Come create beautiful memories in our completely remodeled and updated home on West Island. Step back in time where your worries are carried away as you bike along the island roads, walking to one of the five beaches, hiking the trails to secluded beaches, kayak Buzzards Bay or Nasketucket Bay, watch the beautiful sunsets or sit around a campfire. West Island is an undiscovered gem that is an hour drive from Boston without the hassle of the bridges or traffic of Cape Cod. Over half the island is State conservation land offering many trails and wildlife.
Our coastal island dream home is like a tiny slice of heaven. Sea Salt has a large cathedral ceiling open concept kitchen dining area with all brand new stainless steel appliances, living room with gas fireplace, 60 inch HDTV and DVD player, WiFi, three bedrooms ,walk in rainfall shower, full sized washer and dryer ,all make up the inside of our home.
Relax on the back porch overlooking a lush landscaped partially fenced yard, grill local caught seafood on outside gas grill , enjoy dining under the stars in our sea shelled dining area, sit around a natural rock fire pit or let your cares wash away in an outside spa, complete with rainfall shower and an antique claw foot tub with hot and cold water. Once here you may never want to leave.
For your convenience we provide beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, reading books and some board games.
Within 4 miles you will find large supermarket chains, department stores and restaurants. There is a ferry located at both Fairhaven and New Bedford that can take you to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.

Sea Salt Cottage is beautifully designed and decorated, and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway: beach, porch sitting area, firepit, outdoor shower, bright and spacious kitchen, quiet neighborhood, ice cream shop and restaurant within walking distance, and more. This was our fifth stay here, and we will be back!

We were so thrilled with Beth and her home. We were looking for a bit more space for our little family, and this place was perfect. The island is great and a nice secluded little community. We hope to return next year.

This was our family of 4 first experience with a VRBO and it was amazing. The Sea Salt Cottage had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We loved riding the bikes through out the island and the other amenities the cottage offered. Beth, the owner, was so easy to communicate with and offered so much information for activities to do in the area. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying here.

The house was beautifully decorated without being precious. There were many places both inside and outside to relax. The three bedrooms are off the kitchen and the feeling of the rest of the house is open and bright. In the shed there were several bikes from which to choose. We hadn't been to West Island before; it's pretty sleepy...one ice cream place .1 mile away:) We mostly just hung around reading and eating ice cream every night and that worked for us!
The island is very easy to figure out as it's an alphabetical grid. It seems like it would be a great place to bring kids because they could ride their bikes around without much worry.

I rented the house to attend my daughter's wedding and it couldn't have been a more perfect home away from home. Kitchen was well stocked and the house was decorated beautifully. The host was very responsive and helpful. Bikes and cornhole came in handy!!

Beth & Steve are amazing hosts! Sea Salt Cottage is a true gem. The location can't be beat: only a mile from the private beach on West Island and only 15 minutes from the New Bedford ferry terminal. The house is so comfortable inside and out, with a gorgeous kitchen, a cozy back porch, outdoor shower, swing, lawn for games, and a firepit. Our family has stayed at Sea Salt Cottage for four years in a row and can't wait to go back next year!

we loved our stay at Sea Salt Cottage- the property was well kept and very clean. The kids enjoyed smores every night at the firepit, bike rides around the island and ice cream from West Island Creamery. Beth was also a very responsive host. Highly recommend a stay here- the cottage brought us back to our New England childhood!

This property was as described in the listing. It was perfect for our family of 4. The house was clean and comfortable. The yard was perfect for playing and relaxing. We particularly enjoyed biking through the nearby DCR property and exploring the different beaches. Thank you for a nice getaway to start the summer!

We LOVED our stay here. The house is beautiful with sooo many amenities...outdoor shower, swing, stunning back yard with flowers, playtoys, grill, comfy beds, awesome cafe porch, and a fully stocked and equipped kitchen. It's a great location too. Beth was very responsive and timely, as well as helpful for recommendations. You must eat at Off the Hook and take in the live music! Thank you Beth and Steve for sharing your beach home with us! We plan to return for sure!

Someone obviously took great pleasure in decorating and outfitting this house. It had absolutely everything we needed and everything else to make a vacation incredible. The furnishings, the linens, the kitchen utensils, the outdoor bath..the backyard furniture, the back deck.....It was sublime.

I have never stayed in a rental that had such a well stocked kitchen-from spices to flour to every possible cooking utensil. Kitchen/dining and living room well appointed with a spacious private back shaded yard, gas grill, fire place, and comfortable outdoor furniture . Storage shed with bikes, beach chairs and children's beach toys .Corn Hole game as well. Close to the town beach.

Sea Salt Cottage is a place where all your worries melt away. The accommodations are more than comfortable and West Island is such a quaint area. The private beach is so peaceful. With a grocery store only 10 minutes away & the ferry terminal less than 20, the possibilities for staying in or heading out on adventures are endless. This was our third stay at Sea Salt and we hope to be back next year!

The area of the location is wonderful, the beach is so close, and everything you could possibly need for your stay is at this house. Perfect New England getaway for friends. Beth was so helpful and responsive, and she gave us so many great suggestions. 100% would stay again.

