An extremely comfortable home away from home amongst stunning views

The Pigsty is a beautiful home away from home which oozes character and soul. It is warm and cosy and scrupulously clean with stunning views across the countryside. The hosts seem to have anticipated your every need within the property and the shower is to die for, probably the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in too. The location is sterling, convenient for Alton towers, the wonderful and unique village of Ashbourne and gorgeous walks and hikes only a stones throw away. The hosts went above and beyond, and we will definitely be returning again. An utter bargain of a stay, if you find a vacancy, be sure to snatch it up, you wont regret it. Thankyou so so much for our wonderful and welcoming stay.

very cosy accommodation, perfect location with stunning views!

the location was perfect for what we wanted, peace and quiet and stunning views, property was made to a high standard and had everything we needed. the bed was comfy and the property smelled lovely and fresh and clean. we would definitely stay here again, the owners made us feel most welcomed.

Idyllic Property

Perfect quiet location. Easy to travel to. Property was ideal for two people, had all the facilities required as listed in the description for our week long stay including smart TV, cafetiere and wood logs. Plenty of local guidebooks available for local walks.

It’s a wonderful retreat, away from everyday hubbub. Very peaceful, it was our second stay, and won’t be our last. Hosts were brilliant.

Lovely place to stay in good location for exploring the Derbyshire Dales.

Great location for exploring the Derbyshire Dales. The property is in a lovely small village. It's very quiet and rural with views of the landscape. The property is nice with attention paid to details and well equipped for a self-catering stay. There is also plenty of information about what one can do in the area (if you haven't done your research). The hosts are friendly and approachable with any questions you may have.

Being really picky - the 24 inch TV with tinny sound wasn't great.

Autumn Stay

It is a charming cottage which is very well equipped to accommodate two people . The kitchen equipment is of good quality and easy to use . It is in a beautiful location with stunning views over the Weaver Hills. The owners are close at hand, very friendly and helpful.

A real tonic for mind, body and soul

The property is very well equipped. We didn’t get as far as using the garlic press, playing scrabble or reading a book, but we certainly utilised everything else. Location and view has to be the best thing to be enjoyed about our stay. Waking to a setting moon or rising sun through to settling for an autumnal evening with the peaceful surroundings is superb. The property is immaculately clean, well looked after and is modern in style to be comfortable and has been very well thought out in its layout. The hosts are extremely helpful and welcomed us, a nice warm and human touch.

No causes for concern. We loved it!

A wonderful stay at the Pigsty

We had a perfect stay at the 'Pigsty'. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, comfortable and so well equipped. The location is perfect for exploring the Peak District. Thank you Sue and Mark for making our stay so wonderful.

If you're looking for an 'Escape to the Country', look no further than The Pigsty!

The Pigsty is an absolute 5* gem in the Peak District. Beautifully refurbished to a very high standard, stunning, quiet location and Sue and Mark were excellent hosts. The perfect base from which to explore the many delights of the area and the glorious weather was an added bonus! This was our first visit to The Pigsty but won't be our last!

Fabulous property

What a fabulous property; wonderful location with an exceptional view, extremely clean and comfortable, very well equipped with high quality appliances- what more could you ask for?! Every little detail had been thought of and we look forward to returning. (Most of the photos are of outside as it was just amazing!!!! And I don’t take many photos of bathrooms!)
