What a delight to stay in the lovely historic little cottage, in the town where parts of The Vicar of Dibley” and “Midsummer Murders” tv series were filmed. Out host was wonderful and the locals at the historic Bull and Butcher Pub were so welcoming, right from our arrival. Thoroughly recommended. Beware, your mobile phone will almost certainly not work in and around Turville, so be prepared to use emails for comms, or drive a few km until you get reception!

A sweet little cottage in a wonderful location for cycling and walking. Bird-lovers would enjoy the number of red kites flying about. The local pub was only a few minutes walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Definitely would recommend to others.

We had a lovely relaxing "Vicar of Dibley" weekend taking in the sights of the village and watching the entire boxset of the tv series... the cottage had everything we needed for a home away from home stay.

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Plenty of crockery and utensils. Twin beds were very comfortable.the double bed is quite a hard mattress. We loved our stay.
I would say that the cottage would benefit from a little TLC, for example the shelf above the sink and the area where the tray is look untidy and a bit dirty. But we had a great stay and I would certainly stay there again.

Wonderful, simply wonderful. Quintessentially English village located in beatiful rural area, yet close enough to everything. Kate (the owner) was so welcoming and the cottage has everything you could wish for. We visited Oxford, London, Henley on Thames, Reading and Basingstoke and still had time to enjoy the cottage and its surroundings. Would love to come again to visit. And would definitely recommend.

Beautiful village - lots of good walks and located to be handy for Henley, Marlow, Wycombe, Wallingford, etc..
The little lane past the front of the cottage can be busy with walkers, cyclists, horse riders and at school times, but otherwise a lovely, peaceful little bolt hole.
We would definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay. Nice enviroment, nice cottage, interesting area. Not far from Oxford, London and even Stonehenge.

We enjoyed walking, a visit to London and local National Trust locations. Found the heating controls confusing, had to use a lot of logs as it was cold for the time of year. Kitchen equipment a bit basic for 4 star rating.

A great location in a beautiful village with lovely walks nearby. The cottage itself is very small, but quaint and well equipped. We found the bed was too hard.

The cottage was fine. Just a pity that the garden is so far from the house. The description did warn, but it was a pity. Walls are paper thin to next door neighbours (could hear them snoring!) but the area is beautiful and with a garden at the back door, it would have been wonderful. Still, was pretty good, with friendly, helpful neighbours, excellent bedding/ towels and a brilliant butter dish! Wood burning stove worked well and kitchen is well equipped (although fridge needed mopping out as had been left too low temp.)

The cottage is charming, clean and well equipped. It is situated in a truly lovely little Chiltern Village. We were there for a visit to the nearby Garsington Opera Festival, so it was only a short stay. Particularly to be recommended is the local pub with wonderful pies.

All very nice, our second time. Well equipped kitchen and plentiful hot water for the bath, which is always nice. Enjoyed the log burner after trial and error.
I found the bed in the main bedroom a bit hard but I am 'getting on' so it is probably just me.
Another strange thing. I couldn't find the router, which I was going to plug into so that I could do some work while there. I had the same problem last time but had forgotten, a mystery. Anyway, it was, in a way, nice to have an excuse not to work!
We felt at home. The place was immacutely clean. All very lovely.

Amazing gem in quintessentially English village
We had one of the best weeks away ever - Turville is beautiful and so is the cottage. Comfortable beds, lovely shower, wood burning stove and a sweet garden across the pathway - couldn’t ask for more! Its well equipped and of course for such an historical property very cosy which adds to the charm.
One of the best things is being away from everything, there is wifi although mobile phone reception was vague at times so we arranged to have our calls diverted to the property which accepts incoming calls no problem. Nearest shops are a few miles away which also adds to the feeling of being able to get away from everything.
We found out that Turville has been used in loads of films and television programs which isnt surprising as the village is pretty much the same as it would have been 400 years ago! There is a gorgeous church and fantastic pub which just adds to the charm of the place.
We just didnt want to leave at the end of the week and cant wait to come back to stay again! Thank you so much for letting us share this amazing property.

Had three nights here for a short birthday holiday. Very quiet and peaceful, with beautiful surroundings. It was nice to be able to walk out from the property onto the neighbouring hills. In many ways a great location - no city bustle in the village, but a short distance from nice country houses, the shopping village at Bicester, Henley, Marlow and Oxford.
The cottage was comfortable, we slept well and we enjoyed the log fire. The hob was fine - although one burner didn't seem to work - and we didn't use the oven. Although early October it was a bit chilly, but we easily got the place nice and warm. However facilities are limited by the location - no 'phone signal and the TV was not really watchable.
The pub is OK, but as the village has no street lights there is not much else you can do - although the upside is being able to see the stars.
So great for a short break - I'm not sure we would have been so happy staying for a week - but the tranquility would suit many, I am sure.

Very old cottage & could be comfortable upstairs & down. Upstairs was ok but downstairs the lounge is awful. The settee & chairs smelled very musty & so uncomfortable to sit in - it was ikea type settee full size which smelled like been left out in the rain for weeks - the lounge itself felt dirty. The floor covering in the kitchen was folded in places rumpled & unsafe to walk on. We couldn’t wait to go home & I would never ever recommend this property.

Gorgeous cottage in the Chilton Hills
This was a lovely little cottage in the tiny village of Turville. It was a cosy, cute place to spend our time during a winter snowy weekend. The pub is the only 'shop‘ in town. Groceries are a few villages away. Two small bedrooms upstairs, with comfy beds & reasonable storage. Small living room with seating for 4. Wood burning stove in open fireplace for atmosphere, as central heating in all the rooms kept us warm. Well equiped kitchen even though small. Lots of walking in all directions & great scenery when driving around.

A clean, comfortable and well presented little cottage in a quintessentially English village.
Wonderful walks on the doorstep of this pretty little cottage. Several country pubs within easy walking distance and lots of interesting places to visit nearby. We spent a day at the Henley Literary Festival and enjoyed a beautiful riverside walk along the Thames Path.

Beautiful cottage and location
Lovely property and location. Has all the things needed for a great holiday. Ideal for walks And relaxing. In a quiet, peaceful village.

Very cosy cottage, in tranquil village nestling in pristine countryside.
The cottage is very snug and cosy. The log burner is great and the pub in the village is about 100m and also has a nice ambiance, a roaring fire and good food. The village Nestle's in the valley surrounded by fields and forrest making for great walks up part the windmill or circling by other village pubs... If you want to just relax by the fire, enjoy good pub food and drink or go cycling and walking this is a treat you'll love... We had a lovely time. The village is within easy reach of the M40, Henley, High Wickham and several My properties too. Enjoy your stay
