We had a group of 8 adults and 5 kids 2-10 years and the house and property worked wonderfully for us. The views were phenomenal, and the lake front - although a short hike through the woods, was lovely and well set up with picnic tables, a firepit, a shed for storage, 3 kayaks, and chairs. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The basement was great for the kids to play in while the grownups did puzzles and hung out on the main floor. Peter, the host, was very gracious and made sure our stay was comfortable and that we knew our way around the property. There is a small town about 20 minutes from the house with grocery stores. We did the Polar Caves - a nearby attraction - with the whole group and I would definitely recommend, it was a lot of fun.

Our extended family met for a week at this beautiful location and home in Rumney. The house had room for everyone to spread out and a beautiful large yard so that toddlers and children could run off some steam! The walk down to the water is quite a little trek- not for anyone with a handicap or an elderly person who has trouble walking- but once you are down there it opens up to a beautiful beach! We loved our week here and hoping to return!!

My family of 12 headed up to stay at Peters home for a long weekend. The property was stunning, especially since we booked at right when the leaves were changing. The lake view was unbelievable from the upper balcony and we loved that our dogs could roam around on the large property. We took the walk down to the lake which was quite the hike down a big hill. Difficult but doable and worth it. It would be a great spot in the summer. The house wasn’t too far from activities like loon and we loved stopping at Rumneys country store for a DELICIOUS sandwich. Plenty of space for our large group equipped with enough dishware for everyone and we were able to prepare a prime rib, spaghetti with meatballs and a Turkey dinner during our stay with no issue. We will definitely be returning in the future. Hopefully for some snowmobiling on this massive property with great trails!

We are a group of 11 that are old high school friends that have been getting together once a year for 35 years. Some come from Texas, Florida, Maryland, Vermont and Massachusetts. This house was perfect for what we needed. Beautiful views, comfortable bedrooms, and fun nights around the fire. Overall just a great place for our annual reunion. We just want to thank Peter (one of the owners) for his hospitality and easy communication. Just a great time had by all of us!

Eagle Point is an amazing property and we would definitely return. We were there for Labor Day weekend with our family which included 6 adults and 6 children between ages 2 and 14.
First off, the owner met us upon arrival and gave us a tour as well as the history which was so wonderful! The home was well equipped and perfectly laid out for our large group. The view is AMAZING! It was so peaceful just being there. The beach is a short walk, but is downhill and is partly a trail through the woods. It was no problem for any of us including my two year old ( we have no physical disabilities). Once there, it is just perfect. There are kayaks, picnic tables, chairs and a firepit. We had it to ourselves the whole time which was so nice. It was our own private oasis :) We enjoyed a fire every night overlooking the lake and the mountains. Our kids loved roaming around the property and there are some great hikes all around. We had a remarkable time and were sad to leave. The host gave us some great tips and things to enjoy in the area. He was very responsive and lovely to speak with.
Thank you Peter!

This place saved our party!!!
We were a group of 15 traveling for the princess of the groups 40th birthday party😊. 6 days out from our trip our Rental from another site that will remain unnamed canceled on us with very little explanation or any help finding us a new place. We reached out to a ton of places and were having little luck on such short notice. Peter was VERY accommodating to our situation and made it all work out for us last minute. We can’t thank him enough for coming through for us and also handling some of our specific needs. Views were stunning, beds were VERY comfy, slept 15 no problem. Be prepared to walk up and down a steep incline to access the water. We had no problem with it but may be tough for older folks or anyone with mobility issues. Loved it and would stay again. Thanks for saving our butts!!!

We booked a long weekend with a group of friends to get away and slightly off grid. Eagle Point is a beautiful location with a rich history. We absolutely loved the tranquility and views from this property. Amazing sunrises, sunsets and stars at night! Peter is a wonderful host and was very professional, accommodating and responsive. We all want to go back! Thank you for the memories that we will cherish for a long time!

We held our 2022 family reunion at Eagle Point and it was AMAZING! We had one set of grandparents and three families with children for a total of 14; house was PERFECT for us! It is on a very quiet road, each couple/family had their own bathrooms, there were plenty of spaces for individuals to retreat to for quiet times, AND there are two fridge/freezers that made good planning so much easier. The private beach made our week of boating and swimming convenient and a blast; even in early July the lake was only shared with a few other locals AND a bald eagle soaring over the lake almost everyday we went out! Our kids ages range from 5-11 years, and the Polar Caves was a MUST - so fun for all of us. Peter was an excellent host, thank you!!

