Location is brilliant, right in the centre of everything. Handover of keys was very easy. The property is very quirky and nicely kept.
There were 6 of us staying and we personally slept in the loft room (a couple) this is accessed by a ladder which was fine for us, but not safe for kids or older people. Also no blinds / curtains in this room so an early wake up for us.
Nice place though, we would stay again.

Fantastic location and quirky. Good facilities , kitchen items, bedding and towels. Notes around the house giving instructions, this is a great idea.
Outside of property looks fantastic and well maintained. Roof terrace an added bonus.
Bed on top floor, 2 mattresses laid horizontal. This means if in the bed it moves with the person/persons, not comfortable, should be one mattress that fits the bed. Wooden window frames all let in air as rotting, need replacing. Woodwork in other areas needs replacing or stripping back and fixing then revarnishing. Mix of the modern and old furniture not great. Keep the old furniture and add proper wardrobes, not fabric ones. Curtains do not keep out light. Add blackout liners that can be used separately so choice if people like to keep light out for more restful sleep. House mostly clean but needs attention to detail especially in the kitchen i.e. cooker knobs, microwave.

Location was great and beds were pretty comfy.
Shower needs a revamp; water sprays everywhere and temperature isn’t consistent. Lots of noise at night from pub across the road. Loft bedroom doesn’t have any curtains.

This quirky property was in an excellent, central location in Whitstable; great for the beach, especially if you have children like ours who like to be in the sea every morning.
The main bedrooms were very comfortable, especially the master bedroom. The third room on the upper floor was brilliant for our eldest child (aged 12) who loved the independence but it was up a ladder and only included a futon so may not be suitable for everyone. It also opened out onto the roof terrace which is not particularly safe for young children, so we had to make sure he was aware not to go out there on his own.
There were a lot of steep stairs in the property. Whilst this really was not a problem for us at all and added to the amazing character of the house, it would have been difficult if we had had a lot of luggage or any mobility issues.
The house was really clean and welcoming and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The kitchen was modern and well equipped and the bathrooms were clean and well-fitted, especially the very deep bath!
We loved our stay in the Harbour Building and loved being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the town centre and the proximity to the sea.
If you want a quirky place to stay in the centre of things then this could be just the place for you....just be aware that you may have to hunt about for parking!
For us the whole place was great... before you book just be aware of the stairs and that parking can sometimes be a challenge to find. Also, the location, which suited us really well, could get a bit noisy at the weekend due to its proximity to the town and pubs and also the local seagulls!

A beautiful property with bags of period features and character! Well presented and comfortable. Loved the central location and particularly enjoyed relaxing on the roof terrace. Short walk to the bustling harbour area, easy walking distance to Tankerton Beach, plus the local shops and all the cafes bistros restaurants and takeaways literally on the doorstep along Harbour Street.
Wished there were darker curtains or additional blinds, we ended up improvising to make the rooms darker. The second bedroom had no privacy due to glass panes in door. We weren’t sure which room was the 3rd Bedroom as the loft room had no curtains at all - we used the living room sofa bed. As to be expected in location there was traffic/pedestrian noise in the evening but not particularly late, and again from early morning - but quiet as a mouse overnight. We struggled to find a free parking spot on the roads suggested and resorted to the long stay car park for part of our stay.

Location was excellent and we loved the quirky building especially the roof terrace.
Pillows were hard. We used the top room as a bedroom which was fine but there were no curtains.

Liked the quirkiness and space, lovely space. Great modem bathroom and kitchen.
Parking difficult, it wasn’t the cheapest and then we had another £35 in parking. Great location however meant lots of traffic

Good location.
Modern kitchen and bathroom but the shower runs hot and cold. Living room furnished on the cheap as was the dining room. The bedroom had no wardrobes and featured a half-finished four-poster bed. Sea view only possible from the roof—providing you're prepared to climb a ladder to get there. And in this day and age window frames that rattle in the wind should be replaced. Vastly overpriced. Paid for three nights, checked out after two. Our stay cost £783: a fair price would have been £400.
