Beautiful, friendly staff, go out of their way to make you feel at home, not pretentious, let the kids feed their cows. A nice break on our busy trip and a highlight!

Cosy , clean ,
Did not know how to regulate the temp .

Location was lovely. Outdoor terrace was welcomed on a sunny afternoon.
Bit bijou in terms of dining experience, odd corralling of guests pre dinner into a small drawing room that didn’t really suit number of people vs. chairs. Odd to pre-order food beforehand, would have much preferred to be seated at table. Struggled with menu, thought it wasn’t anything special or something worth the price charged - presentation of starter and dessert was far from expected , especially with a chip in one of the bowls.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our rented car and they were very helpful in assisting us to deal with the problem. Breakfast in the orangerie and dinner were lovely and all the staff were specially friendly. Also before and after dinner drinks in the sitting room made us feel right at home.

excellent staff and food
lovely location in wonderful countryside

the location
this hotel is punching above it’s weight.
charged us £90 for soup and salad ( veloutè) 😂
no prices on the dinner menu of 3 meat choices no fish or veg option. obsessed with satisfying American guests at the expense of local visitors .

Hosts and staff marvellous. Good modern facilities. Lovely quiet location.
Only issue was having to walk to main building from the garden rooms for food or drink. Slightly overpriced food and drink.

Lovely charming house in ideal location to get away from it all. Very welcoming, helpful staff and fabulous food in the restaurant.
The only thing was the room was cold and additional heater was needed.
4.1
Lovely staff and property. Food was fabulous.
Room was extremely small. Not even to put a suitcase. You had to use the bed.
4.1
Clean and well appointed double room, with a nice view. Excellent shower, warm, quiet and a good nights sleep. Friendly staff.
Couldn't figure out how to adjust the temperature of the room (in the Walled Garden). Queuing to make toast at breakfast!

The area in which the Old Manse is located is beautiful.
The hotel was dirty in entrance and stairs to room. Room was full of dust, bathroom really dirty and containers for soap etc were covered in contents and fingermarks. Toilet brush was so filthy it was sickening and one robe had make up marks along collar. Welcome tray did not reflect price point and star rating and there were no instructions in the room for anything - heating, wifi, tv, times of meals, facilities etc. There was one member of staff only whom we met during our stay who was trying to do everything. We left early notwithstanding having paid a large amount for our stay and the owner, who was not onsite when we checked out, has made no attempt to contact us.

Friendly staff who can't do enough for you
Everything was good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Manse. The Owner was most welcoming and made sure everything was taken care of while we were there. We had an amazing breakfast each morning and had a delicious dinner in the beautiful atrium dinning room. Highly recommend this property!
4.1
The property and rooms were very well kept and up to date.
There was nothing in the description about the location of the rooms to the main house. We stayed in the rose room and if you needed anything you had to walk all the way down to the house. Although the staff was really nice and accommodating, they seemed to be short on the number of staff they had.

Breakfast lovely. Staff great. Nice location.
Room did not meet with expectations for the money we paid, it was tiny and smelled of damp, caused by the fact that the shower flooded the wet room and part of the bedroom when it was on. I don’t think the room has been used in a while, I wonder if it is kept by the hotel to use for those who don’t book direct.

An absolute gem of a hotel set in beautiful grounds with the most amazing staff that looked after us throughout our weekend stay and ensured that we had everything we needed.
4.1
The room and outdoor patio just gorgeous, super king size bed amazing, slept so well
Heated towel rail didn’t come on to dry towels despite mentioning it every day, neither did radiator although rooms so well insulated didn’t need it. Also thin walls between us and neighbouring guests who banged on wall because we had tv on

location was excellent
we’re shown to a room that was not the room we booked. we’re then taken to another room which was better but the bed was awful.

It was an absolutely lovely accommodation that exceeded expectations and I certainly plan on staying in again. The staffs professionalism and kondness absolutely exceeded expectations.
The room we were in was next to the family room where small children were staying. The hotel was well designed but as my partner is autistic any disturbance especially small children’s noises is difficult. They were kind to make sure the additional cots were placed as far away as possible. The room was also quite warm as there is not much in the way of air conditioning.

The Old Manse was exceptional. Our room was outstanding with the biggest bath I've ever seen! Anne and her team were extremely welcoming and friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was superb. We were only staying one night as we were travelling across the country but I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. A totally luxurious experience from start to finish
I can't fault anything
