Golden bear lodge Ohio's 5000+ square foot cabin is nestled amongst 65 wooded acres. Whether your headed to the lodge for a romantic getaway, family outing, or corporate retreat our management team is dedicated to making sure your stay is amazing. Kids love the amazing game room which includes pool table, air hockey, basketball shooting game, arcade games, etc and adults will enjoy the executive poker table, hot tub, and 2 story fireplace. Did we mention the catch and release fishing pond or the miles of hiking trails?

The house is spacious & clean. The property & acreage was perfect. We had 11 grandkids (ages 1-16), 5 parents, & 1 grandparent stay at the property for 5 days in mid June. Weather was perfect (75-80 every day). The kids all had a blast playing in the pond, using the paddle boats & canoes, & fishing. We had bon fires at night, kickball, water balloon fights, & went on lots of walks around the property. It's heavily wooded so we didn't really encounter many hiking trails but still plenty of space to walk around & explore. The house is not very stocked so you need to bring extra tp, paper towels, kitchen towels, soap, detergent, spices, etc... It also does not have anything for babies (cups, plates, crib, etc..) But it was a wonderful property perfect for large families.

Had a staff weekend at the lodge. Everyone had such a great time. With a large group of 18 we never felt cramped as the place is HUGE! This is our second year staying here. Honestly it checks all of our boxes and will probably be the site for our next staff appreciation weekend. Julie was very responsive and made the stay from start to finish very pleasant. Highly recommend!

From the moment we all arrived (12 adults, 1 3.5 year old & one 18 month old) we just knew we had to come back. Picturesque setting in the middle of the woods, so much room to roam, set up the volleyball net, swim, fish, and have fires at night. Well appointed home with everything you need right at your finger tips. You can tell they put a lot of thought and love into this home! You won't be sorry you stayed. We will be back next year! Thank you to our wonderful hosts!

This stay was absolutely wonderful. The house is beautiful and very clean. We had a family Thanksgiving weekend together with 21 people ages 2-91 and enjoyed every second of it. Owners are great and communicate very well. Area is very peaceful and we found a really nice park about 10-15 minutes away for a hike. We would stay here again.

Beautiful setting for our family photo! Cabin great for large gatherings. Best part was long kitchen table to seat all of us! Enjoyed fireplace on our rainy day. Some minor things but overall we all said we’d come back!

Our family had a wonderful time. The property was incredibly clean. Very spacious. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Loved the beautiful Amish countryside. Would definitely recommend it.

We rented the house for a weekend with the kids and grandkids. The home was beautiful. It had a great backyard where we were able to play volleyball. The pond was really nice for swimming. We would stay there again!

Great place to stay with a large group especially when you want to relax. The renters were very pleasant and easy to work with. My only reason for a 4 verses a 5 is the over all cleanliness of kitchen items and place could use a detailed cleaning. Overall a great stay and will keep it on my list of places to go back too.

This house accommodated our family so well. We had 10 adults and 10 kids. From a well stocked kitchen to help with all of our meals to a beautiful deck with a large table and a gas grill. The backyard is huge and served us well with volleyball and frisbee tournaments and t-ball for the kids. Fishing and swimming InThe pond was enjoyed by young and old. We would definitely recommend to family and friends. This house was so very clean and communication with the owners Was excellent!

There is lots of open space I had a little area set up for my 3 yr old granddaughter by the windows looking at the deck. She had a small kitchen set, picnic table, room to play on floor with legos and other games. The game room was a big hit with all ages. The beach area was tiny pebbles instead of sand. We would definitely put this on a return list.

Fantastic facility with lots of room indoor and out. We especially loved the long table for family gatherings. We loved taking walks on the road with the many beautiful Amish farms. We bought fresh fruit and pies from the farm stand at the farm next door. I wish I hadn’t brought eggs and bought theirs instead. My nephew’s 3 year old caught his first fish in the pond. The log cabin floors were loud, footsteps and voices echo. I would bring a white noise machine for the babies next time. Also, there are no full length mirrors and only mirrors in the bathrooms which made it a little more challenging for 15 to get dressed for a wedding. But the facility was clean, spacious, beautiful. 5 star stay for sure!

The cabin is absolutely beautiful! Huge space, comfortably sleeps and hosts large groups. Hot tub was wonderful, so many games and entertainment, and large seating area for family style eating. However, the rental company is very challenging to work with. They insist on calling to send over any information which can be challenging when you’re working during their business hours. Additionally they do not provide an adequate amount of utilities (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, watered-down soap, etc). This was incredibly frustrating for how expensive the house is to not be provided toilet paper. Also they have strict cleaning instructions for check out and don’t provide you with cleaning supplies. Finally- they list WiFi under amenities included.... it is NOT. They wanted to charge us $40+ tax to use WiFi, which 1) should be standard in this day and age, and 2) should be explicitly stated in the listing.

We had 4 families comfortably in the amazing cabin. Plenty of activities for all ages to stay active and relax. Large open eating area was great for all of us to be able to eat together. We will definitely be back !

Working with Julie was a dream, she was quick to respond and answered all of my questions thoroughly. The lodge is beautiful, was clean and well equipped. We never even left the lodge/area during our entire stay. The kitchen made it easy to bring in all of our food for the weekend and spend time enjoying each other instead of running around.

On a snowy Ohio winter weekend, our group included three generations, half of whom were ages 3-13. For the sake of the children, we planned some outdoor activities. Fortunately, because of the togetherness and many games (arcade included), everyone was content to stay inside. No one complained of boredom. Although it’s called a lodge, despite the large number of people we had (14), it really has the warmth of a large, fully equipped home. There’s enough space to come together or have time alone. Because it seems that the owners thought of just about everything, a lot of the supplies we brought weren’t needed. The property is very much secluded (not in a creepy way) but close enough to civilization to make a quick trip to a store or go out for a meal. Everyone (including the non-verbal communication of the 3-year-old) said they had an enjoyable time. The adults said it was worth the money.

We rented the lodge for our sales team's annual retreat. The lodge completely exceeded our expectations. We have stayed at hotels in the past, but all staying in the same home, was far more effective for our team building activities. We began the weekend with relaxing and just catching up. Then, we spent most of Saturday going through our business agendas and a couple team building activities. There was plenty of room for the activities, food set up and some private meeting spaces for some of our activities. I cannot thank the owners enough for the quick response time when we had questions about booking, recommendations about how we could best use the space and after check-out, the phone call to follow up for our feedback. I highly recommend doing the same, if your organization is interested in a weekend getaway with your team. We will be back again. By far the best weekend getaway with the team yet!!

This was a great place for a family vacation. we had 17 people ages 4 to 68. Never felt crowded. Large outside play area and a great pond! We caught large bluegill and bass and used the paddle boat. A/C worked great. Communication before we came and while we were there was very good. The games on the lower level were a bonus for the kids. We would come again.
