Great place for a family getaway
We really enjoyed ourselves and were disappointed that the week ended so quickly. We would be happy to return another time.

PERFECT COTTAGE!
Amazing getaway with the family! Getting our large family together is always a special occasion, but enjoying it at Winsome Silver Lake was special. The cottage is beautiful, spectacular, and very well equipped. The cottage was extremely clean and had everything you could possible need. The high ceiling and big windows made the view of the lake be appreciated by all. Overall, amazing place and team. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect and memorable. We’ll definitely be back again!!

Good stay but with some unfavorable memories
The property,
house, location, lake , beach was great! It was a good cottage stay.
We did have some issues though (none that were deal breakers, just soured the stay a little).
1. I would bring everything you need even if they say it is provided.
I have written correspondence with the rental company about them providing children and infant life jackets for us to use. However upon arrival there was no life jackets available for the children (only 4 adult jackets). They did not acknowledge this previous correspondence I had with them and did not apologize for this mistake on their part (possibly a new employee who didn't know every thing). We had to buy them in Parry sound. (Despite having life jackets at home for our children). Had they at least apologized for their mistake I wouldn't have had an issue with this.
2. The BBQ grill was completely rusted through 3/4 of the grill grates (one of the grates was even broken). A health hazard with prolonged use especially since there was also loose bits of rust.
This issue I do not blame the rental company, obviously previous renters did not take care of the grill and has caused it to become like this. Their solution, rather than replace the grill was to have the cleaners come to clean and oil it. Even the cleaner was shocked at the state of the "2 year old" grill. Needless to say we did not use the BBQ.
I would suggest having the cleaners, clean the grill after every stay as a 2 year old grill should not be so rusted.
Despite these issues we did enjoy our stay.
The rental company is very responsive.
Cleaners came shortly after I told them one of the tub was draining very slowly. The dishwasher stopped working midway through our stay and they were trying to help us to get it working. Likely food stuck in the drain from regular use since the cottage doesn't have very good water pressure to flush everything.

Quiet Lake Getaway!
Overall, this was a very well-appointed cottage. Surprising how many amenities were provided (e.g., toilet paper, spices, hand soap, etc...). The cottage itself was huge and even on the rainy day, we (all 11 of us and a dog) did not feel cramped in any way. The kids loved the ping pong and foosball. There were plenty of board games, card and soooo many books and magazines. It felt like we were staying in a friend's cottage with all the personal touches. The kayaks and canoes were great and were used daily. Fishing from the dock was fun and many fish were caught (and released). The only issue with the water area we had was the shallowness and many trees logs in the water near the dock did not allow actual jumping or swimming near the cottage. The kids went out into more open water to swim. People with young children shouldn't have that issue though as the beach area was nice with a nice shallow entry for little ones.
The cottage was in a private area with neighbours a good distance away. However, it was close (10 min) drive to MacTier for groceries or a bit further into Perry Sound. We all had a very enjoyable stay at Winsome Silver Lake!

Lovely cottage
This cottage is very large and well equipped. It was as advertised. Lake is shallow for swimming in the area by the beach. Can hear occasional vehicles on the highway but it is not close to the cottage. Views from the deck are all trees and lake!

Nightmare Holiday
The pictures and write up are not a true representation of this property. The condition it was in when we stayed in Aug was filthy dirty, no appliances working, no way to cook food or keep it cold as refrigerator was warm and BBQ was well worn out. As you see in pictures the lovely canopy over the dock area. What!! Not there and the dock was a sunken unusable mess. Paid the deposit for towels and only had four until more arrived two days later. after sending in our complaints via email. Will not discuss problems over the phone. Plumbing was ridiculous. Could not flush toilets. Had to use a plunger even for a pee. No water pressure or hot water. Our list goes on and on. Was disgusting and no service. We were accused of lying even after we submitted pictures. Did not even recognize the pictures of the basement. It was a horrible mess with broken glass and furniture in bad shape. Beware of the snakes and snapping turtles.

Beware! Not as it seems
The property looks lovely in photos but...
The lake is landlocked so you can't get a boat in if you rent one.
The basement is not exactly habitable if you thought you would share it with a large group or multiple families as advertised - its unfinished and a bare concrete floor, roughed in steps to main floor, it was filthy when we arrived and one of the kids stepped on broken glass. We found broken glass shards all over :-/
Beds weren't great, broken springs in the mattresses, obviously old and broke down throw aways, one couch is broken and the bbq was completely unusable . The pull out bed was broken so thank goodness we had an air mattress. We had to ask for a BBQ to cook on.
When we reported our issues with the management company they were quite rude and accused us of lying right off the start. I sent photos. They have been quite unpleasant to deal with constantly accusing us of lying even after the photos and i offered to have them come on site as well. They did send a bbq and the guys from Broil King were great! Even gave us some fishing tips!
Plumbing isn't great - basement bath had to be plunged to flush, upstairs shower doesn't drain so you're standing in dirty water, all the bathrooms were less than clean upon arrival. Cleaners had to be brought back which was ok as we had no towels on site upon arrival. One bed had grass and dirt in it so thank goodness we had our own linens. The management company refused to refund the cleaning and linens fee even though we had to clean for over two hours on arrival. Again we were accused of lying.
The main living area and kitchen was nice although we did have issues with both fridges in the beginning.
Concierge service was non existent as I asked about several amenities and activities near by... i was given a website to find a boat rental. They didn't respond to anything else I asked about.
I'd start by finding a different rental agency. The property is ok, definitely not 5*, just ok but dealing with the management company was worse. Their Director of Client Services is like wow... I don't think I've ever been treated so poorly before in my whole life and accused of anything they could dream up. We're normal, honest people and very respectful. I felt like we should get a lawyer or something after all the allegations and accusations. It was not a good experience that still lingers today

Beautiful place in the heart of Muskoka
We had a lovely stay on silver lake. The accommodations were amazing for our two families with many kids and a dog. What a view from the deck of house where we ate dinner every night. Weather was fantastic too!

Great property, fantastic location and all the amenities you would need
Great extended stay over the May long weekend. Plenty of things to do for both kids and adults.
The main living space is fantastic for larger groups to share and be together, just as the pictures show. The kitchen had everything you needed and the bbq was top notch.
The lake was quiet and the stay was very relaxing.
The cottage is very close to Rocky Crest golf and spa which we all took advantage of.
Ross and Maryrose were fantastic to deal with, they answered any questions very quickly and the booking process was simple.
Great stay!
