FILTHY & DISGUSTING
I had to scrub the toilet before using it. The entire place was disgusting. Worst of all the smoke detector was disarmed so if there was a fire we would be toast! The heater didn't work and there was a clanking coming from a vent in the bathroom that kept us awake most of the night. We were out of there the first thing in the morning.

The price was great and affordable! We really like how accessible it was to public transportation. We loved being in an authentic neighborhood where we were able to experience Brooklyn in a way we would not be able to in a hotel.

great!
small little studio apartment on the third floor ..big bathroom, jacuzzi tub- which is a huge plus, especially after a long day. fully equipped kitchen, to reheat leftover lunch, or prepare your own meal...quiet neighborhood... parking can be tricky, but we were very fortunate in finding spots, later on in the evening.. check in process quick and easy..check out process is the same...100% will book again... thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful Neighborhood
The location of the apartment in a secure and nice Brooklyn neighborhood was what we were expecting, the subway A or C to Manhattan is walking distance, the size and distribution in the apartment was perfect for our needs.

The location was great. Close to the subway and the supermarket. The neigbourhood was quiet and check in and check out very simple. John and Anthony were very nice and helpful. In internet the appartment looks bigger and cleaner. The bathroom was very big and comfortable but there were only two shower towels and two face towels, the mirrors and the shower curtain were dirty. The kitchen was ok but the frigde was very dirty.
The appartment is ok for 2 max. 3 people.

Did the job
We really loved the service we were given by th owners they were awesome
There were other tenants and the building who were a bit noisy and the smell of incense was extremely strong. For anyone with allergies this is not a good situation Also I feel like the sinks and floors should have been cleaned before we came in

Nice place to stay in Brooklyn
Overall, we enjoyed our experience here. We were comfortable and the a/c worked well. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. Further, late checkout was accommodated and appreciated. I would stay here again in the future.

It was a pleasant stay
John is very helpful and will always communicate with me. The room was clean and the bathroom is big. Thank you John!

The place was big enough to accommodate 4 people, the bathroom was huge which means it was convenient to all get ready at the same time not to spend hours preparing before exploring the city.
The WiFi didn't work so well for me but it did for my friends (probably an issue if your phone isn't compatible with 5G?).
It was really well situated, with shops and takeout places around.
The only drawback was the A/C directed directly next to the bed by the window - we got a little cold but nothing too bad.
I would definitely recommend it and stay again.
Thanks a lot!

The apartment is pleasant, very comfortable for a family of four and ideally situated. It is at a walking distance from the station and Manhattan is only 30 minutes away.
We enjoyed a day walking around Brooklyn and spent a very lovely week in New York.

Beautiful experience.
Loved everything about this property. Space was perfect for four people who wanted a comfortable place to stay on a quiet neighborhood street outside the hubbub of the city. Easy access to subways. Comfy beds, roomy bathroom, sweet kitchen. My son hopes to attend university in Manhattan starting in fall 2020, and I hope this space is always available when I visit.

Nice neighborhood and owner
The Apartment is super clean and is 10 to 15 mins walk to the A line to Manhattan which takes 15 to 20 mins to lower Manhattan. Great restaurants and breakfast places close by.. Try Nagels Bagels around the corner!!

Quiet and Cozy
We had a great time staying at John's Property. It was in a great location. Close to the subway, grocery store, and restaurants. The neighborhood was quiet and inviting. John and Juanita made check in and check out very simple and convenient. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Cute place to stay
Place was cute and nice to stay. Had to wait quite a bit to get in even though I gave them over an hour notice that we were on our way. They had already given our apartment to someone else and had to put us in a different room for a few days which they communicated with us after they spent a long time trying to find the keys. It was ok but that room was kinda gross so it was refreshing to get to move into this one which was much and nicer and cleaner though I did have to clean the floors in both as they were really dirty. Beds are small and kinda hard for my personal taste but not bad at all. They don't give you blankets without asking so the first night was pretty cold. Renters were very nice and got us some as soon as I asked though. All in all it was a good place to stay.

We loved staying here! We felt immersed in the neighborhood, and everything we needed was within walking distance. The property was exactly as advertised and check in and check out were smooth. Would definitely stay again!

I would rent again. It was very nice. I was surprised with only the door handle lock and no deadbolt

Great place in Brooklyn
Absolutely recommend John's place. John and his family were extremely nice and accommodating. We had to change the dates and John was very flexible with us. The place is clean and just right for two adults and two children. It is very close to the subway and many little places around the home to eat or shop. The unit is private and looks newly renovated. It was a great deal in NYC. Definitely a great experience! Thanks John and Juanita!

