeks here, in what turned out to be a perfect base for visiting family and many of the beautiful places in Kent. The cottage was cosy, clean and comfortable with everything we needed and in a lovely, quiet location. The children loved playing in the woods. Thank you Liz and Paul for being such attentive hosts, from the initial booking and right through our stay.

What a beautiful property! Tastfully decorated, lovely comfortable beds and excellent showers! Downstairs bedroom was just right for my 90 year old Mum, with shower room and toilet just next door. Two bedrooms upstairs were roomy with beautiful views. Underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs kept the cottage super cosy and warm. Really well equipped kichen with dishwasher, washing machine (i think) and plenty of crockery, glasses etc. Lovely rural position in beautiful grounds. Liz and Paul were excellent hosts. We had a super time.

It was such a wonderful and peaceful place to stay! Lovely setting and surroundings. Beautiful barn and very comfortable. And the hosts go out of their way to help you in all your needs. The barn has all the utilities you need and more. If possible I would surely come back. Coming from the mainland it is only a one hour drive from the Eurotunnel and you arrive in beautiful Kent. In one word Perfect!

You can just relax in this cozy barn. The kitchen was very well organised. We enjoyed ten days with tips from Liz and Paul to get around. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We loved the garden and the surprises in the barn. Just marvellous. Early in the mornings and late in the afternoon you can watch some rabbits. We didn’t need the books or the TV - but it would have been great options. Liz made sure everyone of us was happy and had everything. A perfect holiday. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at this Kentish property! We enjoyed walking around the several acres, and sitting near the apple orchard. Liz was kind enough to share her vegetable garden with us so we had fresh tomatoes and peppers in our salad. It was also very handy to have two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, the latter of which had accommodations to assist my elderly father. Thanks Liz!! Would definitely visit you again!

Just what we needed. A comfortable place with everything you need for a quiet stay in the country.
We had several pleasant, interesting chats with our hosts but it was clear they never wanted to feel intrusive.
A bit off the beaten track as pretty much everywhere is at least a twenty minute drive. Beware: the local roads have plenty of potholes.
And then there's Elvis, the very friendly black Labrador.
Definitely coming back if circumstances allow.

Myself, my husband and our 2 children stayed for 4 nights to visit friends locally. The cottage was very clean and extremely well equiped, it had everything we needed and more. My children loved visiting the chickens and exploring the woodland. There are plenty attractions locally to visit, we went to some lovely national trust properties, and the cottage itself is rural and peaceful. We would highly recommend a stay here.

We had a fabulous time last week. The house was lovely, in beautiful grounds, rural, but with easy access to towns and attractions. The owners were next door; they were very friendly and welcoming and fixed a minor issue very quickly. Would definitely recommend

Perfect location in countryside
This is a good location between Channel and London. It's only 1 hour to drive from Eurotunnel to the barn. It's easy to discover Kents' castles and gardens. And even going swimming at Eastbourne is 1 hour 20 minutes away. Also going to London is easy by train from Paddock Woods train station. It goes to London Bridge in less than 1 hour. We really enjoyed our 2 weeks in the barn and recommend it to all others. But of course, a car is necessary.

Ideal Spot
Some members of our family enjoyed a short 3 night break in the converted barn. It was an ideal location to be based for our son's wedding at The Gardens in Yalding. Liz was kind enough to exchange emails prior to the stay to help with our preparations and our family were pleased to tell me that the owners were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean and well equipped. Unfortunately they didn't get the opportunity to explore the grounds due to the heavy rainfall that weekend but they really liked what they saw. Our family would recommend a stay there.

Throughly enjoyable stay. The Barn at Den Farm Oast had everything we needed and whilst we were only there a few days would have happily stayed longer. Liz, the owner, is lovely - as is her homemade Jam - and couldn’t have been more helpful and communicative pre, during and post our stay. Highly recommended !

Had a lovely week's stay in the Oast Barn. The hosts were very welcoming, and it was lovely to have some home-made treats waiting for us (the raspberry jam was delicious!).
There was a nice outside space to sit when the weather allowed and plenty of space for the kids to explore on their own and a nice invitation to pick any produce which were available. The cottage is right next to the main door of the owners property.
The cottage is in a good location for trips into Tunbridge Wells, Leeds Castle and almost an hour south to the coast.
The George in the village did delicious takeaway pizzas which were enormous!
The property was very clean and well-equipped. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't provided.
Thanks for a great stay.

Nice stay near Yalding in Kent
A nice warm holiday cottage to stay in winter months as plenty of space for family of 5 and underfloor heating. A warm welcome with complimentary touches and my 3 yr old loved the chickens he could view overwintering in the greenhouse. We were welcomed into Yalding Church on a rainy day where we had a lesson in how bells ring and were lucky enough to be shown up the bell tower to see wonderful views thus my overall positive rating in spite of needing to drive to the areas of Kent we hoped to visit.

Summer holidays in Kent
We had a lovely time and were made to feel very welcome. Being able to pick fruit and wander in the woods was a bonus and made our little girl happy.
The cottage was a perfect base for visiting various parts of Kent including Canterbury and Leeds Castle.
Even the rain didn't ruin our stay.
Thank you!

A little gem.
A little gem in the middle of Kent. Once inside, nothing shows that it is a converted barn. And that's a good thing! The cottage is very well build using high quality materials. Situated in a quiet rural area. The owners made us feel very welcome during our 2 week stay in August 2019. We can certainly recommend this property.

A little gem in a beautiful location
We are 3 generations of the same family aged from 27 to 93. This cottage suited us perfectly. It is situated in rural Kent within easy reach of the M25 and other major routes. There is a downstairs double bedroom and toilet/shower. Upstairs there is a twin room a double room and a family bathroom. The property is superbly maintained and has everything you could possibly need. The lovely owners live in the adjacent house and are on hand for anything you may require. They are genuinely concerned that everything runs smoothly for your holiday and they both made us feel very welcome. Around the barn there are woods and grassy areas and also lots of home grown produce which you are invited to use if you wish. All in all a wonderful well run welcoming rural retreat suitable for all the family.