A beautiful location! The house was extremely comfortable and fit the needs of 11 people of all ages. The kitchen- dining room - TV room was perfect as a gathering place. The fire pit and picnic table and BBQ Grill were perfect for outdoor meals, campfires, s'mores, etc. A wonderful location within walking distance of beautiful Stinson Lake. We hiked, swam, and road our bikes all around the lake. Rumney is a beautiful town. Groceries and shopping was only 25 minutes away.

Our large family (five siblings, spouses, parents and children) had a great time at Eagle Point on Stinson Lake! Peter was helpful and responsive throughout.
The beautiful setting allowed us to spend time together playing games indoors and out, hiking, swimming, kayaking, cooking, grilling, and s'mores around the campfire before good sleep in comfortable beds.
If you like to cook, plan to bring spices, roasting pans, and baking sheets to supplement the kitchen equipment that's provided.
Be prepared to work to get to the lake and back up - but it's worth it! The water is clear and refreshing and the sandy beach accommodated us and 10+ guests from another vacation rental.
My teen gives it 5 stars.

Awesome house... great location!

We had a great time during our week at the Lake House at Eagle Point. The overall reactions:
* Be aware that you share the private beach with another rental house
* We loved the location: we didn't mind the walk to the water, and the views and open space more than compensated for the extra distance
* The hosts are welcoming and helpful
* There are very few services nearby; you have to drive 15 minutes to get to the nearest country store
* The house is spartan and did have some mold in the showers
* The house fixtures and features are all ready for an upgrade
More detail:
LOCATION: We really enjoyed the views from the property (both the lake and the mountains). The property itself has open grassy fields as well, which was great for the kids to play sports and run around. The beach is an 8-minute walk from the house, although you can drive to the turnaround and cut it to a 3-minute steep-ish walk on a woodsy path. The house also has 3 fire pits-- one near the house (which we mostly used), one amazing large, stone fire pit 100 yards away (too big for our group), and one on the beach (we didn't bother carrying wood all the way there).
There is no cell service at the house, so we relied on the unsteady internet for communication with the outside world, which was sufficient for our 3 families on vacation but did pose problems whenever someone had to dial out for a work call or download some large work files.
BEACH: Be aware that the beach, while technically private (owned by the hosts) is shared between 2 vacation house rentals, so we shared the beach all week with another group, which could make it crowded at times. The other renters were certainly nice and accommodating, but this wasn't what we expected given the description.
Beyond that, the beach was quite nice for a lake beach, with 30-40 feet of sandy/pebbly bottom, and the shed down by the beach had plenty of life vests and a couple kayaks. We also brought SUPs, which were great for both kids and adults on this small lake. One family brought a small sailboat and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of wind.
HOUSE: The house certainly has space for many people, but this is due to the rooms being quite small. While the smaller rooms were certainly sufficient, we weren't thrilled with the condition of the house. It hasn't been renovated in quite some time and could certainly use a general upgrade. Some points that I would stress:
* There was mold around some of the shower ceilings.

The house was set on a beautiful location with great lake and mountain views. Peter met us there when we arrived and showed us around, he was very nice and was an excellent host. The house was a good size for the 12 adults. The cleanliness of the home could use some improvement, the kitchen was dirty, as well as the shower curtains and some of the comforters were stained. It was hot when we stayed (mid August) so air conditioning would have been nice. The windows were outdated and close to half of them didn't open which made it a little hard to sleep at night. The lake itself was beautiful and we loved spending time there, however, there was no easy access. You can drive from the house and park which cuts half the time but will still half to hike down a steep path through the woods. It's difficult if you have kids or a lot of items to bring down. Despite these few issues we still had a wonderful time. You can't beat the views from the house and at night the stars just light up the sky. I would recommend this place to friends and family!

