The local beach at Savaneta is just 90 seconds by car, I say car as I pack it with chairs, beach towels, cool boxes and beach equipment. (All at the villa for your use) Easier than carrying it! To get there turn right out of the villa, (before the road bends right towards the main road) turn left onto the sand ( just past the houses with the blue roofs) you can access the beach there via a jetty, the beach is down the path to the right. 2. What is Savaneta beach like? Savaneta Beach is a small local beach, it is sandy with a rock pool and jetty. It's great for seeing fish even in the shallow water. It is quiet and more often than not you will be the only ones there. 3. What other beaches are close by? All along the coast road are beaches to explore, Manglo Halto, Santo largo and a new beach just the other side of the marine base, these are the closest ones, just minutes away, Baby Beach is a 15 min drive south and is beautiful! 4. Where is best for snorkelling? Manglo halto is great for snorkelling, Aruba bob runs snorkelling trips there. Most beaches have lovely fish but another great place is de palm island. Here you can do a sea walk (in a divers helmet) and the fish there are amazing! They also have flamingos! 5. Does the villa have snorkels? Yes, we have snorkels. 6. Are all towels and linen provided? Yes, we supply all towels, beach towels and linen. 7. Where are the nearest supermarkets? The nearest supermarkets are on the main road, chows and New Food are very good. These are 2-3 min from the villa. There are several others along the road too. 8. Where is the bakery? Just along the street from Chow’s supermarket is a bakery (blue building) There is also a bakery/cafe on the main road called House of Cakes. 9. Are the local shops open late? The supermarkets open late, chows 8pm, new food 9pm and some of the others on the main road until 10pm. 10. Are there any bars in Savaneta? There are bars on the main road that open late or across the street is The Flying Fishbone for a cocktail and watch the sunset. Zeerover also has a local bar and has sports channels on large TV screens. 11. Where are the nearest restaurants? The nearest restaurants are The flying Fishbone and Zeerover, both just across the street. There are many others just a few mins drive away, these include, Marina Pirata, The Terrace, House of Cakes, Kaminis Kitchen and O’Neil’s Caribbean kitchen in San Nicholas, to name just a few 12. Is Savaneta safe? Yes, Savaneta is very safe, it has a local feel and the residents are kind, helpful and friendly. 13. Is early check-in or late check-out available? If we have no guests due, late check-out or early check-in can be arranged free of charge 14. How good is the WiFi The wifi is great! We installed two routers so the internet would be accessible both inside and outside of the villa. So staying connected around the pool is no problem! If you have any other questions, please ask :-)

My husband and I want to retire to Aruba so rather than staying in the high rises, we appreciated this opportunity to live like locals. Aruba is all about outdoor spaces and this property offers an amazing outdoor living space. The pool is beautiful and there was plenty of shade available to escape the mid-day sun. The outdoor space also includes seating, an awesome tiki bar, a gas grill, and even a clothes line to dry your towels. The only reason to go inside is to sleep, shower, or cook. We only used the air conditioning at night in the bedrooms. Otherwise, we left the windows open to enjoy the cooling trade winds. The neighborhood was safe and we enjoyed sharing our leftovers with the island cats. Patrick and Debbie, thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.

What a special property. It's completely private in the walled oasis, and the salt water pool is just lovely. We lived outside in the shade under the roof, and in the sun on the pool deck, and used the tiki bar every day as the outdoor kitchen.
The inside was perfectly serviceable and the kitchen very adequately equipped . Our hosts very kindly left a generous supply of starter snacks and drinks, as well as basic supplies like dish soap, paper towels, coffee filters, etc.
A few notes - you need a car. You can walk to water views and even placed to climb in to snorkle, but you really have to drive to the beach. Beaches, I should say. We saw and hung out on many really spectacular ones down on the south end and all are about a 15 minute drive.
Savaneta is a fishing village with limited resources and restaurants. You can do very well, but if you expect continental or American style you'll have to drive 10-20 minutes (lots of variety) to the north. The local selection has a lot to offer, fresh fish being the best among the choices! The grocery stores are plentiful and there's lots to come back to your private oasis and grill a nice meal in the tiki bar.
Debbie and Patrick couldn't have been kinder, more accommodating hosts! They were accessible without invading our privacy in any way, and were very responsive to any small issue that might arise.
All in all -- a lovely, private, wonderful stay! Would suit two couples or a family very nicely, and completely special just for my husband and me.

Great time at the house.
We enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. The backyard and the pool are amazing. I think the pool is salt water, which is very nice. Everything else is a short drive away.

Beautiful home away from the hustle and bustle
This "home" is wonderful. My husband and I felt so comfortable there. The back yard is where we spent most of our time. The house has everything we needed for our stay in Aruba. We had our choice every day of staying by the pool, visiting a beach, or touring the island and none of it was more than 30 minutes away.
We especially liked that we were minutes (15-20 minutes by car) from a selection of beaches that are beautiful and not as crowded as the beaches where most of the tourists stay (Baby Beach, Rodgers Beach, and Mango Halto to name a few). Two of the best restaurants on the island are within walking distance (Flying Fishbone and ZeeRovers both of which we visited numerous times).
Debbie and Patrick are wonderful to deal with. They were available to us for any of our needs.
If you are looking for a villa that will feel like home, this is it!!!

