Tolle Location, super Lodge mit Platz für Verbesserung!

Tolles Ambiente in der Lounge und Bar. Sehr freundlich außer der beim Empfang. Essen hervorragend!

Unfreundliche Empfangs Dame. Sehr Kleiner Pool. Kein Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher oder Föhn im Zimmer.

Rejuvenating!

The location is excellent about 30km to the Park gate Peaceful and rejuvenating Service excellent and very accommodating Comfortable rooms Rooms are very private Meals exceptional! Can’t say enough great things about this lodge we weren’t disappointed!

Fantastic stay!

We really enjoyed our stay, we were welcomed by Monica who was very friendly and had welcome drinks ready for us after a long drive. Our room was spotless, the dinning area was great and had an amazing view. Pity we only stayed for 1 night.

The Desert Homestead Lodge far exceeded our expectations. We wouldn’t change a thing about our stay. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the common areas spacious and meals delicious. The staff were wonderful and especially made an impression on our kids. We loved stargazing and watching the animals at the watering hole. Thanks for a really special stay!

Great property, beautifu; setting

What's the point of having two swimming pools if you don't heat them. A few solar panels and a heat pump, it would cost almost nothing...

Highly recommended

Great location, wonderful outlook over desert and mountains. Good short local self-guided walk and lovely sunset horse ride. Excellent quality fixed menu despite isolated location.

Great location but let down by common areas being heavily furnished. Management needs an overhaul.

Generally staff very good, view from room amazing.

Checkout was lengthy and frustrating. Having to prove you had already paid prior to arrival was a nightmare. With poor wifi connectivity we had to find a confirmation email they sent us, then they asked us to forward their own email back to them. Seriously this should not be happening, this delayed our departure by 30 minutes.

I had the best time in the Desert Homestead Lodge. Everyone working there was super kind and welcoming. I booked two activities which they offered. Sunset Horse Ride and the Dune Tour. Both were really beautiful and the guides made it a super nice experience. Food was great, the rooms and the location itself are really beautiful. Definitely recommend spending a few nights here!

Beautiful view, beautiful lodge, best chef!, friendly staff, good guides on tour to sossusvlei and while horse riding, we enjoyed the pool area, good concept with solar water heating

Beautiful place, exceptional staff

Everything! Beautiful room, very comfortable lounge area, fabulous food including diverse vegetarian options and, to make it perfect, very welcoming, kind and fun team, from reception to service, kitchen, household and guides. While the place is beautiful, the staff make it a unique experience.

Perfect place to retreat to after a day of exploring Sossusvlei.

The property was relatively closely located to Sossusvlei and had beautiful views. The rooms were very convenient with more than enough power outlets throughout the room, comfortable beds and privacy.

Lack of reading lamps at the bed (there is an overhead lamp but not bright enough) and the floors were a bit slippery.

Too expensive for experience received!

Peace and quiet, nice rooms with mosquito net. views really invigorating!

Food not what we expected for the price, everything tasted sweet and all tasted the same, be it meat or veg. Sweets very unpleasant on the pallet. The chef however did take pride in his presentation of the food, and that’s what made it sad, looked great but did not taste great. Service staff seemed not happy or very scared on everything they did. The lady receptionist whom also worked in the service, was very unfriendly and came across as rude and arrogant. She seems to dominate and control everything. Our guide Philemon, was excellent, very accommodating and pleasant. He made our adventure to the dunes, well worth it. We hope he received the money that was dropped of at the reception by a guest who lost their credit cards, and was found by us.

Superb

Amazing room with a patio overlooking exceptional views, very comfortable stay. Wish we stayed for more than a night. If it wasn't for food this would have been a 10/10. The overall feel and atmosphere was the best out of all of our stays in Namibia.

Dinners are not buffets so the property decides what they want to serve on the night, if you have any food preferences or allergies then I strongly recommend to contact them well in advance of your stay as otherwise the food will most certainly be a let down

Pleasant stay

The decor of the room is very nice.the view from the patio is beautiful.

The property is close to the road. Food was good but not great. Lacking tea and coffee making in the rooms.

Superb

A great stay at Homestead lodge, about 10 km from the entrance to Sossusvlei. Rooms are very comfortable with a beautiful view over the desert and its amazing sunsets. Sunset is also the time that the barking geckos start their tunes, first time we heard these soothing sounds. WiFi is available but with limited bandwidth, which is the case for most of the lodges we stayed in Namibia. Food and service was very good.

Homely place with a high potential

Beautiful location and ease of access to most activities around the Sossusvlei area. Rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished and offer a great view. Beds are large and comfortable. Delicious (set menu) Dinner and breakfast.

Missed the in-room tea/coffee facilities. This is usually a standard amenity in most accommodation establishments (especially in this price category). Afternoon tea/coffee is offered but at a charge. Our room had no hot water for showering. Reason given was that they had forgotten to fill up the geyser. We were offered to make use of the shower in the next-door bungalow.