If you're looking to get away to the woods, this is a lovely place to do it. The property itself is lovely - perched atop a hill with views of the mountains and the lake beyond. Incredible sunsets and the outdoor area with firepit and lawn was nothing short of heavenly. The space was ample and easily accommodated our party of 16 - from a newborn to grandparents. If I had to caution anything it would be two things -- 1) this is not a lakefront property. It has access to a lake but it is a HIKE and not an easy one. This was something the listing was clear about so it wasn't like we hadn't been cautioned, but it's a good 20 minute walk with kids, scrabbling down a very muddy path. There were several tumbles. We used the lake a lot less than I would have liked just because it was too hard to get there. 2) Rumney is beautiful but remote -- again, wasn't a secret, but the closest grocery is in Plymouth which was 25 minutes away. Same goes for takeout pizza or any takeout. So if you're a family like ours who needs access to a town or frequent trips to the grocery, prepare yourself for some commuting.

The views are beautiful with the expansive meadow around the house and the lake surrounded by the mountains. The lake is a short hike but not bad at all. It’s less than a 10 minute hike from the house but you can opt to drive most of the way and park at the turnaround the owners added. From there, it’s about a 3 minute walk down a somewhat steep trail. I don’t think it would be an issue for most people. The beach area is beautiful and we had a great time in tubes while the kids played in the water and sand. The kayaks were great also. The house could use a little updating in some areas but it was perfectly fine for us and had plenty of room and bathrooms for our large group. The kids had fun playing games in the basement play room and running around the huge yard. We did have quite a few ticks but we found that to be the case across NH this year unfortunately. The house has two fire pits which we used almost every night. We named one “Stonehenge” due to its size and the huge rocks for seats around it (complete with a king and queen “throne”). Peter and Steve were great hosts. Steven met with us at check in and gave us the details on the house, recommendations on the area, hiking trails, etc. Our whole group had an absolutely great time and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks again Steve and Peter!

The description said water front property, but you had to drive to a driveway and then hike a trail fairly steep trail. Also the weather was hot 90+ and half the windows did not have screens. It was impossible to move air through with fans. Many Bedrooms did not have shades or curtains. Shower curtains were dirty. The yard was great for kids to play, and nice fire pit.

We had such a wonderful fall get away to this beautiful location. Great accommodation for a large group of friends each having their own bedroom. Beautiful scenery from the hilltop overlooking the lake. Lovely walks and kayaking in the two kayaks that come with the property. Our host Peter was a very gracious and helpfulhost. Thank you for such a lovely and memorable stay !

The house was very accommodating as described. We greatly appreciated that basic supplies like toilet paper, sponges, paper towels were supplied so we didn't have to spend our vacation time shopping. So helpful to have basic spices, oil, condiments. We enjoyed cooking meals in the kitchen as well as grilling. Highlights of the house were using the fire pit in the yard in the evening and sitting on the porches with a cup of coffee in the morning. The house was clean and tidy with no clutter and plenty of storage. The beds were comfortable and the linens and towels excellent. The views from the house were stunning, especially with the leaves changing. Each window was like a picture frame for spectacular natural art. The immediate area was lovely for walking. We spent the week hiking several mountains within a 1/2 hour drive. So many wonderful hikes in the area! Our last day was a full day hike on the Franconia Ridge which is 45 minutes away. Truly spectacular. The owners were extremely helpful while booking and answered many many questions. We didn't need their help when we were there because everything ran so smoothly. One area of concern we had before arrival was the internet. For normal computer use, the wifi was great. For better or worse we often had all five of us using our computers simultaneously. Wifi calling worked well. Some of us had work obligations during the week and needed to be on zoom. The house wifi was able to accommodate zoom calls - so long as the important call was the only computer using the internet. There were so many bedrooms, it was easy to designate one as the zoom room. Even that back bedroom had spectacular views. It would tax the band width to have more than one person on zoom but we did manage one person on zoom and one on wifi calling once. We had virtually no cell service in the house (AT&T and Verizon). We had beautiful fall weather so we did not swim in the lake or even boat. We went down a couple of times just to enjoy relaxing in the adirondack chairs. We hope to return. Would tomorrow be too soon?

We had a wonderful time at this property - endless space to socially distance and beautiful views. Peter was very responsive - to the point of driving out late one night when we had a self-imposed issue - and had great suggestions about hikes and activities nearby. The walk down to the lake was as described, and the trade off from being a little distant from the lake is the incredible views. The beach front area is really nice, we saw almost no motorboats during the week we were there. Really everything you want is provided. No cell reception for us (tmobile) but the wifi worked well.
