The house is a nice little maisonnette with all amenities inside. Well located for someone willing to visit Knossos site (one minute away from the house). It is located in a calm area outside the city of Heraklion, but 10 -15 mn from the main port and the centre of the city. For those who like walking in the countryside you can access many small taril roads up the hills and hike for a few hours in complete nature. We booked during the heatwave in early august and the house managed to stay cool inside. Good for a family of 4-5 persons.
An air conditioning system on 1st floor would be more than adequate during the summer season. If you travel outside the very hot season, the air conditioning is adequate.
Some details in the bathroom.

Comfortable and well equipped. Very friendly host. Excellent location for visiting Knossos and catching the bus into Heraklion. Safe parking on owner’s land. Very quiet in the evenings.
The loo flush was very difficult to work, I think the top piece may have been missing. Everything was quite dusty, but this may have been because it hadn’t been rented out for a while or just because of its location and dust blowing in on the wind.

For the rating of the host, there should be a higher rating than "5." Nikos and his brother Antonis were super. We were welcomed with open arms. We never even met our host on Santorini, but Antonis in Knossos met the taxi from the port, carried some of our bags, gave us ripe fruit from his trees, and showed us old fashioned, absolutely wonderful Greek hospitality. The maisonette was not just clean and well-appointed with everything one might expect; many supplies were provided with thoughtful consideration of guests' needs. The location was wonderful for us. We could park the car behind the maisonette and take a bus into Heraklion so as not to deal with parking issues in the city, or we could easily drive out in the country when we wished, and we could enjoy the tranquil peace of a little country enclave close to Knossos palace in our maisonette. One very happy memory is hearing the peacocks from the palace in the evening as we sat on the veranda. The maisonette is just next to Antonis' home, so he was always available to help if we needed anything, though careful to let us go our own way, and all around are family members' dwellings, like the homes of the operators of the kiosk at the Knossos parking lot. So we felt we had Greek friends and neighbors all around us.
This has nothing to do with the rating of the maisonette and hosts, but future guests should be aware than Knossos closes down completely when the palace closes at 8:00 p.m. There is a restaurant just on the highway down from the maisonette, and we ate there a couple of times for breakfast and lunch, but we were surprised one evening that it was closed at 8:00 p.m. Planning ahead is needed. There are several supermarkets, a couple with easy parking, along the main road to Knossos, as well as several restaurants. Get your supplies there, as there isn't even a mini-market in Knossos that we could find. There are traffic circles that make it easy to drive toward the city, turn around to get to a supermarket (or restaurant in the evening) and drive back to Knossos.