Perfect New England Seaside Getaway
This place is just as the listing describes. Perfectly appointed house in a quiet residential neighborhood. Check in was quick and easy. Beth was the perfect host. Always quick with commmunication and available to answer any questions. The house, itself, is gorgeous. Huge eat in kitchen/ding room. Comfy living room and tons of high quality bedding for the guests. Where Sea Salt really shines though is in the outdoor space. Huge outdoor area with everything you need. Awesome fire pit (we used almost every night) and outdoor dining area. The outdoor shower has to be experienced to be believed. This isn’t a garden hose hanging off the gutter…this is a full hot/cold bathroom with a view of the stars. Definitely a highlight. We loved every minute of our stay.

This was the perfect cottage and location for a relaxing getaway. My husband and I loved every minute and would highly recommend staying here to those looking for a quiet, calm place near the water. Beth and Steve were very responsive and provided great suggestions for food and recreation. I already miss it!

Wonderful time with family
We had a wonderful time staying at the Sea Salt Cottage on West Island. Beautiful area that's not as busy as other areas so it was a nice retreat. Beth was great in communicating with us and letting us know all of the activities available to us, including hiking around the trails on the island. We really enjoyed our time and would stay there again.

Charming and peaceful
This is our second time staying here and we just love it. The house is so comfortable and I love that the kitchen has everything including several types of coffee makers. West Island is charming, lovely beaches and nice walks.

Another wonderful Thanksgiving!
We stayed here three years ago to host Thanksgiving for family in the area, and we liked it so much we came back! Even in the off-season, a wonderful cozy home. Still impeccably decorated and maintained. Owners are very responsive and kind. We'll be back!

Beautiful and restfull
The home is beautiful with everything you need. The island beautiful and quiet, with beautiful beaches. Plenty to do in the area. Grocery stores, bakery, and restaurants close by. Beth the owner was very helpful and responsive. She also gave us great local information, including things to do. We can’t wait to return.

Lovely getaway
Sea Salt Cottage is the perfect spot to relax and get away from it all! West Island is lovely all around from its beaches to its sunsets to the quiet. An easy drive to the ferry terminal in New Bedford expands the range of fun and beauty to lots of other islands. Beth and Steve are such amazing hosts that we've stayed at Sea Salt Cottage two years in a row (so far)!

Amazing Family Time
We just got home from this amazing place! Beth was helpful throughout from before booking, to giving suggestions before we arrived and answering questions during our stay. The house is a beautiful beach home, my daughter's lived the outdoor shower and tub. The inside was beautifully decorated and comfortable with everything we needed. The area is quiet and great for families. The beach was not crowded and everyone was so friendly.

Excellent location on a quiet island in a home with everything we needed to relax. House has a well equipped kitchen and a warm and cozy feel for our family. We spent out days relaxing on the island, bike riding and walking. In the evening we would arrive home and cook dinner. It was exactly what we needed and enjoyed our time.

Absolutely beautiful beach escape
This house is a gem! The photos are beautiful but stepping into the house will take your breath away - so thoughtfully decorated, larger than expected, and everything you need for a wonderful trip. The beach itself is close, warm water and friendly people, but even bad weather is okay because you get to enjoy the luxury of the house! We did many dinner reservations "on the main land" and had so much good food. Beth was so easy to comminicate with, super helpful and very responsive. Amazing trip!

4th of July getaway
The home is lovely and situated in a family friendly beach community. There were a few issues with appliances... the refrigerator was set to highest setting but food/drinks did not get very cold. Outdoor cushions were left out in rain by prior renters making them too wet to use. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes very well had to run a few loads twice on highest setting. Way too much "beach decor" throughout home causing clutter.

Idyllic retreat!
Sea Salt cottage is without a doubt just about the best rental property we have ever stayed in! My family of 4 loved everything about it, Beth and Steve have truly created a home away from home. From the lovely cottage garden with fire pit, grill and tons of seating, to the superb kitchen and interiors, we all said we’d love to return.
West Island is tranquil and has great beaches to explore and it’s fun to cycle around on the bikes provided at the cottage. Lots of possibilities for outings, we went to New Bedford (really close) and Boston (about 70 min). Most of our time was spent relaxing at this wonderful vacation retreat.

Gorgeous Retreat
We loved staying at this beautiful, spacious home. I truly appreciated all of the bathing products, towels, and beach towels.The only recommendation I have is to have less decorative items on nightstands, end tables, and dressers as it is hard to set anything down. Also the amount of decorative pillows are beautiful but there is not enough room to put them after removing them from the bed.

Wonderful getaway!
We had a fantastic stay! The house is warm and inviting, well-maintained and beautifully decorated, very clean and stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen is definitely a highlight (of many highlights!), and the backyard was perfect for outdoor dining and play.
We also loved West Island - beautiful and perfectly quiet, with easy access to trails, beach, and gorgeous views.
Beth was very helpful, providing great suggestions for what to do, and also responding promptly to my questions.
We really loved our stay at Sea Salt Cottage and would absolutely stay again!
