A beautiful cottage with space for the 5 of us on different levels. Location was ideal for visiting different places across the Cotswold and even being on the main road it wasn’t too busy.
Great size and equipped kitchen, lovely garden for relaxing and playing games.
Ceilings downstairs had beams and some doorways felt short but all part of the charm of an old cottage.

We had a lovely break in Gardeners cottage which is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The garden is beautiful and well kept ..we were able to relax whilst kids played in the spacious grounds. We appreciated the welcome pack Thank u
We did find that the wifi connection is weak but did not let that dampen our break !

We loved our stay at Gardners Cottage. The location was perfect in a quite village but not too far from a number of attractions and other villages.
We visited Oxford for an afternoon tea riverboat cruise which was a lovely afternoon with lovely food and a great guide.
We also visited the Cotswold Wildlife Park. This is a beautiful wildlife park with wide open spaces for the animals which you can get up close to.
There are a number of other villages in close proximity with Burford being the closest and which had a number of lovely tea rooms which we loved.

Lovely house, well equipped. Helpful owner, who made us feel very welcome. Beautiful surroundings. Downsides: some very low doorways, road noise.

We were very pleased with our stay at Gardener's Cottage.
It was in a great location and perfectly satisfied our needs for a Xmas break with 5 adults.
Plenty of space in the lounge and a separate dining room. The separate TV room was ideal but we did not find ourselves using the space very much.
The garden was lovely and it was shame that we weren't able to use it at this time of year.
We had some problems with the electrics during our stay but the property owner was very responsive and the problem was fixed the same day despite it being the day after Boxing Day.
If we come back to the Cotswold with a larger group we would be very tempted to stay again.

We spent a week as a family at Gardeners Cottage. The cottage was absolutely lovely and a pleasure to stay in from the first day to the last. It was clean, well presented with lovely furniture and a well equipped kitchen. The little touches of a hamper on arrival and tea/coffee available made all the difference. We had a short call with the owner prior to arrival to sort access to the keys etc and she was very kind and welcoming. All in all an amazing week of walks, pub dinners and board games around the wood burner fireplace. We would love to come back - thank you.

A lovely week in Gardener’s Cottage
We enjoyed our week in Gardeners Cottage. Comfortable, clean and beautifully presented, the cottage makes an excellent base for visiting Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon, and of course, the beautiful villages of the Cotswolds. The cottage has off-street parking for 3 cars and a large walled garden with quality garden furniture. A couple of tips, take pizza trays and a pizza cutter with you as they not provided in the otherwise well equipped kitchen. Shipton under Wychwood doesn’t have a supermarket, however we found a very well stocked Co-op in the next village, Milton under Wychwood. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gardeners Cottage for a relaxing break in the Cotswolds.

Gardeners Cottage June 2021 break
What a delightful cottage, lovely location, great garden space to relax in with very comfortable garden furniture and plenty of it ! , comfortable beds, nice walks, two reception rooms for relaxing in, dining room next to well equipped kitchen for family meals, Central location for short trips to Burford, Bourton , Stow and the Slaughters. Local shop for necessities, 2 Gastro pubs we enjoyed meals in and evening refreshments in their gardens. To borrow a review response from Simon Cowell, we didn't like this cottage. We LOVED it !

One of the best cottages we've ever stayed in!
I knew this was going to be a good choice when I spoke to Sarah, the owner, in advance of our stay. Great communication and friendly and informative both ahead of and throughout our stay.
We were lucky enough to meet Sarah and Miles on arrival as they were taking delivery of new garden furniture, they were both incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful with local tips and information to help us make the most of our stay. That was before we even walked into the cottage which was absolutely outstanding.
You can see it is designed with family and entertaining in mind.To say the kitchen is well stocked is an understatement, there was everything we needed for family meals for the 6 of us, large fridge freezer, more crockery and glasses than we could have used and a welcoming locally made cake was a nice touch and added bonus.
The garden is stunning, although the weather wasn't amazing when we were there we managed a couple of meals outside and made good use of the BBQ. (I can recommend the Daylesford organic farm shop for good quality meat, cheeses and bread).
The cottage is very clean and all necessary precautions taken to make it as safe as possible in current situation.
Beds incredibly comfortable and good quality bedding and towels unlike some other cottages we've stayed at.
I could not recommend the cottage highly enough and hope to re-visit if we can manage to secure a booking.

A lovely family location
A lovely Cotswold house with plenty of parking and a lovely garden for the children (3&6) to charge around.
Well equipped kitchen, great to have a second lounge to allow the grandparents to escape Cbeebies! Great to have two bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower.
We loved eating in the garden for nearly every meal.
Loved the location. The road was noisier than we expected but not enough to bother us. Great playground a ten minute walk away, a couple of nice pubs and the Wychwood Wild Garden just around the corner.
Our only negatives; we felt the master bedroom deserved a super king bed and we found the beds a bit soft.

An excellent, well located holiday rental cottage
The cottage had all the amenities and creature comforts that one could ever wish for in a holiday rental cottage in mid March. It was very comfortable and ideally located in the centre of the village. The owners clearly take great pride in this property because it has been tastefully modernised.

Excellent amenities, lovely cottage
We were very impressed with the Gardener's Cottage - they provided absolutely everything we needed, including some unexpected lovely food items - e.g. wine, juice, cereal, bread, butter, cake. The cottage was well cared-for and we had excellent communication with the owner. Highly recommend!

Lovely stay at Gardeners cottage!
Lovely house in a nice village. 3 nice pub restaurants within walking distance and more in the lovely town of Burford (within a short drive). The house included everything we needed, was well maintained and very clean. Great location to explore the local area and lovely walks nearby in the Wildwood. Large well maintained garden for the family to play and seating area for afternoon BBQs. Spacious house with plenty of room for the whole family. Would stay again and recommend to family and friends.

First class property in excellent location
We hired Gardeners Cottage to celebrate my 70th birthday with the family and it couldn’t have provided a better venue for a wonderful long weekend. Furnishings, fittings and decor have been well thought out and the cottage was spotlessly clean. Having 2 sitting rooms would be very useful if you came with children. The kitchen has everything you could need and a good range of basic supplies. I appreciated the birthday card and cake, a very nice thought. We came from different directions in four cars and there was adequate off road parking. The garden is beautiful and equipped with table, chairs, outdoor furniture and BBQ, perfect for the pre dinner G & T!
Location is great for the southern Cotswolds. Burford is only 4 miles and Bourton and Stowe are within easy reach. Shipton itself has a post office/store and 3 pub/restaurants although one, the Lamb, was closed while we were there. Other excellent pubs are not far away. Lots to do in the area and great walking country.
In summary Gardeners Cottage is 100% recommended and we will be back!

Short break in the Cotswolds
We chose Gardener's Cottage for its proximity to Burford. The house is beautiful and was spotlessly clean. The garden looked
lovely with the daffodils in bloom. We had a very enjoyable stay and shall return later this year.