Wonderful experience
We recently spent 16 great days at this property, The pool, outdoor bar and cabana
were just wonderful. This totally private area was where we spent all our time. This property was all it was advertised to be. The property owners Debbie and Patrick were very helpful and gracious. Hope to one day return.

I stayed in the villa with a few of my friends for a wedding in Aruba and we had a fantastic time. The outside area was amazing and we spent most of our time outside in and around the pool. The rest of the house was great, but with the beautiful Aruba weather and pool area there was no reason to stay inside.
The area was great and there was a lot of local restaurants that we ended up going to. It was great to see realer part of Aruba away from the resorts and the places nearby were cheaper and delicious. I would recommend renting a car in order to see more of the island.
I would definitely would stay here again.

Peaceful with a lot of options right across the street. The owners were extremely helpful some times return the question you had for them in minutes, Edwin was who met us at the house extremely helpful and very pleasant. The house is very beautiful inside and absolutely astonishing outside. Ambience at night is just beautiful! The flying fishbone is across the street one of our families favorite restaurant also Zee-rovers just next-door to that and across the street from Zee-rovers is a must go to bakery that is open 4 PM to 7 PM every day except Sunday It’s got a lot more than just baked goods there’s meats and sandwiches. There were nine of us in our party never was there the feeling of being stuck on top of each other outside there are three covered sitting areas not to mention the large sitting table outside the cabana is beautiful and has everything you want There’s a refrigerator , Grill with all you’re grilling utensils there’s even a double-sided sink for cleaning your dishes rather than bringing them all the way into the kitchen! Usually the pictures when renting someplace show all the beauty there were so many things when we got there that were not in the pictures that made our stay so much more relaxing. This place is a solid 10 ! We have stayed in Aruba before in the high rise area and had a wonderful time however we had a vehicle and if we ever felt we wanted to go to palm or Eagle beach it was just a short drive But that happened only but once because the house was so relaxing and beautiful. Also if you do choose to go to the beach, baby beach is very close and the house also has fins snorkel and mask’s. tubes and rafts for pool use

Perfect outdoor area with pool! Live like a local in Saveneta!
Debbie attended to and rectified any property concerns we had immediately upon our arrival. Her home is lovely and is in an excellent area if you want to avoid traffic and tourists! It is perfect for a family of 6 or 2 couples. The pool oasis is amazing and definitely was our happy place! There are two excellent restaurants and a bakery that you can easily walk to. Baby beach is about a 15 minute drive. The snorkelling at Mongel Halto is pretty good; 5 minute drive from house. We plan to return!
Thank you Debbie!

Perfect off the beaten path location
This location isn't for everyone, but it was the perfect fit for our family of grandparents, parents and kids! The house is about 15 minutes south of the airport and easy to get to. Debbie (owner) answered all our questions in a timely manner and was great to work with before our trip. We met Edwin (the caretaker) and he handed over keys and the info he knew. He is brand new to the house, so he didn't know everything, but he was very helpful. It had just rained terribly and the pool filter was broken. He had the pool company come out a few days later to fix the pool and all was well there. The outside colored lights and pool light also weren't working and we never did figure them out.
The house was as described, clean, stocked with beach supplies and towels, lots of extra sheets and everything for cooking. Because you're not in the thick of the tourist area, you do have to drive to the beaches. Traffic going north to the hotels is heavy, it took about 30-40 min to get to Eagle Beach area. We didn't enjoy those beaches with our little ones thought, so we opted for Rogers and Baby Beach with just a 10 min drive south.
There are some really great places to eat within walking distance, which is a BIG selling point to us because we love food. The bakery down the road from the house is a must hit spot! They open at 4 PM and the donuts and cinnamon rolls were amazing! ZeeRover's has FRESH fish, but be prepared, it will come cooked and looking at you! The Flying Fishbone was awesome!! We ate too much the day of our dinner reservation so we even went back later to get just dessert. YUM! But make reservations or be prepared to wait.
The kitchen is stocked with all you need to cook, just hit the grocery and save some money making breakfast and lunch at home. The local grocery stores are quite pricey, so make sure you have time to hit up the Super Foods in the city where prices are more reasonable.
There were a few things we wished the house had - some type of cleaning supplies/all purpose cleaner to clean off the counters, a vacuum to get at the sand, a dryer because nothing gets quite all the way dry when hanging outside in the humidity, wash cloths and hand towels, a grill brush to clean the grill, and more plastic/non-breakable plates, cups, bowls.
We would recommend this great house to anyone visiting that doesn't want to be in the hotel mess up north. We would for sure stay again!