Overall
It’s a nice place and cozy, the heater makes some noise but over all a comfortable stay. I will return if I were to come back to NY.

Bring a blanket, cleaning supplies, and earplugs
It has a lot of potential to be a warm and inviting place to stay. Very convenient location. However, if you’re a clean freak, you may want to consider other options. Also expect to climb 2 flights of stairs with your luggage. Don’t arrive early as they may need the additional time to clean up the place or not. We arrived too early and were greeted with water marks on the floor already caked with dirt, throughout the entire rental. Someone had taken a last minute drink from a glass and left it in the sink. Prior guest may also have been sitting in the dingy rattan chair with a hole through the back rest. What cleaning was done prior to our arrival was likely done with a oily, grimy cloth as oily film was on the gas range. All appliances showed likely use but no consideration was made to clean them after use...like ever. No shelf linings in any of the cabinets. Bathroom, while hospitable and functioning showed signs that after renovation, no cleaning was done to remove excess grout or cement used to secure lovely tile work. Bedding, while colorful, smelled used and in light of the less than clean surfaces throughout the rental did nothing to make me feel confident that they were any better. Slept every night in my clothes, socks and hoodie to avoid any real substantial contact with the bedding. I overlooked the lack of a blanket of any sort. I really was drawn to the allure of staying in a brownstone but this was disappointing. It could be said that I could have cleaned up the place to get it to a level where I was comfortable with my surroundings but that would have taken at least a day or two. I’d try this place again, if they can assure me that all my concerns were addressed. Also expect sounds from the radiator in the room to make hissing, whining, clanging noise. I initially thought there were rodents in the pipes but came to realize it was just the pipes. The noises were heard every day at least every 20-30 minutes. Did I mention this was every day? These are issues that can be fixed and as mentioned earlier, this place has a lot of good potential. Also conveniently located to the subway and various eateries and 24 hour markets or bodegas. Trip was great though despite my germophobia.

John and his staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We were gone most of the day, so the room was perfect for what we needed. The kitchen was great & bedroom was pretty spacious! The location was pretty good, we wanted the full Brooklyn experience & am pretty sure we got that. There were great restaurants just a short walk from the apartment & the Nostrand ave. subway station was maybe 5 minutes away. The only downsides I’d say would be the beds (just a little stiff), and there were some really strong incense being burned next door every night. However, we would definitely stay here again!

Came and stayed for a girls trip and had the best time! Great location, friendly people, and perfect size for 3 of us! The bathroom was the perfect size for getting ready! Would definitely recommend it!

Smaller than I expected, but was a great place to stay for the weekend. Did not have towels though so make sure you bring your own. The owner was so nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again if I"m in the area!

This Brooklyn brownstone was beautiful and so very close to the subway line, getting into Manhattan was a breeze. Our hosts were helpful and accommodating with everything we needed. Our 6 year old daughter loved the place and the surrounding neighborhood. There are great restaurants nearby, and beautiful treelined streets. We felt very safe walking around.

The studio fit our needs and was just as advertised. Especially good in this unit are the bathroom and the kitchen (we did not use the kitchen but it looked decently stocked with the basics) About a .6 mile walk to the subway was not bad. John and family were accommodating to a few special requests.Recommended!

The apartment was what I had expected. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint is that the dishes had been put away dirty (there was egg stuck to the spatula that was in the drawer) and we had to wash everything before we used it. The bathroom was big and the shower was nice. My husband was a little freaked out by he 'alternate parking' on the street. Midwest people aren't used to that.

This is a brownstone on a pretty street. Some of the buildings in the area are in need of some work. The apartment is updated and has everything we needed. Four adults were comfortable. We liked that we got more of the New York experience - Walking to the subway and going into Manhatten. We were never there except to sleep because of so many things to see in Manhatten! We preferred this to more expensive hotels in Manhatten.

I had a great time in this comfortable apartment and looked forward to return to it every day. The kitchen is well eqipped and the bathroom spacious. The apartment is located in a quiet Brownstone neighborhood; several supermarkets and a subway station (A-train) are in convenient walking distance. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Thanks!

Beds were very comfortable. Kim is helpful and available. Kitchen and bathroom are lovely. Close to subway, grocery and good restaurants. A wonderful place to stay to enjoy New York City. This place is a real find.

One small issue with the historic stay. We were not used to the radiator which was loud during the night. Otherwise the place was quiet. Hancock street is a quiet, residential street in an otherwise busy area.
